Really can’t figure out the best defender to fill the gap – I’ve even got 8.1m to spend!

    Vorm Krul
    ?8.1m? Richards BAE Simpson Caulker
    Sessegnon Silva Bale Valencia Dempsey
    Sturridge RVP Dzeko

I want to buy a top notch defender but there just doesn’t seem to be anyone obvious.

Maybe Vermaelen, Skrtel, Evra?.. Any ideas welcome!

I'd buy someone to rotate with Caulker for now and save your money until Liverpool's fixtures improve.

OR A cheeky punt on Vermaelen could work out until then but his attacking hasn't been as good recently. Maybe once Sagna is back he will get forward more.

i'm going for cisse for the next 2 then switching to ba to complete that trio in gw26.
reason being i'd rather have cisse at blackburn than ba at white hart lane, also i see cisse as one of these guys like adebayor who really burns brightly in his first few weeks in a new club before then fading. oh and wolves are atrocious in defence, surely no coincidence hennessey has to make about 300 saves a match?

So Mata and Modric are tied on points now, yet Modric is continually dogged on in FPL. I understand as a Spurs fan why that is. He's usually the "assist the assister" guy, but has he finally put his shooting boots on? Even when he hasn't scored this season, he's had some excellent shots. Is it finally time to consider him a viable FPL player, especially at 8.0?

I've never really thought of him as defensive, especially when you consider playing alongside Parker and Sandro. He's great and keeping possession under pressure, especially for his size, but his bread and butter is ball distribution, not defense.

    Current team has

    Bale - Silva - Dempsey - Sess - [xxx]
    RVP - [Fletcher] - Ba

Now my options with WC are

    1) Get Valencia in.. Keep Fletcher (to change to Yakubu later) OR
    2) [4 to 6mil] mid + Fletcher to D.Cisse(the qpr fella) - Any suggestions on 4-6 mid also appreciated? Wright-Phillips with nice fixture of QPR?

Anyone find a decent way of getting Ba in my team?
If Pardew says he's ready to start this week then I'm thinking Sess>McClean and Fletcher>Ba. Dropping Sess isn't sitting too well with me though. Don't fancy Aguero to Dzeko cause it'll just be rotation city again when Balotelli's back.

    Sorensen
    Evans, Simpson, Richards
    Silva, Bale, Valencia, Dempsey, Sess
    RVP, Aguero

Vorm, Fletcher, Kelly, Brown. 2 FT, 0 in the bank.

As a rule of thumb, if I have to choose between a keeper at home to a good side and a keeper away against a not-so-good side, I always go for the keeper playing away.

Your decision was just unlucky to be honest, Krul's penalty save was lucky and Vorm could have kept a clean sheet if it wasn't for the unfortunate OG

I have Huth and I disagree about great fixtures. I want to get rid of him. Sunderland have been on fire since replacing Bruce, and Fulham seem to be building steam as well. That leaves Swansea and Norwich before playing three of the top five teams. I see maybe one CS in the next seven, so unless he finally gets that long overdue header from a corner, he's not going to yield many points.
