Euro 2012

Fantasy League Pro – The Wrap Up

With today’s deadline looming across all the Fantasy games, your lineups should be close to being finalised – your Fantasy League pro auctions now complete.

I put the final piece in my 15-man squad with the capture of Mario Balotelli on Wednesday evening, he’ll work in a dubious partnership with Robin Van Persie to carry my hopes over the group stages.

Of course, the League Chairman should now have moved their games on and paved the way for sealed bidding to start on transfers. I’ve set my league to allow transfers after every set of Group matches, with a first deadline at 10pm on June 11 – I’m limiting bids to 5 per round with 20 over the tournament as a whole. Your chairman might have done different – that’s certainly one of the interesting elements of the Pro game.

Chairman can set your sealed bids deadline for the first round of transfers via their Chairman’s Office, by clicking on Sealed Bids. Here you can set a deadline for managers to make bids for the remaining free agents. You go back to this screen on the deadline to process the bids – watch out for any bids made after the deadline when you do. By default, managers can make unlimited transfers over the tournament – if you want to restrict that, you can do so, again via the Chairmans Office. This initial screen is also where a Chairman can change the cap on the number of players per country – I’m tweaking mine to 4 after the group stages are complete.

If there are any Chairman struggling to move their game on past the auction phase, due to final bids not being made or teams failing to make bids, then they should contact prosupport@fantasyleague.com asap. Provide details of your division id (available in the url of your league page) and the team id’s effected (available in the url of the teams in question) and they will resolve the issue so you can move you games on in time for today’s kick-off.

Fantasy League Classic

If you missed out on the Fantasy League Pro action, and you’re still looking out for an alternative to your McDonalds lineup, you can still take advantage of the Fantasy League Classic game. Entry to this is £5 with over £10,000 in the prize pot, including £5,000 to the winner.

    Morning chaps,

Would really appreciate any feedback on this team. Not completely convinced about Obrainiak or Young but not sure who to replace him with (0 in the bank).

    Szczesny, Given
Alba, M Olsson, Maniatis, Strinic, Limbersky,
    Obraniak, Ozil, Afellay, Shirokov, Young,
    Klose, RVP, Ibrahimovic

Sorry for the repost...lost on last page.

Forgive the possibly stupid question, I haven’t been giving this much attention until now, but if I plan to wildcard after week 1, am I best off activating it immediately tonight and swapping people in and out for price rises a la FPL?

Unless I’m missing something this seems the way to go.

    Anyone?

I haven't really followed the McDs comp in detail because I'm not playing it, but is there an argument that there would be the most transfer activity after GW3 as that's when half the teams get eliminated?

You get unlimited transfers for the quarter finals and still have a wildard to play at any stage.
I don't think prices can change during a matchday over the four days but not sure. ie if Jelavic suddenly becomes 6m at the start of this matchday I don't know if he can change again to 7m before matchday 2? If he can change mid matchday sounds like a good plan. But how will you pick if you're waiting to see how your players form is in the remaining matchday games?

Go for Ward or Given. Both drop points if Ireland concede. 3 fairly expensive backs, maybe downgrade 1 to upgrade midfielders cos you can have a 2-5-3 formation at the end of your matchday.

boateng to perquis/boenisch for polish defensive coverage (don't see many teams without one) alternatively you could make cech szeszney as czech rep ain't very good. although personally i'd go isaksson instead for even more savings. should give you some dough to upgrade eriksen whose group is horrible. also maniatis can't be overlooked. a 4 mil defender in a strong defennsive team who's likely to play mid

Coral are running an accumulator on players to be top scorer for their own team (can't link - can't access at work), and you can include as many teams as you choose...according to my calculations £5 on the following, for example, would net you £9k!

    Lewandowski/Poland - 15/8
    Kelavic/Cro - 7/2
    Torres/Spain - 4/1
    RVP/Holland - 2/1
    Shirokov/Russia - 9/1

There's my lunchbreak filled. Any other top scorers more likely you think?

Here goes, feel free to tie me in knots and rip me to shreds... or just comments would be nice.

    Szczesny,

    Ignashevic, Alba, Kadlec,

    Modric, VDV, Dzagoev, Larsson,

not to sure on VDV as he most probably will be coming of the bench. either have afellay or sneijder.
alba is also a doubt to start so think about changing him out.
other than that not too many problems but there are a few longshots in that team, either can be a good thing or bad thing, we will see.

      Nice team. 7.5/10.
      Lindergaard wont start, Anderson will.
Kadlec is unlikely to keep clean sheets but if you just want him for pens thats fine.
      Not too sure on VDV
Benzema is an injury doubt with his back.

Other than that it looks good.

McClean won't start. 100%. Prob won't even get a run against Croatia.Andersen is the Danish keeper. Van der Vaaart almost definitely not a starter. Your backs are fairly pricey, you only need two to score points, can have a 2-5-3 formation at the end of the matchday.Nice forwards. Downgrade VDV, upgrade keeper ,some defenders and would change Larsson. But Larsson choice is yours, he never gave me any luck in EPL, prob will score buckets and loads of assists if you leave him out! Modric won't get many assists and prob no goals.

Not heard Cabaye mentioned once. Does noone think he will be good for assists or the odd goal?

Playing quite deep for France, so Malouda, Nasri and Ribery are more likely to pick up the points. Also they're playing England so his chances of returns are slight.

Don't even know if he'll start at this stage. He has a lot more attacking flair around him for France than with The Toon.

Hi guys, any obvious flaws with this bunch?

    Szczesny, Given

Alba, Zhirkov, Debuchy, Gebre Selassie, Maniatis

    Ozil, Sneijder, Błaszczykowski, Yarmolenko, Shirokov

    RVP, Ibrahimovic, Jelavic

Originally had Cech and Perquis, but more confident in Szczesny than Cech and it's easier to swap out a failing defender. Pretty sure (hopeful) Selassie is first choice RB for Czechs.

I would, Affelay seems to be nailed on for a start against Denmark.

Surely they'll be starting with VDV, RVP, Sneijder and Robben? Huntelaar would surely be ahead of Afellay even if RVP had to move out of position?
