FFS Cup

FFS Paddy Power Cup – The Last Sixteen Draw

Next up, we roll out the draw for the last 16 in the Fantasy Football Scout Paddy Power Cup VII. Site regulars such as Wild Rover and JMS remain in with a shout of silverware. Both have avoided world number one Iyad Zahlan – he is up against Jon Griffiths, who takes on the role of underdog, with a rank around the 52,000 mark.

For those still involved, it’s worth knowing that the last eight will qualify automatically for the Fantasy Football Scout Shield, where they will meet the final eight from the Members Cup, which starts in January.

The FFS Shield has its own prizes and is played out over the final Gameweeks of the season. No pressure, then…

What the consensus on Chris Brunt? West Brom have good fixtures and hes on plenty of set pieces and is someone ive always fancied for fpl.

Isn't Morrison a better prospect? One of my rivals has him and he always makes me nervous watching him. Tends to be involved a lot.

Yeah he probably is but dont want to spend that much on a West Brom mid and Brunt seems like good value now. Its a bit of a punt and it could pay off. I fancy taking a chance

Plenty of talk of City's big players being rested this week. Surely it will be one of the other games as a rest this week would mean 11 days without a game, and then 3 matches in the space of a week.

Maybe one of Tevez/Aguero this week, the other vs Sunderland then both vs Norwich again, after what they did at Carrow Road last time round.

Personally i think he'll finally see sense and start both Carlito and Kun - City lack an edge when he rests either of em... Balo can't possibly start and Dzeko only scores from the bench...

So Arsenal's defence is top 4 in shots conceded inside box (3), outside box (2), headed attempts (2), set play attempts (1), crosses conceded from left (2), crosses from right (1), chances conceded left (3), right (4), centre (1)... that's just about every stat. Overall only City is close 😯
The only problem is they have the second most errors, and most errors leading to goals than anyone else in the competition, something West Ham and Stoke seem to not have a problem with.

Arsenal concede from unforced errors a lot because they play possession football...they don't give it away much but when a defender inevitably does...teams tend to pounce on those opportunities. So many goals have been like this for Arsenal...a defender can't find a pass...messes about with the ball and costs the team a goal.

Considering a 4 point hit to get rid of Suarez and bring in Tevez. Consensus seems to be that this is a bad idea as Tevez may not start. But I think the stats say otherwise. What do you think…

    Total points:
    Suarez – 86
    Tevez – 102

    Points per minute:
    Suarez – 0.06
    Tevez – 0.09

    Points over last 5 games:
    Suarez – 6
    Tevez – 15

The simple fact is that Tevez usually starts (only 4 games when he hasnt) and when he plays he outscores Suarez with ease. Also Suarez has stalled over the past few weeks considerably. If he was a mid price player we would all be ditching him to bring in a similar option. Why not now?

Also, the above doesnt even consider the fact that Tevez is 0.8 cheaper (which frees up some cash) and that Man City are likely to run up a cricket score in the next match whereas Liverpool have Fulham and were terrible at home and got pumped by Villa in the last match.

So Tevez is second in captain poll. Strange cos the general feeling on here seemed to be that he was too much at risk from rotation.

I think the general consensus is that both Aguero and Tevez are at some risk of rotation, but the fixture and City's attack is too good not to take that risk.

Do we have any expert betters over here?
I'm forced to add from these 3 games to my accumulator so any help would be appreciated
    Bordeaux-Troyes
    Lyon-Nice
    Lorient-Reims
Its obvious that i should place 3 home wins but does any1 feel that any of these teams could/will draw?
If so speak and give me ur reason.

I have done a stats table for members comparing the goal / assist potential of Aguero vs Tevez (and the other Man City strikers)...

    http://members.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/my-stats-tables/view/1711/

However, even more telling...if you are a member, use the comparison tool: Aguero vs Tevez - all matches this season, but don't forget to tick "show average per appearance" to allow for the difference in the number of games they have played..

    OMG!!!! (as Bemba would say)

After seeing the difference Tevez made to City when he came on against United i'm not all that surprised - maybe someone should email that page to Mancini...

What the comparison fails to capture, however, is the likelihood of minutes. Lately Tevez has missed quite a lot of game time, either being subbed early or starting on the bench.

Its also less useful looking at their "form" over the whole season, since form is more transient than that (if you arent RVP). By that logic, Suarez is a better bet than Aguero, no?
