The Big Numbers – Gameweek 22

West Brom’s Romelu Lukaku heads up our ICT Index rankings after a weekend of football, with Wigan’s Franco Di Santo an unlikely name to keep Robin Van Persie company in our top three. Our members can investigate these standings in full, digesting all the data from the weekend’s action. Big Numbers makes a return to pick out our take on the key statistics on show, together with an array of trends that have emerged over the past four Gameweeks…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Afternoon all, I've got a tight H2H battle going on. Who will win you think?

Me: Mata(c), Ba and Luiz + 4pt lead
    Him: Ba(c), Hazard and Lambert

Either way, looks like someone's going to lose with over 80pts!

Just seen that Lukaku hit the post twice on Saturday as well...and Russell Martin hit it once too. That would have been some goal-scoring streak from Martin.

Morning All. Looking at Lescott for the next couple of games. I doubt Kompany's appeal will be successful? Thoughts? He'd miss Fulham (H), QPR (A) and their FA Cup 4th Round game. Kolo Toure is away on African Nations Cup duty so Lescott is nailed on if Kompany is suspended.

Could be as soon as against Reading. Our attacking options on the right don't look good. And after Pardews comments after the implosion at Brighton, I wouldn't be surprised

Indeed, Remy plays very comfortably on the right of a 4-3-3, can also play as a supporting striker as well.

I don't think he will be as high as 9m given his current form this season. I reckon between 7-8 myself.

Pretty much a done deal, although he hasn't signed yet, it's been confirmed he turned up at training for Marseille saying bye to all his team mates. Looks like he's already made up his mind.

        Looking forward to this one!

I have Sagna, Walcott and Demel already for DGW23... One FT available...

The only other person who I might be interested in is Cazorla... To get Cazorla in I have to transfer out Bale... I will not lose any money on Bale as I brought him at his current value and also have enough money in the bank to bring him back after the DGW even if he rises (which I hope not)...

But the concern is will Cazorla score more in 2 games than Bale against Man United... On paper it looks like YES, but you never know with Bale...

Also consider that I will captain Walcott and not Cazorla even if I do get him in...

My front 8 at the moment is
    Bale Michu Fellaini Mata Walcott
    Ba Berbatov RVP

    What do you guys suggest?

Still unsure about the next game week with regard to DGW players.

Doubting Podolski's ability to get me some decent points.

    A. Lambert -> Podolski
    B. Shaw -> Sagna
    C. Something else

    Jussi
    Demel - Luiz - Gibbs
    Mata - Michu - Fellaini - Walcott
    Ba - RVP - Fletcher

    Federici - Ramirez - Davies - Shaw

Just doing some thinking ahead of the GW, won't do any transfers until we see how the FA Cup plays out. But initial thoughts:

    A) Gibbs & Ba
    B) Davies(STK)/Luiz(ARS) & Podolsk/Giroud

Yeah probably, since I got many defenders with very decent fixtures this week. The Ba situation of course needs monitoring, Arsenal haven't been that good defending on the road.

So you fancy Gibbs and Ba to do well GW24? I'm not so sure on the Arsenal defence, especially with Carrol returning could see some Nolan goals. Then again they do not score at all on the road.

Yeah it's hard to gauge though. If Torres starts vs Southampton, I reckon Ba will start vs Arsenal. If not, it's anybody's guess, but to me Ba looks to be in the driving seat.

That's the thing though overall it's pretty good and they don't concede many chances, but it's just those lapses of concentration, major errors that cause big goalscoring opportunities to arise. And there's been quite a few of those.

I read through the stats of the Indian team at the time and had a good laugh at this 18 yr old so called master batsman that had to face Alan Donald.

The problem is there is such a wealth of heavy hitting options in midfield, it's knowing who to sacrifice for Gerrard. Current thinking out of the power 5 is Walcott.

I transferred him out this GW for Ba, but yes, Sturridge looks much more interesting and Rodgers seem to love him. I think he'll do a good job when he can actually be the spearhead instead of moping around on the wing like he did at Chelsea.

    JAASKELANEN – Federici
    SAGNA – DEMEL – Luiz – Davies – Clyne
    WALCOTT (C) – Mata – Fellaini – Michu – Sterling
    RvP – Suarez – Berbatov

1 FT and 1.0 in the bank

I am thinking Berba to Giroud? Do you think it is the best option without a hit?

Or, Luiz + Berbatov TO Goorks + Aguero (bench Goorks and play Davies) for -4 pts hit?

Got dragged away, hence no replies. Thanks for replies earlier chaps. And Christina - a rare bout of compassion! Much appreciated 🙂

Here's a small but lynchpin part of my strategic impasse. Plan was firmly Louise > Gibbs. But now starting to think that Gibbs will probably score just 1-2 points more and actually I'd like to keep Louise long term now.

But going into DGW with just Walcott and Demel seems silly, no?

Lukaku is a similar story to Ba - we all know that given the gametime, he will score lots and lots of goals. Unfortunately their managers don't see it that way. If you think Luncheon Meat can cover his missed games adequately then do it.
