Double Gameweeks Confirmed

As some of you may have noticed, the Premier League has this afternoon rolled out dates for some of the fixtures that were cancelled from the Gameweek 29 schedule last weekend. Fantasy managers now have time to take in the impending double Gameweeks as a result of the newly-arranged matches:

West Ham’s home clash with Man United will now take place on Wednesday April 17, or Gameweek 33 to you and I. Essentially, the Hammers definitely have a double and will travel to Southampton before hosting United. If Sir Alex Ferguson’s side win their FA Cup Sixth Round replay with Chelsea, however, they will need to play the Semi-Final that weekend – this will see their league trip to Stoke cancelled. If they lose at Stamford Bridge, they will also have a DGW33.

Man City’s home match with Wigan has been moved to the same evening. As both clubs play in the Semi Finals of the Gameweek 33 weekend, however, they will only have a single match that Gameweek.

City’s home game with West Brom, initially scheduled for last weekend, has yet to be given a new date, the club have confirmed. Wigan’s home game with Swansea, initially set for Gameweek 33, has been moved to Gameweek 36, giving both clubs a double that week. The Latics also have a trip to West Brom, while Swansea entertain City. Bottom line here is both Swansea and West Brom are without a Gameweek 33 fixture.

Chelsea’s replay with United has now been moved to Monday April 1. With a league game against Southampton taking place a couple of days earlier, though, it’s clear rest and rotation looks set to play a significant part for the Blues – even more so if they overcome Steaua Bucharest in tomorrow evening’s Europa League cup match. At present, their trip to Fulham, which was initially scheduled for Gameweek 29, has yet to be given a new date.

There’s still a lot up in the air, then, and plenty of ifs and buts still to consider, mainly depending on the Chelsea-United cup match.

What we know for certain is that Everton, Arsenal and West Ham have doubles in Gameweek 33, Swansea and West Brom have blanks in Gameweek 33, while Swansea and Wigan have doubles in Gameweek 36.

So let me get this straight...

If Chelsea play Man Utd when West ham play Man utd that means that Chelsea might have a double gameweek as well as Man utd and West ham but not at the same time that West ham have their DGW but rather 2 days later on a Sunday when Man Utd will also play Stoke but not before playing Sunderland in GW31 where Chelsea will have to play a EL game that might postpone their Man Utd game while West ham will have to wait for Man UTd to win or draw against Sunderland for their fixture to go ahead in order to allow Chelsea enough time to rearrange their plans and play Arsenal in GW34. Which means that Swansea and Wigan now have a DGW that falls in GW36 but only if Wigan beat Blackburn or Milwall in GW33 and ensure that Chelsea only draw to Man utd while playing West Ham at the same time on the same pitch on a Saturday?

    Ok, glad that's cleared up

That's been my main thought all week - can't decide who's better to shift though. 😕

In theory Fletcher has a good fixture this weekend then poor ones while Lambert has poor fixtures for a couple of weeks then good ones. Thing is neither of them have really performed when expected and I've been getting these kind of decisions wrong most of the season! 😆

Given that United could have won the PL by the end of GW32, or perhaps mid GW33, their whole investment portfolio could be a complete honeytrap regardless.

This is true especially in the case of DDG because as soon as the league is won, I imagine Lindy will get a lot of games. If Chelsea put us out in the FA Cup it does change things a bit though, I still envisage RVP getting quite a lot of gametime due to the golden boot race for example.

Can we really see the season being over by GW33!? Madness.

      Depends how it works out.

3 Utds for DGW, then Swansea(h) and WBA(a) and 3 City for DGW, then Reading(a) and Norwich (h)
      could be very nice.

Throw in a few Wigan, Swansea players and maybe Chelsea and it looks pretty damn good.

I think it would be more advantageous to just play it before the GW 36 doubles and get 11DGW players in, whilst having 4 subs who have good fixtures in weeks 37 and 38(taking into account possible rotation)

Seems much harder trying to use it for the doubles before it, you'd be better off using your FT's and taking a hit or two for them as most people will be in that situation and there's more chance of getting a higher GW rank in 36 IMO

            Zaba, United defender, Davies
