Gameweek Twenty Nine Postponements Confirmed

Clubs have today officially announced the postponement of their Premier League fixtures in Gameweek 29, as a result of the FA Cup Quarter-Finals taking place on the weekend of March 17. The ten fixtures have also been removed from the Fantasy Premier League schedule.

Our Season tickers for members and non-members have now been updated accordingly, with all the affected fixtures removed. The Man City vs Chelsea fixture currently remains in place, although this could also fall victim, should Chelsea prevail in their replay with Birmingham. That match will be played on Tuesday March 6 – by then we will hopefully have confirmation of new dates for the league fixtures.

As mentioned in Sunday’s article – all the affected fixtures could well move to the Tuesday March 20 and Wednesday March 21, keeping them in Gameweek 29. We await confirmation of this from the Premier League but, until then, the Gameweek is reduced to just five matches.

The Season Tickers were also updated today with new ratings for all teams based on recent home and away form.

    Shouldn't the fixtures happen midweek? Very little congestion that time, unlike other times midweek.

      I wouldn't trust Vermaelen with Arsenal's current form. Everyone has the same midfield so why not downgrade Verm and upgrade one of your mids to Mata?

            I had my worst week ever the last DGW. I've come to the conclusion that it's immensely distracting and regularly doesn't reward.

        You give casuals too much credit. We will plan weeks in advance and have a very strong 11 and most will have a weak 11. Last year some on this site scored over 170 points in the big DGW when the average was way lower.

      It'd be a good way for those lower down the rankings to get through any casuals that are still near the top.

      I'm sure a fair amount of people won't take account of the postponements until the week or two beforehand, by which time they could be facing half their squad not playing.

          Actually I think I jumped to a conclusion that the involved sides will want to play 2 league games in 3 days.

          Stoke for instance might not want to play a game on the Wednesday knowing that they then meet City on the Saturday.

      BAE is 50/50. Anyway, your defence needs sorting out soon (but not for point hits) as there's no rotation - 3 defenders playing away from home in starting 11.       IMO he is nailed on, Fergie rates him highly and has praised his recent performances. Plus Rio now struggles to play several games in a row, so Jones or Smalling will fill in then. He is now first choice IMHO (as a United ST holder)
