    Really need some help guys.. I’m at a loss what to do with Rooney. Team:

    Krul, Linde
    Kompany, Enrique, Raylor, Caulker, Kelly
    Silva, Bale, Valencia, Sess, Walters
    RVP, Rooney, Best

    0m in the bank, 1 FT. Problem is:

    - too many NC defenders, so can’t do a straight swap Rooney > Ba
    - if I swap Rooney > Aguero, not enough money for Best > Ba (need someone 9.2 or cheaper).

    Do I hold onto Rooney for 1 more week? If not, who would be his replacement?

    Can anyone explain me why McClean got the assist for Campbell goal when the defender clearance went to Campbell and Why BAE didnt got his for Modric goal for the same reason.... I have seen many times assist awarded to player who has the last touch of ball before goal scored from scoring team (Rooney is above all so he has got immunity for this rule) no matter how the direction is changed after the touch of opposition player ... what about Rayler given assist for BA goal after defender clearance or vice versa cant remember exactly but has happened many a times.... Is there any rule what so ever or is it all about Pressed Ass to decide according to their own teams ?

      Last player to touch the ball before the goal is scored gets the assist unless ball is subsequently touched by defender outside the box. Pretty simple really.

    VC'd Dempsey last week, Bale this week, both times in favour of Van Persie. Presumably this week I should change my Captain and VC at the last minute. That would make Aguero capt instead of Van Persie.

      The more I think about it, the more Van P wasn't a stand out captaincy choice this GW just gone. Bolton were in a good run of form, Arsenal were in a poor one, and although he can usually be counted on to score, I recall him scoring well for Holland at the start of the season while Arsenal were doing poorly, and getting sod all in ff.

          I stand by my decision to captain him - have not seen the game but apparently he hit the woodwork twice and put a few potential assists in that others shafted. He could easily have scored 10+ points. Will keep the faith again this week.

    I have been going well in the last few weeks, have gone from 400k+ to now 95k (my first year doing FPL).. i know this is pretty shyte for majority of you folks but I am AS HAPPY AS a dog with two tails 🙂

    Ooof, time to get this moan off my chest, I thought I’d wait until post bonus so I could feel even lower! This has been a painful week. Who says a wildcard helps you out?! Plummeted out of the top 6k and I expect be down a few more thousand after the rankings are updated. I would have had 28 extra points if I didn’t change the side to get DVD in and give him the armband in the last 5mins before the deadline. I still think it was a decent call – You have to try and catch the bandwagon before it starts – It just failed miserably with his inability to BE A MAN.

    So instead of Bale captain, Sess, BAE I went --> DVD captain, McClean to the bench and Kompany instead (had to shift a Spurs player as already had Bale and Ade).

    Now, you watch DVD somehow recover in time for Monday and score a brace after he has been sold by many a disgruntled manager..

    Dust myself down and try and climb again I guess. As I have McClean I can’t bring myself to get Sess again, I’ve missed the boat there I feel - Or is doubling up on those two a reasonable shout would you think? Thoughts welcome people. Sinclair is an option, don’t really fancy Walters now and there is always Victor to come home to...

        He has been playing. Surely you can see his credentials?! He is fully capable of big hauls, scored in the cup the previous week, was probably on penalties and he was playing against Wigan at home who like to concede plenty of goals. And penalties.

        I’d say that was justification for a punt don’t you?

      That looks like a whole bunch of bad decisions rather than the wildcard itself being wrong.

      getting DVD in with their upcoming fixtures is odd, to captain him is insane.

      Benching Mclean when he's at home in an easy game is also odd. Keeping Ade even for that easy game was also odd given his form.

      I think the problem there was that you used your wildcard based on one fixture not the next ten or so.

      I think you need to switch from so much spurs to Man City. Ditch VDV and Ade for Aguero/Dzeko and Dempsey/Sess/Valencia.

      Valencia and Man utd are grinding out results even when fixtures are bad. Dempsey has a bad fixture this week...but only this week.

        ah just looked at your team...you already have Ageuro and Dempsey...in that case I'd consider Valencia for VDV and Ba for Ade.

          I sold Valencia in the WC as somebody had to be sacrificed for the DVD punt! Won’t be going back there. Despite what I said with regard to keeping Ade, I may well get Ba in for him – But not yet. I can’t see him hitting the ground running after being in Africa for a bit. But Rafa is surely going to get the bullet this week.

        A whole bunch of decisions being ‘wrong’ is a strong statement to make wouldn’t you say?

        I kept Ade because I don’t think anyone below his price jumps out at me more than he does.. Plus he had a cracking fixture and I think Spurs will do alright in the upcoming games too as they are playing the most impressive football in the league. And captaining Rafa was insane? Now come on Jonty, for a man of your ilk and standing in these parts that is just a poor statement to make. Captaining a Wigan defender away at Spurs would be insane.

        Benching McClean I was uneasy about but who would you have benched then? None of the other front 7 that is for sure. I took a punt on DVD and it didn't work. I just have to try and recover from a bad week.

      Sorry to hear that BBA. Terribly unfortunate, I've been burned badly by VDV myself this season too.

      I probably wouldn't bother getting Sessegnon back in again, fixtures are poor and he's had his spree. I might sell him for McClean myself actually - he should be good value regardless.

      Anyway, you'll be fine. I'd probably look at gettind rid of VDV or Adebayor if I were you. Spurs fixtures a bit dodgy and they've not been firing for a while.

        Cheers for the post Garg. I think we have all been burned by Rafa at various times haven’t we! It just so happened it was my time now and it was a heightened with the Bale juggernaut continuing alongside his calf tweak. I will get rid of VDV this week but will prob keep Ade for a while as I think he’ll come good. Newcastle at home looks like a good fixture too as how they kept a cleanie last night I do not know. Spurs could do to Newcastle what Fulham did and I think they’ll do OK at Anfield too – This pains me to say being a staunch red too.

    66 makes this another good week...but had I had Krul playing over Vorm and Santon second sub over Huth it'd have been 84 and probably my best proportionately of the season. Bah.

    Good morning everyone!

    Had a good week overall with 81 point (12 BP total). I need your advice for GW 24.
    I want to play a 4-4-2 formation and play Kompany, Vermaelen and Huth (last two are due for goals I believe).

    Need advice on the rest of the starters.

        yes, overall value is 111.5 mil plus 0.2 in the bank. It is my first and I had a lot of hits due to my inexperience. Discovered this site 3 weeks ago all started to click more or less;) Am chasing leaders who have R Taylor and Baines in their team - that is why going for Vermaelen and Huth for punts.

    Bale / Mata / Mclean / Buzsaky
    RVP(c) / Aguero(vc) / Bent

    Sorenson / Dempsey / Evans / Senderos

    Will Buzsaky play now with QPR's new signings? Is it worth playing him over Dempsey?

    Would swapping the armband from RVP to Aguero be ludacris as my rivals above me don't have him and will all captain RVP or is it just too risky? I am chasing a 120pt league, is now the time to start taking risks, before the season gets closer to an end?

        But will Buzsaky play? If he does i'd rather play him as Fulham are VERY poor away not to mention the play Man City, who may be on abit of poor form but are still a solid defensive team at home. Any thoughts on Buzsaky's playing chances?

      I'd play Buzsaky, but depends if he's recovered in time. Back in favour under Hughes, very talented. Can't see why he would start Diakite (who's a defensive midfielder) over him at home to Wolves

    Morning lads.

    Guy in my mini league is 11 points ahead. He has Krul and captained Gerrard but Bale was his vc. And I benched those lovely 9 points from Evans thinking a last minute punt for King was a smart move. FAIL.

    But my overall points are 1,294 so not a distaster.

    And i'm up to 12th in the overall Sky FF rankings.
