Monitor – Hatem Ben Arfa

A series of eye-catching performances in the last few months of the previous campaign had Fantasy managers queuing up to acquire the services of Hatem Ben Arfa. Having struggled to convince Alan Pardew of a regular role in the Newcastle starting XI, the Frenchman finally flourished on Tyneside as Newcastle moved to 4-3-3 but while a shift back to 4-4-2 has benefitted Demba Ba this season, Ben Arfa hasn’t quite delivered.

The opening three Gameweeks had looked promising. Notching in each of his first two home matches, Ben Arfa seemed set to rack up the points but since grabbing his side’s only goal in the Gameweek 3 draw with Villa, his Fantasy owners have been served up nothing more than a solitary assist.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Decision time tonight on the Caz > Bale move.

    Cazorla (mun, FUL, TOT)
    Bale (WIG, mci, ars)

Cazorla, one difficult away game followed by two competitive derbies at home...
Bale...one easy-ish home game followed by two difficult away games.

This is going to wreck my head for a few hours more.

Bought Cazorla at 9.2 (due to fall to 9.4...so I won't lose value right away)
Bale is 9.6...due to rise to 9.7 and I can only afford a straight swap before 2am tonight.

Any help/thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

I think there's no doubt Arsenal have the better fixtures right up until Xmas.

Arsenal and Spurs are rotatable Home and Away and for some reason are HH/AA quite a lot...so swapping between them would on paper seem like a clever idea..but then you factor in that neither are performing their best at home...so it's tricky!

Bale hasn't scored at home for a run of 12 games...that's pretty remarkable eh?

I might find myself doing Caz > Walcott some time later!

It's potentially a sideways move, however while Cazorla only has failed to deliver so far, Bale is a proven FPL points scorer, albeit slightly random.

If you can't make any more definite improvements, why not.

The article reveals that Ben Arfa is really an alien from space and that FIFA has just decided to allow him to use his laser gun in matches. So if you own any Liverpool players, you should maybe sell because they may be vaporized.

Quick question; I'm worried my team value will make it impossible to to my transfer after this deadline. Got 1.1 in the bank now, have Foster and Wilson, need Bego and Evans. If he got Wilson in at 4.5m, his current price raised to 4.6m - his selling price is still 4.5m. If his current price drops to 4.5m, his selling price will remain at 4.5m.

Therefore it makes no difference whether his current value is £4.5m or £4.6m when sold as he will get £4.5m in the bank.

IMO Oscar, Mata & Hazard are the best midfield 3 in the Premiership, whilst Mata & Hazard have already delivered points wise, its just a matter of time before Oscar does the same.

For 7.8 he's excellent value provided you can get your timing right!

Is it worth keeping Giroud with the upcoming fixtures (after United) or should I be looking to sell and run without looking back?

Probably not, think he could chip in with a few goals though. Will likely sell for Ba next GW (probably not worth a hit this week is it? Assuming Ba's fit)

so far so good on that. Am hoping for a nice big DGW again to use it for. I am wondering though. If I still have during the Januray wc period, will FPL automatically select the Jan wc by default. May sound like a noob question, but this is the longest I've ever held onto my wc for.

Cabaye - One less goal and one more assist than Barfa last season, 1 million cheaper and 10% less ownership.

But stats can sometimes be misleading.

If Newcastle switch back to 4-3-3 then both become appealing, if not then neither do really.

I'd bank if you only had one FT, but as you can use one for free, maybe doing something about Demel could be wise (McCartney?)

    Team for the weekend:

    Foster
    Shawcross - Rigdewell - Baines
    McAnuff - Oscar - Bale - Morrison
    Jela - RVP - Defoe

    Sub. Fed - Michu - R.Ferdinand - McCartney

    Question 1: Should Michu start?
Question 2: Do I need any change?
Thinking of getting rid of R.Ferdinand. -> Rafael or Evans (thinking of Evans because I have lost 0.1m on R.Ferdinand). Also considering Cuellar instead of Man. Utd defend. What should I do??

Guys, am I just forced to wildcard this week?

I have Ba, Berba, Gervinho, Demel, Clark and Wilson. Planning on using my FT to get out Gervinho for Morrison.

This would be my team, then, providing Clark actually plays.

    Foster

    Ivan - Baines - Clark

    Bale - Caz - Sterling - Morrison

    RVP - Berba - Ba

I'm in dire straits if a couple of those end up not playing, but haven't planned my WC properly.
