FFS Paddy Power Cup – Quarter Final Draw

The Paddy Power Cup has reached the Quarter-Final stages and with our final eight now having qualified for the Fantasy Football Scout Shield at the end of the season, they turn their attentions to their next opponent, on the trail of cup glory.

Former Fantasy Premier League leader Iyad Zahlan and his side, Giavara555, was the name that everyone wanted to avoid but it’s MileHigh who gets the “privilege” of that particular match-up. The sure-fire certainty for the televised tie, MileHigh goes into the weekend sitting in 224 position in the world, just 218 spots behind Iyad, and will fancy his chances of a giant-killing, having enjoyed another climb in Gameweek 19.

JMS was the other high ranked manager in the draw. Now sitting 149th in the world, he will face Mr.KK in last eight, with “ange1range1” taking on “Ricky Smokes lets go” and “Wild Rover” facing “Tommy Tynans Left Shin Pad” in a stormy community head-to-head battle.

All ties will be played out over Gameweek 20 this weekend. Good luck to all involved.

1ange1range1Vs.Ricky Smokes lets go
2JMSVs.Mr.KK
3Wild roverVs.Tommy Tynans Left Shin Pad
4Giavara555Vs.MileHigh

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

DGW: im sure there will be an article in the near future but most likely:

WHUFC - Jussi, Demel, Collins, Nolan, Taylor, Cole?

AFC - Gibbs, Mertersacker, Walcott, Cazorla

Agreed... I'd thought of dropping Berba for him in time for the DGW, if you're wildcarding after then it frees up some good money for an upgrade elsewhere.

Especially as Berba has Man City away that week. No brainer. Realistically, you can't have all three of Walcott, Cazorla and Nolan in midfield becasue you are likely to lose a lot of value on the mids you do have.

Afternoon all. Are Shorey and Sterling my main priorities to get rid of? Is Shorey out of favour? Got 1 free and 0.3 in the bank. Thinking perhaps Shorey > O'Brien as my defence looks weak next week. Alternatively, got Sterling > Puncheon lined up, but this one can probably wait as Sterling will be on my bench this week. Thoughts?

ok so since my Vorm idea got shot down, not that I expected anything less for daring for suggest something different, I din;t have Bego, he will be 6 million by the time I come to wc, and Cameron is a full million less, suggest someone else

Chesney is 5.3, but surely Sagna or Gibbs at a similar price have more to offer. Same goes for Reina, Lloris and Cech

but I said get Vorm AND Davies I accept fully that Davies is great value. I just think the Begovic ship has sailed, and you're on it or you're not, my point is that Davies is cheap enough to be benched and with Vorm in every week you won't miss a Swans CS. The upside offered by defenders from other sides, coupled with their closeness in price to the keeper makes them better options IMO, whereas Vorm and Davies can work well due to the value offered by Davies

I think Begovic was the only stand-out valued keeper this year. That ship has sailed though, think you're right.

Not sure abandoning the idea of rotation is totally justified yet, though.

the truth is, apart from Bego or Jussi - who were my original keepers, I dont like any of the other big ones as they all seem to concede. I was happy with Bunn Gazza until Gazza injured. Now will hope for something to come from this jan transfer market or another injury. If migs goes to arsenal then maybee westwood. Either way, I have time.

Surely go sczesny and davies over vorm and sagna? Only needs to b for the next month. Sczesny is you best bet if buying a keeper. Sagna is also good. Just in their own rights, theyre better. Ur argument regarding szcesny vs sagna and vorm vs davies is backwards

Although ches @ 5.3 is too close to DDG or Linde at only .1 or .2 more. Would like to see how United settle during this period - thinking with Vidic back and hopefully Jones getting more game time, they will tighten up. That would also hedge against any rafael, evans, owners. then can still have gibbs and davies.

yeah, but with the amount of goals our defenders are scoring, maybe having one of them is better than DDG. But I'd need to see evidence of us tightening up first

True - but defenders cost overpowers. Rafael avg 4.2 per appearance - but now with fully fit squad will get rotated - as well as rafael and smalling. DDG avg 3 per appearance. That should change with Defensive line back. But definitely needs monitoring as you said.

a bit to much for a rotator tbh. 10 million is more than i want to spend in all honesty, hench why I'm now looking at just 1 keeper. if United start keeping CS and he nails down a spot I may get DDG, until then Chesney it is

Don't get swept away with the "must haves" and "essentials" on here ... do what you want to do.

The way I see it, I'm looking at Swansea's home fixs from when I'm going to WC onwards and there's only 3 or 4 nice homers... he's not for me. I've had Begovic & Jaask from GW3, but I wouldn't get them at their current price. There's plenty of decent keepers out there but it entirely depends on budget and strategy as to the best option.

I've had a Migs/Foster rotation for a while, and it's not bad, but I'm just getting so frustrated at constantly benching the wrong one (like many others) that I think having just 1 keeper for better or worse is the way to go. I think I will abandon Vorm and get Davies, but picking a keeper is proving harder

Well I tell you what, owning Jaask and Begovic doesn't help that problem. The only way to solve that is go heavy. Here's my Begovic / Jaask recently... won't bother with the fixtures but if you care to look them up, there's no rash decisions:

          GW19 - Played Begovic 3, Jaask -
          GW18 - Played Jaask 2, Begovic 10
          GW17 - Played Begovic 1, Jaask 7
          GW16 - Played Jaask 1, begovic 7
          GW15 - Played Jaask 3, Begovic 9
          GW14 - Played Begovic 3, Jaask 4

Gibbs - there's no credible competition for the Arsenal left back place...

Gibbs imo. But Sagna safer as less injury prone.
