The ScoutCast – Episode Eighty Seven – The Hole

We just won’t let it lie. Having rinsed through the idea in this week’s Digest, the prospect of dropping this new breed of “in the hole” midfielders into a new Fantasy position gets another airing in this week’s ‘Cast. Granville agrees but we still somehow manage to argue about it.

Around that particular hot topic, there’s our usual brand of regulars, plus a preview of the two sides that lie in wait for us in the Fantasy Football Scout Cup and the latest on Ed’s team and his work on the new comments system. “Mr Ghostship” had a bad week – could it be all the attention has piled the pressure on his big coding shoulders?

Take up the role in the hole by clicking this link, or just stream the business in your browser via the player below….

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Hi folks.

This year I do not have enough time to hang around with you.

Can I leave my team like this?

    Begovic
    Baines - JEvans - Cameron
    Bale - Santi - Mata - Pienaar
    Ba - Berbatov - Rooney (c)

Subs: Foster - Sterling - Nelsen - Demel

Already did two tansfers: Jevans for Riise and Rooney for Aguero

I know, RvP, but I am stubborn and going for differential. its a game.

Thanks. This season I have a bad lack with transfers. They either get injured (Wilson, Demel, Berbatov, Ba) or those transfered out get into form (RvP, Tevez)

I'm not overly confident with Newcastle's defence at the moment given the absent players. Long-term it's solid, especially if you have Cuellar.

sorta, after recovering from injury, players usually hav to get back to fitness, but not overplay which might make the injury worse(doesn't apply to VIPlayers), so he should start but get subbed off or get a cameo, unless he really is that important

NEW vs WHM fixture draws a lot of goals in their recent meetings, so if we don't get him now, it's a missed out on points when the GW ends.

I think this might be the first week for me in FPL history where I simply burn a free transfer due to having 2 freebies and not wanting to make any changes!

I wouldn't dare remove Bale, even though his fixtures are bad (especially since I bought him at £9.3m) and I don't have enough cash (£0.3m) to upgrade Pie to Fellaini.

Would it be a sin to do nothing?!?!?!

Interesting idea. Tremmel looks to have a place in the team for the next 6 or so, taking me up to around GW16/17. The £0.7m would be handy, but I would have to get a playing back-up keeper back in on my January WC and would have to pay for it. I bought Juusi at £4.5m and I see him rising still. I'll think about that for sure! Cheers

horrible fixtures in the next two months, begovich is playable almost everyweek - you might free up some needed cash.

Cheers, increasingly considering this. I can free up £0.7m and there's only a couple of gameweeks in the next 8 where I'd have considered playing Juusi.

Just hope Bego doesn't get rotated with Sorenson! Only need to decide if I'd be happy without backup once Vorm is back, espcially considering that Sorenson will get games at some point. Would have to use a chunk of cash to get Juusi back then I reckon.

Do you think he will play Sorensen at some point? I find the idea of giving your reserve keeper a run-out in the league a bit odd. I know he's done it before but I thought that was a case of giving him a chance to claim no.1 spot, and I think Bego has that well and truly nailed now.

I know what you're saying makes sense but he's done it over the last two seasons, usually playing one in the league and one in cup competitions. Sorenson just signed a new contract at the start of the season as well.

I've got Begovic and McCarthy (Reading guy) as my two keepers. But McCarthy is injured. Any idea when he'll be back? I've played my WC so I don't mind getting in someone else, but he's cheap and I'm pretty much going to play Begovic over the next few weeks. But his price might fall so I'm a bit confused.
If need be to remove him, I do have 1.3m in the bank. Any suggestions?

I think Cazorla could be worth taking out after this weekend.

He plays for Spain in Panama on Wednesday night and then against Spurs in the early kickoff next Saturday. He already looks tired. Could see him rested for next GW.

All this talk about categories for attacking midfielders is total crap. These players can be moved about in the season and find themselves not playing in the attacking role. Also it is over complicating what is a beautiful system. This is typical of England we over complicate things.

Arsenal will still keep more clean sheets than Newcastle over the season.
