The ScoutCast – Episode Eighty Three – Kids

The latest episode, created mid-afternoon today, was not recorded amidst a playground, although, at times, the background noise and smutty innuendo would suggest as much.

While the fruit of our loins play merrily in adjacent rooms, Granville and I retire to find some quiet and systematically pull apart another week of Fantasy football with all the usual regulars thrown in. Granville has a 22-point lead to show for his efforts, while I’m doing all I can to remain calm after what can best be described as a false start. The green arrows are coming. Surely they’re coming?

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

So I think I'm down to these 2 options this week - whatcha think guys? Any better options?

    a) Podolski -> Suarez (with Suarez probably -> Ba in GW9)
    b) Save the transfer

    Jaask, (Federici)
    Baines, Hughes, Clyne, (McCartney), (Cuellar)
    Bale, Barfa, Michu, Pienaar, (Guthrie)
    RVP, Tevez, Podolski

Yes.. you'll want to do it for the Reading game the gameweek after, anyway.

Tevez is still a great player but I can't look past City having 4 great strikers. All of them will be rotated to some degree and they're not cheap enough to bench, imo. Nailed on strikers scoring in other teams for less.

No transfers made, any need for one?

    Jaask/Fed

    Baines-Ridgewell-Demel-Cuellar-Hangeland

    Yaya-Hazard-Pienaar-Michu-Sterling

    RVP-Tevez-Berba

I was all set on either 1. Yaya & Berba -> Bale & Lambert OR 2. Yaya & Tevez -> Bale & Ba but now I think i’m gonna sit tight and keep the 2 fts for the break.

    Any thoughts/suggestions?

Struggling to make up my mind. HBA to Mata/Bale/Silva (which one) or stick and have 2 free transfers?

Pros: Mata @ home vs Norwich. Such a bad defence as i`ve never seen.
    Bale: Villa arent much better.
Silva: Recovering form and looks to play in the hole again where he thrives.

Cons: 2 FT are amazing especially after international break.
HBA can explode against a poor United defence.

    Any input?

I have HBA and wouldn't have the privilege of a straight swap to any of those players...however if I did I would be tempted by Bale in particular. Don't like Chelsea's fixtures...which is partly the reason I got rid of Hazard the week before. I'm keeping HBA for this week probably with 2FT in mind for the int. break. Plus he's performed only at home this year and so it'd be stupid to take a hit or anything to get him out. By the way I have Ba so I'd prefer to only have one of them going forward.

I`ve got the money to spend since i recently did Hazard -> Fellaini due to the formers drop in form and their fixtures coming up, which would make Mata kind of a silly transfer even though im expecting Chelsea to win comfortably. I was going to use that money to do Michu -> Cazorla after GW9, but suddenly Gervinho has become more attractive. Thing is HBA does great at home, he can basically perform against any team and United with the defensive worries that they have would make them a prime picking for a playful Hateem. However, Bale does tempt me not only this weekend, but Chelsea fixture aside they have some on paper nice fixtures ahead. Im usually not one to be chasing points, but i have no Spurs players atm which is kind of a worry.

Having 2 FT with over £3m in the bank can really be useful though, can maneuver pretty well with that...

Bale is definitely the more explosive option, Silva could be a great option too but he's the same price as Tevez and there's Aguero who could be a good buy too. Silva's price is the thing that puts me off slightly...he might be really consistent but will he score as many goals as the likes of Bale? It's a tricky situation at the moment, I'd love to make some transfers but like you said, 2FT over the break will be really handy...plus anything could happen in all that time...injuries etc...Depends really if you want to gamble this weekend...

Not sure if i want to gamble, feel like i would be chasing points if i got either of the mentioned ones, since i kept Tevez for Suarez last weekend and got rid of Hazard just 2 weeks ago. And since i have Tevez i dont really need more City atm, and Chelsea have horrible fixtures going forward. Bale is pretty much the only one im seriously considering. But i dont feel too good about transferring out a proven home-player like HBA when Spurs managed to nick 3 at Old Trafford and they still have lots of injuries. Think im going to gamble on no transfers and having 2 after the break. GL me

Bottom of last page, so apologies for the repost...

I’m down to these 2 options this week – whatcha think guys?

    a) Podolski -> Suarez (with Suarez probably -> Ba in GW9)
    b) Save the transfer

    MERITS OF BOTH

    a) Suarez is on fire and he thrashes Podolski in the comparison stats. He is almost guarenteed 90 mins each week, whereas Podolski only seems to get 70 mins. Suarez also has 2 home games vs Podolski's 2 away games.

    b) Suarez uses up more cash and a free transfer, especially as I'd probably want rid after GW8. Most peeps also expect the Stoke game to be a tight affair.

    Jaask, (Federici)
    Baines, Hughes, Clyne, (McCartney), (Cuellar)

    Gervnho

Not brought him in yet, but one reason why I think Wenger is trying him as a striker (other than he's actually scoring goals), is his interchanging with Podolski on the left.

In the final third, Podolski is playing very narrow, coming in off the flank and allowing Gibbs to provide the width - but also he'll play 10 minutes or so central with Gervinho switching. Several of Arsenal goals have resulted from this approach and I think its a valid reason to consider Gervinho's place in the team as pretty secure at the moment.

Cause I think better options around for that money. I know people are a bit crazy for Everton at the moment but I think Baines might just be enough. For example if look at berba for that spot if he is fit or double up on Spurs with Defoe. But Jelly is not a bad idea, was just sharing my personal opinion.

yo man! dunno how im even typin at this time, training tonight killed me! anyways...

haha yeah, im jsut really fancying arsenal at the moment, with fellaini being too much of a shot in the dark for me to be honest. i really dont fancy rafael with uniteds fixtures coming up, we are leaky, and can guarentee we'll concede at newcastle, we just will.

have downgraded shawcross to wilson to see how it looks as suggested above

Haha, thought as much, must have taken it out of you.

Fair enough with Arsenal mate, but then you should keep some money about just in case you need to invest in some other midfielder, possibly planning ahead thinking if Silva gets better for example.. Especially with the Good city games that are coming up how can you ignore them?

haha yep! first session was was conditioning, 10 minute run, 50 leg raises, 50 burpees and pylosquats 50 press ups, and 100 squats, and thats just the warm up! so had that then gym inbetween starting circuit training! mad i tell thee lol.

very fair point, was thinking this, like how can i reserve the cash i need, honestly i have not got a clue, coz all that leaves me with exactly zilch in the bank lol,it would have to be cazorla to silva i guess with a transfer made the week before from another player to make up the 0.3 difference or something.

oh wait, no, i could jsut do a straight swap caz >>> silva if i keep wilson as stoke def instead of shawx.

              OR

i could shove in silva now for cazorla with gervinho involved, but liek i say i like cazorla too much, arrrghh the decisions!

What the hell are you doing. Go to bed you stupid mental man. How can you do that... I ain't fat or anything but I can barely drag my ass out of bed. Im in the process of applying for bloody jobs and everything atm.

Yea maybe with the scratching the surface transfers really, like Shawcross -> Wilson 0.5 saved there. Little bits will get you everywhere, but then it might not be Silva you are after... It could ba Yaya or Nasri on form... who are cheaper so you could be easily off. Silva is worse case scenario.

On another note I fear I may need a WC soon.

Yeah i'll play it by here and keep caz, monitor silva in the background, seems logical, get him in if he does well, it is proven how many goals they can bag in though.

haha! i know i know, im getting off in a few mins anyway, had enough. i used to be fat, didnt show coz im quite tall, but still i knew last year i was getting a bit big, so ive dropped like 3 stone since last November and can even see abs now! well happy lol. job searching is just as knackering though man, best of luck with that.

yeah every little bit saved counts, makes all the difference, and i know yeah, thats true as well, wouldnt be surprised if it was even dzeko on everyone's watchlist if he does well, could be anyone that catches the eye instead of silva.

Wildcarding aint a bad idea i reckon, people say save it, but if you really can substantially improve the squad then i say go for it.

right, i think thats me, think im gonna get off in a min 🙂

Hmm, to spend a transfer or not..

I have a few defensive problems, with doubts over Federici, Zabaleta, Cuellar and McCartney, but am happy to leave my keepers for this week.
Due to city's troubles at the back, and doubts over Zab's starting position he seems most likely to go, any thoughts?
Physio Room says Richards and Maicon could both be back this weekend unfortunately.

    Foster, Federici
    Baines, Cole, Zabaleta, Cuellar, McCartney
    Kagawa, Hazard, Michu, Pienaar, Noble
    Tevez, Suarez, Lambert

    A) Zabaleta to Hughes/Hangeland
    B) Zabaleta to Sagna
    C) Noble to Sterling/Kacaniclic
    D) No transfer

Cheers guys, thats pretty conclusive, I'll save the transfer and see how things go this weekend, hopefully Zab will play, and if not Cuellar might be back.

I don't like seeing Noble and McCartney dropping in price, they've lost 0.3 between them already, but neither is in any immediate danger, so I think i'll leave it.

Currently playing the old wildcard, have Michu still from the start of the season, would be looking to bring Cazorla in for him, people reckon leave it until next week or do it now and save the future transfer. West ham have been pretty solid at the back especially at home but then swansea have been struggling for goals as of late and reading looked a lot better at newcastle last week, will probably see this as an opportunity to get some points on the board. Thoughts?

Basically Michu or Cazorla for this week.
