Just as Steven Gerrard dominated in the midfielders bracket over the Christmas period, Luis Suarez reigned supreme amongst the strikers. With five goals and two assists making him the most profitable forward on show, surpassing even Robin Van Persie’s FPL returns in the same window.

Looks good. Shame about Guthrie, but I understand the reasons. Keep an eye on Turnbull. Be ready to switch him out at the last minute on the basis of any news about Cech return, as it would suck to have him only play against Stoke and then you have a dead GK to worry about.

After the double gameweeks I really want to try and get Gerrard in. It would give me a midfield of Gerrard, Michu, Mata, Bale, Fellaini but the only way to do it would be to downgrade Kyle Walker. Would you rather have Walker and Walcott or Gerrard and a defender under 5.5? And who would that defender be? Already got Demel, Davies, Cameron and Cuellar.

O'Brien a doubt from injury; Martin could be replaced by Whitaker when he returns this week or next; Caz for whom? Wouldn't want to lose anyone but Punch for that swap.
