One of the highlighted players in Moneyball was Chad Bradford, who looks nothing like what scouts and fans imagine when they think about a pitcher. When he throws, his hand drops down so low on release that his knuckles literally scrape the floor. That unorthodox appearance meant that teams ignored him despite his impressive underlying numbers, until Billy Beane and his statistical staff looked beyond Bradford’s funky delivery, focused on the process and reaped the rewards. Today, the short, skinny thirty-something Leon Osman is Chad Bradford.
or also time to invest in utd defence? 😉
Open ControlsSo..... one attacker and a midfielder then..? 😉
Open ControlsI see Rooney getting returns around that of Ba TBH, at 3.4 more expensive.
Open Controlsbe a couple of hat tricks in those games...trouble with a RVP Rooney combo is that Fergie has made all sorts of comments in the last few days about having four world class strikers...it would seem rotation may get stepped up a gear...and if it is then it will be against the easier teams that RVP and/or Rooneyey will be rested...or maybe not...just saying...

About to click confirm on these bad boys:
berba+santi+foster --> rvp+mcanuff, tremmel
Any objections??
Gives me this:
bego, tremmel
baines, gallas, saylor, hughes, demel
hazard, bale, pienaar, sterling, mcanuff
rvp, tevez, baOpen Controlsat first glance the transfers look a bit off but seems you'd underinvested in attack so all looks good! go for it.
Open ControlsIs this an 8 pointer? If so step away from the keyboard. Not worth it.
Why get rid of Foster? Is this to fund RVP? Unwise imo.Open ControlsYes to fund RVP, and its only a 4pter 😉

What's happening with Cuellar?! I brought Wilson in last week and Cuellar was meant to replace him 🙁
Open ControlsWhat do you mean? Wilson played last week.
Open Controls
Pick two: Nelsen (RDG), Riise (EVE), Shawcross (nor)
Open ControlsRiise and shawx for me.

@Count Monte
Damn you made me listen to fun music, have to go out now 😀 first beer officially cracked. Still have not made my transfer :D, not a safe situation.Open ControlsWhat you listening to out of question?

2 gripes if I may. "Michu will start despite 4 yellows". Sorry but what exactly would he being saved for if not Chelsea (H)? And Leon Osman moneyball is just literally ridiculous. He was always a disappointment as an attacking midfielder but now he is deep he is just pointless.
Open ControlsYou sure pissed on their bonfires... 🙄

Caught on last page sorry,
So after I do Vorm > Julio Cesar tonight, team will be:
Julio Cesar – (Begovic)
Baines – Walker – Hughes – (McCartney) – (Stam)
Cazorla – Morrison – Walters – Noble – (Pienaar)
RVP (C) – Aguero – Berbatov
Good to go? Any other suggestions?Open ControlsCool team. I want Julio Cesar but I think he's just a little over-priced. I'm going Tremmel, playing Bego for a while and using the extra 1.0 in midfield.
Open ControlsCheers mate, so you think is a good transfer? Don't want to just leave Vorm festering there, and think the rest of my team is somewhat solid for the moment so that is a priority. Plus Cesar rotates well with Begovic, and can throw him in this weekend at home to Reading.

Hello everyone! Shall I bench Clyne (mba) or Reid (MCI)??
Open ControlsGirlfriend's birthday tomorrow... On a wildcard. Morning should really be taken up cooking breakfast, getting flowers, giving presents etc.
A) Finalise wildcard now - missing out on Defoe's 0.1 rise which is the difference between McCartney and Nelsen.
B) Gamble on getting a half hour window to sort my FPL life out in and amongst b-day duties - make my excuses etc.
?Open Controlswerd, you only get one birthday
Open Controls
Can't you just get up really early and make your changes then.
The price rises are at 3:30am BST. Get up at like 6, make your changes, then go about your duties 😉Open ControlsThis is the one I think. Alarm clock do your worst.
Open ControlsI avoid all this by finalizing the night before.
Granted, I am in the U.S. so the price changes happen at 10:30pm here. Enough time to decide then go to bed.
Too many times a last minute knee jerk has cost me. Choose the reasonable captain, then rest knowing you made the logical decision.Open ControlsEvery time I see a post from Camzy I click your link to see of I'm doing better. You had that season 2010/11 when you could do no wrong on here, and your advice was sought after.
I'm not doing better btw. But only just... 😉Open Controls
A.
The sex will be better then maybeOpen ControlsSort it in the morning and take her out to brunch you cheapskate! 🙂
Open ControlsLess time to agonise over Oscar(c) while the eggs are poaching, EJ! (but yes, this is a good shout actually - there's a good place over the road for that)
Open Controls
Get her really drunk tonight to make sure she doesn't wake up before deadline.

Every day this week I have returned home to read the list of injuries like The Somme. Just fielding XI this week is an achievement!
Open ControlsGreat article. Hate that Michu has such high ownership. Must get him in soon.
Open Controlsshould have got more Irish players or Celtic players in your team 😉

need a DEF to replace Wilson, am I really gonna get Nelson!! Cuellar being doubtful has got me thinking this is the best option for 4.5 mill & under, Jeeez, bad times!!
Open ControlsLost on last post:
I reckon there might be one or two in this position, so I’m going to set out my problem and subject my thinking to the abuse and mockery it probably deserves:
Problem:
1. If I keep Mata and he does not play then one of Britton, Gorkss, or Clyne will: 2 points at best.
2. I have earned 0.1 on Mata and bought him at 9.2; chances are he will be back at 9.2 by next Friday (he has dropped from 95% to 86% on Fiso in the last few hours).
Solution:
Switch Mata for Valencia (whom I want in anyway). If he scores 6 or more I pay for the hit, and I can get Mata in next week for Cazorla without a loss of value (assuming Cazorla does not come good this weekend). The only loss in that scenario is that it will claim next week’s FT, but of course I was likely to use it to get Valencia anyway. Downside, of course, is that Valencia could return a 2.
Thoughts?Open ControlsMikel - CHE - £4.5m
3, 2, 3, 3, 4, 2, 2, 1
I need to a new bench warmer to replace Guthrie, and Mikel has started every league game so far. He has just 1 yellow card and also a nice chance for a couple of cleansheet points too.
I play a 3-4-3 formation, so he needs to be the cheapest possible midfielder that is certain to start.
Any better options?Open ControlsBritton if thats your plan
Open ControlsPuncheon.
But I'd spend on Sterling or Noble as a fifth. The 5th choice mid has been needed for the last two weeks, and probably this week for me too.Open ControlsI don't see the need to pay any extra for a 5th midfielder as I never stray from a 3-4-3 formation. The only time I use him is if any injuries occur, as I'd rather him play for 2 points than waste a transfer or take a -4 point hit.
Open ControlsThat is my approach, but at the moment I am feeling it because I have Mata and am not best pleased to have 9.4 million on the bench while Britton gets me a 2. I guess it's swings and roundabouts: I have more to spend on my day-in, day-out players, but it hurts when one of them is injured and you can't even dream that your bench fodder will come through with more than a 2.
Open Controls
So if S Taylor, Cuellar and Ba don't start i will be 1 short of a starting 11.
Should i take a 4 point hit. Taylor to Rafeal?? Which i plan to do next week anywayOpen Controls- Open Controls
What a bad week to own Foster and Begovic. I simply cannot decide. Been switching them all week
Open Controlsneed to get rid of demel for a bench fodder defender , was thinking nelson, any others?
Open ControlsDefoe good long term option next to RVP and Tevez?
Open ControlsAny news on Saylor? If he doesn't play this week I might ship him next week..
Open ControlsLet me get this straight...the only evidence that we have is that RDM said both Mata and Luiz are 'very doubtful' for the trip? That's it right?
Open Controls🙂 "his head is seperated 3 metres from his body; might get some minutes".
Open ControlsNothing. I'm just asking is that all the news we have...stop being cheeky.
Open ControlsPot... kettle... black? 😉
Yes, that is all we have but one presumes the manager knows the fitness of his players.Open Controls
Hey beric! Long time man, how's life? Oh really? What's the prognosis?
Open ControlsI don't have him so I don't know all that much. I heard he limped off in the week, and they want him for CL in the week. I think he might get a cameo.
Life is good thanks! Living in London now 🙂
How are you?Open Controls
Actually, it'd be nice to get the opinions of some others here.
I need 0.6m to upgrade Aguero to RVP.
A) Jaask to Tremmel/McCarthy
B) Rafael to Sagna
C) HBA to Pie/Fellaini
Any standout option?Open ControlsA for me.

Open Controlshaven't people realised cazorla only gets goals and assists away instead of selling after 1 bad week. saying that do want bale though
Open ControlsFor once, he's off the money. Osman is not yet on form, if the stats are true. And you all know how nutty I am about these things! 😉
Open ControlsTrue. Figures up top do not correspond with members figures. 😀

Time to buy attacking players from Man Utd. Their next fixtures: Arsenal (H), Villa (A), Norwich (A), QPR (H), West Ham (H) and Reading (A). I can see at least two goals in every match from Utd, probably some clean sheets as well. I'm considering having Van Persie and Rooney in my team.
