Infographic – Head to Head – Ozil vs Eriksen

Here’s something new we’re trialling. Created by our artist and community member, Will, this rather slick infographic sums up Mesut Ozil’s debut for Arsenal and pitches it against Tottenham’s new “number 10” Christian Eriksen.

Really liked it. Not sure what the comments are about with the zooming as I could read it fine.

Only thing I would like is a place to compare stats side by side without having to scroll up and down for it. But REAALY like it!.

3.5 Madrid keeper (can't remember his name) but he seems nailed on. Helton for porto (gk) at 4.5 seems good as well.

Vidal at 8.5 for Juventus is decent value

5.5 for Basel's Streller as a striker is also a good option.

Probs gonna get shot down here but in FF terms:

You might be right, but what are you basing it on? We really have no idea on how the new boys will adapt. History has shown more evidence of players coming from Italy and Holland to take time to adjust, rather than hit the ground running - and even those from Spain have been hit or miss. I would say that at least one of these 4 will be a flop this season - and it might be the one who's been here a while.

I'd said based on previous stats. Lamela scores a lot of goals, Eriksen not as many. Walcott scores a lot of goals, Ozil not as many. Goals are more important than ever from midfield with the new bonus system.

Goals are the big point scorers in the game not assists. A midfielder goal will likely get him 5+chance of bonus, an assist only 3.

Neither Ozil or Eriksen seems to me, a player who is going to score 12-15 goals in the PL in a season, something which at Ozil's price at least, he needs to be doing to be good FF value. They're more creative players than goalscorers (not saying they won't chip with a few). Walcott did this last season, as did Lamela (albeit in a different league).

I don't have the stats to hand, but just from watching the MOTD highlights, I can tell you that Walcott had several more shots at goal than Ozil and Eriksen did.

        *spoken generally

not so sure if Walcott is going to produce a significant number of goals more than Özil, who can indeed score. He just happened to have a contract to suply the CR-goalmachine. I'd guess he scores about 8 with a plethora of assists. I'm going with both long term, but no RVP here, so I have the dough 😀

Seeing a lot of 'Nani out' posts. Personally I'm giving him another week.

He was in America the day before the match, and Young still isn't doing himself any favours by having legs like Bambi - with Moyes actually saying he'll have a word with him.

Agreed he has the ability, but I'm guessing lacking the confidence to use it. The only shot I ever seem to see him do, is cut in and curl towards far post, rarely beats his man without falling over, even if there's a good option on

Really think Moyes will make an example of his diving, as he should. It really isn't defensible - and I'm a Utd fan

      I'm worried he won't.

I jumped the gun and got him in this week when I should have waited. Given Siggy's performance and Townsend's start to the season, very concerned he'll be eased in from the bench.

i'd argue ozil didn't play in the hole, more left mid but drifting in silva style, so plenty more is to come when cazorla or podolski are back

Agree, when you think how good Fabregas was, Ozil will play a similar role and is arguably a better player. It's just how to get him in.

Fabregas was the king of his day's bonus system, will Ozil be? Assists are also harder to come by with the deflection rule.

it's like a check-mate. people rated silva as an fpl player 2 season ago because he was such a prolific assister despite being average at best goal wise (back when the bonus system didnt like the assister as well). ozil can reach the promised land of 20 assists and will find it pretty difficult not to score more goals than silva.

Yep I'd say the same, don't think will change much though.

Will Cazorla even get back into the side when everyone's fit, Podolski almost certainly won't.

Definitely. This is their best line-up imo.

I don't think you can get away with that attacking a side in the PL, you'll get caught out defensively like they did against Villa.

Wilshere, Ramsey and Arteta are all best in a similar role, you need a combative defensive midfielder alongside them, like Flamini imo.

    They're back...

Starting in GW4 as per last year my team of Belgians (plus four other non belgians) are back to try and beat last years GW4 rank of 180th...Gonna be tough this year

For added spice in my family league they are to be the Wife's team (actually true, league attached)

    Migs...4.0

    Kompany Vert Verm (Turner Chester)

Fell Hazard Chadli Mirallas (Dembele)...........(de bruyne as a transfer in as and when needed)

    Benteke Lukaku Giroud (0.0)

46 pts this week with Migs to play

Verm a very iffy pick this year !
