FFS Cup

Members Paddy Power Cup II – The Grand Final

After nine gruelling stages, Gameweek 33 will see the conclusion of the Members Paddy Power Cup II. We started with over 900 Fantasy managers and we are now down to just two, going head-to-head to scribe their name underneath our former champ, Kippax Kloggers.

Here’s how the Semi-Finals played out…

1The Lord6454mch
2Pablod4545*Fuzzy Dunlop

Despite a Mario Balotelli red card, The Lord breezed past mch to book his place in the final, with Clint Dempsey and Juan Mata doing most of the damage.

In the second Semi-Final, Pablod‘s eight-point hit brought the tie all-square, meaning that Fuzzy Dunlop‘s vastly superior overall rank saw him progress.

The Grand Final

The Lord Vs. Fuzzy Dunlop

3rd Place Play-Off

mch Vs. Pablod

Here’s a reminder of what is at stake…

  • Winner – £150 worth of free bets. £50 Amazon Voucher
  • Runner-up – £75 worth of free bets. £30 Amazon Voucher
  • 3rd Place – £50 worth of free bets. £20 Amazon Voucher

I’m sure you’ll all join me in wishing the four Fantasy managers involved in this final stage the best of luck. May the best man win!

    Bale to Arteta?
Already have Walcott and RVP, and would take a -4 to get bale back in gw 35 or 36
Or I could just let McClean come in from bench if bale doesn't play....

By popular consensus, Bale plays either 90 or 0. Hence I have captained Bale, with rvp as vc.

As its popular consensus, its also logical to say that things are bound to go drastically wrong for me this week.

    Corrigan, yeah I did 2 F/T:

    Bale > Walcott
    Ba > Cisse

Bale is a doubt and he misses GW34 so adding both those facts together I felt it made sense to ship him out short term - he'll be back for the DGW though.

Similar moves to me. A lot of people are seeming to forget that Bale has the missing GW and with Dempsey taking up a bench spot, another sacrifice is needed to make 11 for 34 (priority). Also, it saves another transfer as Dempsey would have been needed back for 35 whereas I'll just get Bale back for 36.

Why not look at his season... His last 9, he has faced opponents from the top half of the table. difficult fixtures, you can use stats for anything. If he scored 19 pts this week, it could easily read he serves a reminder of what he is able to achieve and is now the rightful holder to the 1st spot in the midfielders.

It's all up to you if you think the decision is sound. I wouldn't cut Mata or Bale for Valencia first because at the moment Mata looks great but I'm unsure about Bale. The again, Bale is labelled as doubtful but he might start. He's done great at Norwich and I'm sure he'll do the same at home. Personally, I'd do Suarez to Cisse simply because Cisse is on form and he's playing Bolton at home and might bag a hat-trick.

It's a sound decision, one which I have pondered previously too.

But, I do need to prepare for GW34 with only 6/7 players available atm (I think he has 9 as it stands, with the potential for 11).

Morning folks, my starting eleven for today:

    Vorm
    Evans | Kompany | Kelly
    Valencia | Walcott | Sessegnon | Bale
    Rooney | Van Persie (c) | P. Cisse (vc)

Bench: Mignolet | Sigurdsson | Caulker | King

Do you think I should start Sigurdsson ahead of Bale? I figured since Bale's status is doubtful/injury, I should just start him because there is a chance he might be given the green light on his fitness. Plus, he did really well against Norwich away so I fancy him to do the same this time at home. However, if Bale doesn't start, at least I have another chance of substituting Sigurdsson in. If I start Sigurdsson who is a sure starter, there is no chance of Bale making it assuming he's okay for the game.

    What do you think?

Ah, I have Sess on the bench at the moment with Sigurdsson in the starting XI, do you think thats a mistake (i'm happy with rest of line-up)!? Also all, whats the chances of Suarez being rested do you think?

I think you're right. I'll bench Sessegnon and start both Bale and Sigurdsson. Thanks, and I think Suarez will not be rested at this point of the season.

Great point. Almost the same case as Bale's. Thanks. I'll start him.

Play Vermaelen or Lescott? My other defenders are BAE and Evans (Caulker on bench)

U are in similar bench to me and I have exactly the same defenders as you.

I am playing Verm, Lescott and Evans (and benching BAE).
