Just the one game to keep us ticking over today, as Fulham play host to out-of-sorts Sunderland. Plenty will be hoping for another big haul from Dimitar Berbatov after a rare blank from Robin Van Persie at Norwich yesterday. As always, our Dugout Discussion chatroom is now open ahead of the 4pm kick off:

The team news is as follows:

Martin Jol makes three changes from the side that drew 3-3 at Arsenal last Saturday. The alterations all come in midfield, with Damien Duff coming in for Ashkan Dejagah on the right, while Alex Kacaniklic steps in for the injured Kieran Richardson on the opposite flank. Veteran Giorgos Karagounis earns his first league start for the Cottagers – he partners Steve Sidwell in the centre, with Mahamadou Diarra injured and Chris Baird serving a one-match suspension.

Schwarzer; Riether, Hughes, Hangeland, Riise; Duff, Karagounis, Sidwell, Kacaniklic; Ruiz, Berbatov

For Sunderland, Martin O’Neill makes two alterations from last week’s defeat at Everton. Phil Bardsley has shrugged off a hamstring problem to replace the suspended Craig Gardner at right-back, while Lee Cattermole’s recovery from a knee problem forces a midfield reshuffle. Seb Larsson is moved from the centre to the right, with Adam Johnson shifting to the left, meaning James McClean drops to the bench for the second time in the last three Gameweeks.

    Some help here please. Lost my place atop of my classic league this week and was well and truly outscored. My forward line is RVP/Jelly/Long - I have 1 FT and enough money for Suarez before the value changes. Keep Jelavic or swap for Suarez?

      Everton has a tasty fixture next week but gets tricky after that. Chances are though that Suarez will be about 10.5 by then so now may be the only chance to get him in. I vote go for it!

        Cheers! I'm quite happy with the midfield, looking more at chopping and changing the forwards. I'm always nervous about Suarez as he can miss so many chances but on this form he's hard to ignore. I'm gonna plump for Suarez I reckon!

    Is Larsson still nailed on for Sunderland? I brought him in as a punt for Sunderland coverage for the upcoming games but worried that he may drop to the bench?

      SAFC fan here. O'Neill seems to think he's undroppable and he doesn't like changing his team much as it is. With AJ on the left now there is nobody else to play but Larsson on the right. He's nailed on but i'd plump for AJ instead of him if you have the money.

    Baines still worth sticking with? He's a hell of an expense for someone who plays for a team who can't keep cleansheets.

    I know there's the argument of ignoring CS and going for his attacking points - but he isn't getting them either! His surprising BPs here and there enough to justify?

      I'll be tempted to get rid after gwk14!

      Everton always pop up with clean sheets when you least expect it though and can be awarded a penalty/dangerous free kick in any game. Plus, with Fellaini's big head to aim for it could easily come back to sting us!

    Alright lads, could use some advice on actual football if anyone can help. 😀 Anyone here ever had to deal with a manager that picks favourites for no reason? Me and one other striker have been ousted for a rather poor player who has only trained with the team once. It appears the coach has decided that he's our starting striker without anything warranting it, in our match today he was very poor (I really mean very poor, an example would be on two occasions he went for a shot and missed the ball). This has happened to a midfielder I know as well. The chairman of the club was down and was very unhappy that neither of us were playing. Anybody ever had to deal with this? Is it just a case of put the head down and work even harder? Cheers lads, I only ask because you boys tend to know your football 😀
