Mata Back In Training

Juan Mata returned to training today with Chelsea, on the eve of their Champions League tie with Shakhtar Donetsk. The Spaniard missed Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Swansea with a hamstring injury, along with Brazilian defender, David Luiz. Both were involved in Chelsea’s session today and Roberto Di Matteo remarked in his press conference earlier that the pair will be assessed before he decides on whether they will be included for tomorrow evening’s tie.

“We need to wait for the last session tonight to check the availability for tomorrow and see how they come through tonight in the training session.”

Mata would now seem highly likely to be in the frame for the a return to league action when Chelsea take on Liverpool at the weekend. Indeed, Mata’s Fantasy owners will likely be hoping that the playmaker is handed an extended rest tomorrow evening, to keep him fresh and preserved for Sunday’s encounter.

Mata has been sold by almost 20,000 trigger happy Fantasy Premier League managers this week, having risen from 8.9 to 9.4 since Gameweek 8 following a storming run of form that has seen him fetch four goals and five assists in his previous five league starts.

    So many people bringing Fellaini another rise coming tonight for him & i can see why but with him one yellow away from a ban & he does love a yellow card then surely a wagon to avoid for now?

    Oooh just seen the NL derby around the corner. Notoriously high scoring game, i don't feel comfortable going into it with only Bale.

    Hazard > Walcott.... thoughts? Surely he's going to be starting from now on?

          the only question mark is over Wenger's opinion on him regarding the contract negotiations etc. how are you doing anyway? who are you chasing/. how many points to make up. I'm now only 2 points off my ML leader

            Yeah, that's what's stopped him from getting starts since the opening day of the season. Think with Arsenal having a couple of bad results recently, he's been almost forced to change things and start Walcott now. I think they'll put the contract saga to one side now...atleast until January.

            I'm fine thanks, and your good self? In the lead in my main ML but just... 5 points in it. Playing for quite a bit of cash so need to keep going!
