David Silva is a name that has been much discussed this week, not least because City are set to face a Reading side that has capitulated in defence of late, conceding 13 goals in their last four league outings. The omens for City’s attackers look good and Silva, as perhaps the most secure Fantasy asset on show, has earned deserved attention as a result.

It has to be said, however, that Silva has disappointed so far this season. Niggling injuries and the erratic form of City’s strikers has undoubtedly hindered the playmaker’s returns. You only have to cast an eye back over statistics from last season to get an impression of just how Silva has dipped: by Gameweek 17 last term, he had fetched five goals and eight assists (Opta not FPL), a far cry from his current Opta stats of a single goal and three assists.

Given the number of eyes cast his way going into the weekend, it seems prudent to delve deeper into Silva’s performance data to run some comparisons to last season’s numbers to assess whether this fall in returns is a long-term cause for concern.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

                i am chasing 28 points. leader doesn't have RVP, but does have Tevez. I'm going to stick with Aguero. I've played conservatively the last 6 weeks and it's taken me from 4,000 in the world to 20,000. Time for a risk! Thanks for your input.

            It cuts out every five minutes to the second.

            But the router doesn't turn off or the light saying the internet is gone doesn't turn on.

              You have said there's only your phone and computer attached to the line? No Sky or anything else?

              The 5 min interval suggests it's something interfering with the connection that is programmed to do something every 5 mins.

    I'd love to (C) Silva over RvP considering the fixture he's got and all. But Silva has nearly no form to back him up as a Captain atleast.

    It would be prudent to (C) RvP wouldn't it? Taking into account the number of goals United score away from home as well?

      If you are going by his FPL scores the last few weeks you would be forgiven for saying he doesn't have any form. But going by his stats I would say he is on form and playing well and just has been a little unlucky. A bit like Berbatov except Silva is genuinely doing what you would want him to do and that is creating chances every single game. He created 8 in his last game.

        Yes yes. I meant FPL form. Stat's wise he's been brilliant as you pointed out.

        Same thing with Cazorla, I got him in before the West Brom game based on nothing but stats inspite of him drawing multiple blanks, and that venture ended up nicely indeed!

      Boxing Day fixture is a good un for him if he's fit, plus Any defender will need to get a clean sheet probably just to cover the fit and potentially Neslons 2 points.
