Double Gameweeks Confirmed

As some of you may have noticed, the Premier League has this afternoon rolled out dates for some of the fixtures that were cancelled from the Gameweek 29 schedule last weekend. Fantasy managers now have time to take in the impending double Gameweeks as a result of the newly-arranged matches:

West Ham’s home clash with Man United will now take place on Wednesday April 17, or Gameweek 33 to you and I. Essentially, the Hammers definitely have a double and will travel to Southampton before hosting United. If Sir Alex Ferguson’s side win their FA Cup Sixth Round replay with Chelsea, however, they will need to play the Semi-Final that weekend – this will see their league trip to Stoke cancelled. If they lose at Stamford Bridge, they will also have a DGW33.

Man City’s home match with Wigan has been moved to the same evening. As both clubs play in the Semi Finals of the Gameweek 33 weekend, however, they will only have a single match that Gameweek.

City’s home game with West Brom, initially scheduled for last weekend, has yet to be given a new date, the club have confirmed. Wigan’s home game with Swansea, initially set for Gameweek 33, has been moved to Gameweek 36, giving both clubs a double that week. The Latics also have a trip to West Brom, while Swansea entertain City. Bottom line here is both Swansea and West Brom are without a Gameweek 33 fixture.

Chelsea’s replay with United has now been moved to Monday April 1. With a league game against Southampton taking place a couple of days earlier, though, it’s clear rest and rotation looks set to play a significant part for the Blues – even more so if they overcome Steaua Bucharest in tomorrow evening’s Europa League cup match. At present, their trip to Fulham, which was initially scheduled for Gameweek 29, has yet to be given a new date.

There’s still a lot up in the air, then, and plenty of ifs and buts still to consider, mainly depending on the Chelsea-United cup match.

What we know for certain is that Everton, Arsenal and West Ham have doubles in Gameweek 33, Swansea and West Brom have blanks in Gameweek 33, while Swansea and Wigan have doubles in Gameweek 36.

    I'd love a quick poll on who you guys think will be the better captaincy option;

    I've got 60pts to make up on 4 rivals, 3 of them have RVP. None have Rooney. Do I;

    Captain RVP to keep in touch with them or Captain Rooney as I'm running out of time to make up those points,

    Thoughts appreciated!

        In the last five;

        Rooney 4 goals 2 assists 8 baps
        RVP 1 goal 3 assists 6 baps

        Think I've made my mind up. Amazing what writing it down does for you!

      I'd definitely be going Rooney as making up those points on 1 person is hard enough but we're talking 4 here so you need creativity.

      Thanks for the opinions, albeit very divided! Gonna roll the dice with Rooney this week. Currently 120pts clear in one cash league, but this one where I'm 5th is my work league which I won last year, so I have to make some bold moves for the cup!

      I guess I'll be very disappointed when he goes with Hernandez and Welbeck up top!

    Repost.

    Hey guys, I am planning to bring in Glen Johnson this week (for a 4 point hit) even though Liverpool are not one of the teams with a DWG coming up.

    Liverpool have great fixtures and he will not be rotated.. While other big teams like Chelsea, Utd, City have DWG coming up I can see them rotating players.

    What do you guys think- should I be waiting to see which big teams have a DWG coming up soon then bring in a defender from that team or should I go ahead with Glen Johnson?

    Thanks! 🙂

        I already have Szezcny. There's Baines with a dgw coming up but I think I would rather get Fellaini in for Michu when GW33 comes around. I can't see Everton getting as many clean sheets as Liverpool for the remainder of the season.

    Get Rooney this week
    GW31 - Migs to Ches/DDG
    GW32 - save
    GW33 Remy, Snodgrass and Sissoko to Any Chubby, Caz and Fella/Peanut (based on price)

    GW36 - WILDCARD

    So is it "safe" to aasume that the blanks in gw33 due to the FA Cup will be moved to gw36? Would be kinda crap to save your WC for gw36 (and not playing it for the pretty decent dgw that gw33 might become) and see the fixtures spread out over multiple gameweeks.

    But guess we should know more about that before gw.33 deadline anyway.

      You'll know in advance of GW36 anyway.

      Any games not played by then will have to be played in GW37.

      If the games are before GW36 you will know in advance so just use your wildcard then.

    I think the key to the doubles and playing them right may be the strikers. While many midfielders have been consistent over the season, many strikers ( excluding Rvp, Suarez etc) have been much more fixture dependent. Being able to chop and change your strikers a bit over the coming weeks could be effective, with lukaku, kone,mirallas, (giroud, Hernandez, welbeck, ba, tevez) all offering potential hauls, albeit with risk in many of their cases. Personally, I'm considering keeping a relatively stable midfield , defence + Rooney, and mix it up in the final third. Feel free to shoot me down.

    Am I missing something?

    My understanding is more DGW33 fixture coming up after the replay of FA Cup.

    If Chelsea Wins~United DGW ,Spurs Blank & Chelsea-Fulham Single Gameweek.
    If United Wins~Chelsea & Fulham DGW & Stoke Blank Gameweek.

    {This is because even if Chelsea progresses in Europa, they wont have commitments for midweek in GW33}

    So am I right with this?

    West Ham will definitely have a DGW in GW33, though if United win against Chelsea in the FA Cup, they'll probably have only one game in that Gameweek, and Stoke will have a blank?

        I did, but then by going through the article, I think if United beats us, the FA Cup Semi Final will take place on the weekend, omitting the match between United and Stoke City. If we do win it against United, our game against Spurs will be off in GW33.

            Chelsea DGW depends on the Europa League too. If we go through, we might not have a DGW whatever the outcome is.

      DGW33~Everton, Arsenal, West Ham

      Blank GW33~West Brom, Swansea

      DGW36~Wigan, Swansea

      Some fixtures depend upon FA Cup replay.
      If Chelsea Wins~United DGW ,Spurs Blank & Chelsea-Fulham Single Gameweek.
      If United Wins~Chelsea & Fulham DGW & Stoke Blank Gameweek.

    I'm a little stuck on what to do with my team.
    I've dropped down to 4th in my mini-league based on going with Sturridge not Suarez.
    So should I bite the bullet and cover that or press on with a different strategy,

    Bego | Henderson
    Zaba | Evans | Davies | Harte | Wilson
    Bale | Walcott | Michu | Gerrard | Sissoko
    RVP | Sturridge | Lambert

    1.8m in bank.

    I've given consideration to plans with none, one, two & three transfers this week.

    Thanks for any thoughts?
