The Big Numbers – Gameweek 10

Another unplayable performance from Marouane Fellaini, ably supported by a string of outstanding Everton displays, lights up this weekend’s Big Numbers analysis, while the likes of Pablo Hernandez, Christian Benteke, Nicky Shorey, Robin Van Persie and Luis Suarez crash the party. Here’s our choice of the key statistics on show in the Gameweek so far…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Yeah, my hand was a little forced with all the injury doubts last week. I did end up ditching Mata though, which could come back to haunt me. I'll just have to hope he keeps quiet until I look to bring him back in a few weeks....

I am admitting that I am well and truly addicted to a) FPL and b) FFS. I spend more time on this website than any other website on the net, even vastly outweighting various mega porn sites and since I have no Facebook, that too.

Is there something I should be worried about? Maybe I should take a break from this site? I was flying at this point last year, and I wasn't aware of this site then.

What am I saying, I love this site and you lot......i dooooooooooooooont know ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh im crumbling. ''Crackin up he's crackin up....crackin up he's crackin up'' 🙂

I spend hours a day contemplating hits, transfers, form, fixtures, values, rises and drops, looking at other peoples teams, looking at my friends teams and so on.................im an addict.

Is there a fantasy footy anonymous or summat???

59 pts with Gera left to play (Gorkss 1st sub). Transferred out deadwood like Guthrie, Demel, Wilson and bought Fellaini and Gera 🙂

    Bego
    Baines Cameron Gorkks
    Mata Bale Cazorla Fellaini
    RVP Ba Suarez

Subs Tremmel Gera Clyne Nelsen, 1FT, 0.0 in the bank

Hey Fellow Fantasists? RMT pls -

    Foster
    Baines - McCauley - Reid
    Cazorla - Mata* - Michu - Pienaar
    RVP - Ba* - Lukaku
SUBS: Jaasi - Kightly - Gorks - Clyne

£0.3 banked & 1FT. I resisted Pienaar>Fellaini price rise move. Gonna see if Lukaku does anything this evening.
Can you see any moves I should consider? Maybe Jaasi>Bego or Kightly>£5.8 MID?

Thanks Ken, I'm with you on Fletcher. Just got Sagna so no transfers this week but Fletcher will go unless he has an out-of-body experience and Messi starts to inhabit his body when he's gone. Gonna keep Mirallas for a while, his confidence is growing and very under-rated . He'll go soon enough though if he doesn't get some goals to complement his assists.

Besides Cesar no one on that team would make a top 6 side. Taraabt is well over rated I reckon, looks good in Championship. Boswingwa, decent for a time at Chelsea, better attacker than defender, ultimately sold on. Wright Phillips, Ciise, Zamora, Nelsen and a few others have left their best days behind them. Granero and Hoilett seem the only real potential. I honestly think Barton, lout and all as he was, would give them that bit of fight. I heard that the wages are 200% of income, baled out by Fernandes. If they were paid on a performance rated basis most would be paying QPR after every game.

They don't seem to be much of a unit. And I agree...I think some of their players are living off their reputations. It's a bit odd how wayward everything seems to be going for them...it's like they just signed a big bunch of 'names' and stuck them together...no cohesion or team spirit. I can't believe they even stayed up last year...it was a miracle...only thanks to other's ineptitude really! It was their home form that saved them...but they're not even winning games this season...looks like trouble.

Holding for one more, two more weeks at most and then downgrading and using funds in my midfield. Wish i could start the year again with a back 5 of 4-4.5mils. No regrets though.

Decent mid and strikers. Lose Baines, Nelsen and McCartney and balance up your defence. Too reliant on Baines to the detriment of the other back. Most weeks if Everton concede Baines return does not reflect his price. A better balanced defence gives you more options.

What do you guys make of the hysteria about Wenger 'losing his way' at the moment...seems to be all over the media. It's around that time of the season where journalists smell blood and want to see the first sacking. It's crazy how hard a time Wenger gets from the media...I think if he was to go Arsenal would lose it's soul...they need his philosophy and don't need to be messing about thinking they can be title contenders if they just spent millions...and brought in some amateur. Losing a player like Van Persie is just about the biggest blow a team can take...especially if it's to their rivals. Personally I hope they prove the doubters wrong over the next 10 fixtures..and I hope they have Cazorla to thank for it!

Personally I think it will be years again before they challenge for anything of any significance. No chance in the C.L and even less a chance at winning the league.

Wenger could be there another 20 years, but unless something fundamentally flawed changes at the club, they'll continue to be a huge club who are still far off the top, where they once were a short while ago.

soooo much criticism every season but yet they still manager to qualify for CL!

though honestly think how good they'd be if they had their current team plus all the players they've sold in the last 2-3 years, i'd say they'd be strong title contenders if that was the case. (though have to say I'm thankful they sold us cesc and song).

for me either i ship ba for rvp, berb for rvp, or lambert for rooney. couple possibilities all for either -4 or -8.

for you maybe ship. but i might be tempted to wait a week and then get suarez next week

Personally I wouldn't touch even if I was using your points, until he is under 9m and showing some kind of form week in week out. Let's face it, although he was getting back to form, he is a country mile off the player he was this time last year.

He'll never be under 9m....I don't think it's possible...but 9.2/9.3 considering he started at 10 could be decent value in my eyes...he'd be the ultimate differential at such low ownership. I think he makes City tick...they badly need him back on form...Tevez is doing all the Silva work for the time being...but it's not working out as well at the moment...once Silva is back I think City will be back firing. Anyway...I just love Silva...one of my favourite players to watch.

Problem is, how to incorporate him?

It's hard enough spreading wealth the rest, now we throw Silva in the mix again!

Sounds like we'll be trumping the golden mid of Silva Mata Bale Caz again in a couple weeks, and you can kiss RVP goodbye with dreams of those 4 in the mid.

No chance....pick two of those and that's it for me.

i've thought about that. but you're overlooking a few things: 1) captaincy 2) not sure if any of those 3 will score rvp corners 3) rvp fk' 4) rvp pens? not sure about his one though

Rooney cannot sit back and let RVP take everything. Freekicks from the left side of the box should and probably will be Rooneys, although it would clearly make sense to have RVP take ones from the right side.

Pens I will give you....but....you dont know if it will be rooney or RVP from now on, regardless of Rooneys last miss.

It was just a thought and I think you are both right.

RVP 100% on pens now.. Rooney's conversion rate is only 65%, pretty shite for a class striker of his ability.

Short term, now that the fixtures are good, I'd say go for it!

Valencia is quality but not quiet hitting the heights yet this season. Avoid him until he does. If you want RVP that badly ( over-priced in my opinion) get rid of Tevez, Vertonghen and Baines, yes Baines. RVP, Gorkss and other cheapie defender.
