Monitor – Olivier Giroud

Having started each of Arsenal’s last five league matches, there seems to be no question that Olivier Giroud is currently Arsene Wenger’s number one forward. While Theo Walcott and Lukas Podolski have both made claims for a central role, the Gunners boss is clearly determined to afford his compatriot regular game time and, with his confidence flourishing, Giroud is beginning to deliver:

A double against Fulham at the weekend was the first time the former Montpellier man has scored at the Emirates this season and post-match, Giroud revealed his self-belief never wavered, in spite of his scoring drought:

“I feel better and better. I’m confident about my qualities. I never give up. When I didn’t score at the beginning of the season I stayed confident and always worked on my mind and my game. It’s not a surprise for me [his good form]. I want to play a lot of good games like tonight to succeed [and] to win a lot of games with my new club. I have to score and continue [to do so].”

      Depending what happens this weekend I will be looking at getting Giroud. Been thinking of selling Santi for weeks now and wanted to get gioud in as arsenal cover. Sold Santi this week so will be keeping my eye on Giroud.
      
      To be honest if I had a free transfer I still wouldn't change any of my forwards (RVP, Suarez, Berbatov)

Can anyone help me with my keeper problem, just cant work out what to do.

I have Howard and Federici. .6m in the bank and 2FT which i dont really need anywhere else.

Tempted to do Howard to DDG. But whenever i spend money on keepers it backfires. The other obvious transfers are Begovic or Jusss but they are both not so cheap anymore and cant belive they will outscore howard over the season.

Otherwise quite pleased with my team if i can just get this right.........

  You need one cheap mid for your bench and as you don't need pieenar and felli then downgrade pienaar to a 4.5 mid poss miyachi or whoever. Then upgrade Nolan cause he's got bad fixts. The rest is fine

    This, but don'y go as far as Miyachi, it's sometimes helpful if your 5th mid can play. Sterling, maloney etc are good shouts, and should see you with enough cash to upgrade Nolan to Walcott, Valencia etc.

There is a slight chance Cazorla may not fall before Saturday 2:20am. I know the transfers in and out speed up but he needs approx 10k transfer out to drop. That'd mean his transfers out would have to increase by about 4 times it's average rate this week. He's been averaging about 2k transfers out most days.

      Well I would say that if Friday was just another day he wouldn't drop but as we know it's not ever the case. There's always an increase closer to the deadline. I think it'll be touch and go but he could easily plummet with loads of casuals making their changes.

  If you got him at 6.6, him dropping to 6.8 won't change the selling price. If at 6.5, it will.

MartinUnreal...I meant how much do the volume of transfers increase generally from a Weds night to a Thurs night to a Fri night? I think Cazorla is touch n go for a Fri night drop, as is Michu.

That said, I have a feeling that Cazorla is going to do well in the derby, very well.

  Well I've been monitoring Cazorla's NTO, and it has slowed down a bit midweek. Friday can bring some massive changes...I'm hoping he somehow miraculously avoids a drop come Saturday morning. That way I can see how it gets on and decide whether it's a good time to sell. I agree, I think the Derby could be high scoring so he might do well.

    I think that is the general pattern though, big volumes following the weekend games (point chasers, casuals and value chasers), then a midweek lull, then obviously a massive increase Friday night when most people look at their team with a cold beer and do their transfers.

Although Norwich's defence has been good, as many of us predicted pre-season, they did concede 5 to Fulham and 4 to Chelsea on the road. And even worse they conceded 5 at home to Liverpool. United should score comfortably on the weekend, Norwich have only kept clean sheets against less threatening opposition and Arsenal(when they went through a dry patch). Those with RVP (and no Chicharito 😉 ) should definitely captain Van Pricey. Just warning... 😀

  Norwich still are going to be tough to break down this season because that's their only hope of surviving. They haven't got the fire power up front so they need to be solid. The teams that have hammered them are decent sides. I'd agree, they'll probably be in for hammerings but will keep it tight against teams more their 'level'

Baines/Cameron/Gorkss / (Cuellar/Stam)

Silva/Fellaini/Walcott/Bale (Michu)

Suarez/Hernandez/Berbatov

2.4 in bank. Plan to give Michu and Bale two weeks to get some points. Will look to get RvP in once Hernandez goals dry up (hope it is not this week).

Does it all add up or sounds stupid?

  Thanks for the replies. I am worried that Mata will not get 90 mins this week what with chelsea needing a win midweek CL. Also West Brom is not an easy game. Walcott is a punt for the NLD which is usually full of goals.
  
  I know the goal keeping combo is week but I have gone with it. Just hope to get a few CS here and there.
  
  I am comfortable with the defence. It is better than what I had.
  
  Hernandez is a 3-4 week punt. I know he is not a regular that's why I have a strong (barring Mata) midfield.

Options:
A) Pienaar/Aguero -> Suarez/Fellaini (-4)

D) Pienaar -> Fellaini and downgrade Baines or Rafa (-4)
E) Forget Fellaini (but my main rival brought him in this week...)
