Back for 2013, fully refreshed, slightly rusty and balancing the same chips on our shoulders, Granville are I make a return to the podcast studio.

The New Year presents my beleaguered co-host with a 51-point gap to bridge as I spent Christmas “ho-ho-ing” about three midfield hat-tricks, leaving Granville to roll out one mighty miffed in this week’s episode.

Elsewhere, we pick at the double Gameweek buffet, eagerly scoffing on the Chelsea canapés whilst wondering if Rafa has hidden something nasty in the vol-a-vents. We rinse that down with the latest transfers in and out in “all aboard”, preview all the weekend fixtures and carry out the latest emergency surgery on the ailing ScoutCast team.

        Well he's still showing as -96% on totalfpl so just wanting clarification as I couldn't remember if he was already on 9.4 or not.

    Having done Suarez >> ba reluctantly as I didn’t have a Dgw player….here are my next options

    A: Rafael/cueller >> ivanovic or Luis (-4)..my other def is Rafael Hughes cueller demel Davies
    B: Mannone >> turnbull (-4)….my other gk is begovic
    C: cueller + sterling >> Luis + gaston (-8) and bench michu then
    D: Rafael + fellaini >> Luis + hazard (-8)

      Was looking at Harte as well, is he looking nailed on longterm with Shorey back?
      I know he is on set pieces and pens apparently too, for 3.8 thats a steal as a 4th-5th cheapo def.

    A) Fellaini + 5.0 defender
    B) Michu + 4.2 defender

    I suppose Michu would be the obious choice here, but there's no denying Everton has the better fixtures. I can't fit both, as my other midfielders are Mata, Bale, Walcott and Cole, and I'm not that keen on playing 3-5-2.

    What are you guys thinking?

        It's Joe Cole (for now, at least). My forwards are Ba, Berba and RVP. For now I'm leaning towards keeping Fellaini and pray he will outscore Michu in the coming weeks, but I'm not entirely comfortable with it!

        Haha, I actually did have him early on, but stupid me got rid of him. Even at 8.2 he's good value though, but it's tough competition for the midfielder spots at the moment, especially with the DGW's ahead.

    What do people on here fear the most before such an event as a DGW:

    A. Being too conservative, not taking enough hits, hence losing points - or
    B. Taking too many hits that not pay off, hence losing points.

    Personally, I feel B is worse.

    With or without Bale for WC?
    I was pretty determinded to go without and have this front 8
    Mata, Fellaini, Michu, Punch (Walcott)
    Rvp, Ba, Lambert

    During this week I was convinced that Bale should be included to wc team - difficult to get him afterwards.

    But just looked this mornings posts and I see some others are also thinking to go without...everton fixtures are so damn good, so Baines & Fellaini should deliver.

    And very very very very important fact is that Bale has early game saturday vs Harry.
    I'm just dreaming how lovely start for life after wc it would be if he scores blank in that game and I don't have him.....

      But seriously though, Bale is one of those types that scores at will, i would have a Plan B with him in it and see what options it offers you.

      Choice between Bale and Mata if you're going with a 3-4-3. Then you can have Fellaini, Michu, Walcott, who are all cheaper.

      ive got the exact same front 8 mate,

      Option for me was to go Puncheon and Lambert to Bale and Church 4.2 from reading who will never play....

      tempted by that.... but having a player who never plays is not good form.
