The ScoutCast – Episode Ninety Five – Rush

Rush. The best form of goalkeepers for the playground. A long-haired Canadian prog-rock outfit. A mustachioed goal sniffer and, sadly, a description of how Granville and myself had to approach this latest episode of the podcast.

With our studio slot limited, we had to skinny things up and turn this one out double-time. Nonetheless, in 26-minutes, we touched on all the regulars, whilst scattering the silence in between with the usual sniping between the pair of us. It makes you wonder what we waste the other twenty minutes on every week.

Not to worry. Enjoy what you can of this little taster and look ahead to next week’s full-fat return, when we’re planning a new feature and a new voice.

Grab this fast-food snack via this link, or stream the quick chat via the player below….

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I kind of want a WHU attacker following Southampton's antics

Seemed last GW it was difficult to go wrong with a DGWer

yea, but which Hammers attacker will come good? no one's been consistent for at least the past month or so.

Didn’t get much response back then.. let’s try it one more time.. Shorter version this time

If you had the choice to

    1) Double up Stoke defense (Begovic + Cameron) vs WIG RDG WHM

    2) Just 1 Stoke cover on those fixtures (Cameron) and have
Dawson vs nor, Nelsen* vs NOR and Nelsen* vs sot
as the other defender on respective weeks.

    *Nelsen or Onuoha whoever playing

    Which one would you pick?

    Pick 1 to play:

    Azpilicueta (vs Ars H)
    Clyne (vs Eve H)
    Nelsen (vs WHU A)

okay....missed the price rise on Theo......because i really cannot decide on who to swap him for......it is between Mata and Hazard. Was planning on Haz>Theo all along, but cant seem to pull the trigger.

    1. Hazard seems to have found his goal touch.
    2. Worried that Mata picked up a knock in the SOT match

Shall i stick with my plan? or am i just complicating decision?

No doubt nobody in the game is causing as many headaches as Ba now.
He is in my side after wildcarding last week....and hopefully he will stay there.

He has started really strongly at Chelsea and he wount be rotated if he keeps banging them in.
Simple as that.Rafatation or whatever is a bit exagerrated anyway.

Yes, he's proven that he's capable of being explosive anytime on the long term, coupled with some small assists and individual goals on the short term. Surely, that would be enough to convince you to keep him in your team.

i understand his "explosiveness" is hard to ignore, but it's disturbing when the likes of Gerrard and Fellaini are more consistent, and Hazard is picking up gear. well, he's Bale after all. even Madrid want him.

I opted out the Michu boat because of the security offered by Fellaini - it was always between them both. Fellaini has been in the Premier League for a fair few years now whereas Michu is new so his great form might discontinue at some point. Besides, Fellaini is cheaper than Michu. 😉

So if I were you, I would convert Michu to Fellaini for a lower price and have Walcott rotated with some punts that you think will work well - like Walcott/Mata to Gerrard. Bale is a definite keeper for me.

pirlo had his heydays in Milan colour. he's great at WC2006 too. I like a deep-lying playmaker like him. pulling strings, killer passes.. scholes type but millions better.

barca mids are great becasue they're so good playing together. take out xavi, iniesta and messi and ask them to play for different teams and then we'll see them better.

doubt we'll see any of xavi, iniesta or messi at another club so that leaves international to look at. (messi isn't a mf btw). xavi and iniesta have shown with spain and are the heart of that team (which lacks messi). messi was unlucky not to score in the wc on several occasions. and he did just tie the argentina national team record for most goals in a calendar year. though there is still a ways to go. i think his time to shine with the national team will come. maybe in brazil or maybe 4 years later

Going fwd you mean? Post gw 24/WC? That's a tough one. That's why I suggest keeping Ba to see how he goes this week after having two games in quick succession.

I'm not sure what my third striker will be. It's tough to fit Kun/Michu/Bale/Felli/rvp and 1xchel/1xlivp player in. And what about Walcott. I kind off hope an injury brings me a "solution".

I'm not worrying about Liverp until gw 26. By then I would have to make a call on Mata or Ba, as this will determine ifI get Sturr or SG.

        Totally agree with FantasyKid.

Left side flank will have issues with Chelsea's narrow shape. Wouldn't even surprise me if Bertrand starts this over Oscar.

Expect Gibbs/Podolski to do well against Chelsea. I think Podolski has 41.4% goal involvement when on the field, so a bit unfair to say he is not involved much.

Well, dont ship either of them, What's your other choices? Bale could hurt United in the counter attack

Noooooooooooooooooooooo, Suarez against Norwich is always lethal ! I fear not having the man, Keep Suarez until you are sure of Sturridge's roal

With your team value at 100.7m, have you considered the option to go on an all-out attack and only invest in one 5.5m defender with the rest 4.0m cheapies? That should afford you enough to upgrade McAnuff.

Evening all, not usually up so late, but watching the Heat-Lakers game!

This is my current team. I'm 0.1 mil short of being able to swap berba to tevez. Am i crazy to double up on liverpool strikers hoping for a sturridge/suarez goalfest?!

    Begovic,
    Johnson, Gibbs. Luiz
    Mata, Walcott, Bale, Puncheon
    Suarez Berbatov, Ba

    Rudd, Figueroa , O'Brien, Kacaniklic

    Cheers for any advice/opinions 🙂

No Van Persie? Get Berbatov out. Maybe think about Sturridge, could be a solid value.

    WC Team Draft

    Bego - Jussi
    Zabaleta - Gibbs - Wilkinson - Martin R - Clyne
    Mata - Bale - Walcott - Michu - Fellaini
    RVP - Ba - Pogrebnyak

Leaves me 2m for possible Ba to Suarez(at 10.5m). I know Wilkinson is injured right now, but this is after GW23. Any thoughts, concerns or advice? Thank you.
