Infographic – Head to Head – Ozil vs Eriksen

Here’s something new we’re trialling. Created by our artist and community member, Will, this rather slick infographic sums up Mesut Ozil’s debut for Arsenal and pitches it against Tottenham’s new “number 10” Christian Eriksen.

Dive into the numbers and feel free to share and embed the image via the provided link.

    Gonna (C) Erikson and (VC) Ozil for the heck of it next week, Giroud really worked for 2 weeks so far.

    I like infographics, but there is always a danger that they slip into being a designer's showcase that look good visually but do less of a good job at imparting information in a clear way that focuses on they key facts and strips out all the extraneous noise.

    A great infographic will do both of these well, but if it has to be a choice, I would take well presented data over a nice look and feel any day.

    If I'm being critical, this one does have a few shortcomings on the data presentation (I'm not really qualified to talk about the graphical design side, which looks great). For example as others have mentioned it's difficult to compare the numbers when they are laid out on top of each other. You are constantly having to flit up and down the page to compare the same stat for each player. However this would also be true (to a lesser extent) if the numbers were presented as player A on the left and player B on the right. As a third solution I think it would be easier to read if it was each statistic that was grouped together rather than each player.

    Secondly, the numbers for touches/final third/in the box/minutes per touch are given more size prominence than numbers for the other stats. I'm not sure whether this is a deliberate attempt to focus on these numbers as being more important. To my mind the goal attempts and chances created are more important from a FPL perspective, so should be given the most prominence.

    Thirdly I find the average position map a bit confusing. Are they pointers where the apex indicates the actual position of the player, or does the centre of the circle indicate the position? And the impact is lessened without seeing the context of where their average positions were in relation to their team mates. For example you can't tell from this pitch map that Eriksen's and Soldado's average position were almost identical.

    I don't mean to put a downer of this particular infographic (I'd love to see more of them!); so I'm writing this more from a perspective of constructive criticism.

    ugh - repost as lost on last page

    Quite a conundrum I've got here. So front 8 is

    Michu - Silva - Hazard - Brady - Kim

    Soldado - Giroud - Van Wolf

    3.3 in bank

    A. Silva > Eriksen, then Van Wolf > Rooney in GW6

    B. Van Wolf > Sturridge

    Was all set for doing B this week, but Villa at home for Van Wolf, and Rooney becoming an option has put me off.

        Dogba, I have Brayford,Williams(Palace), Clyne(dk if nailed on any more) to get rid of . Currently have 0.6 in the bank. I'm thinking about Mirallais--->Barkley & Brayford --> Vidic from next week. I honestly need Mirallais to "convince" me to keep him now that he has done nothing for 4 straight games. Same for Coutinho but I have time for him as I will get Michu GW8.

    With rotation an even bigger problem this year does anybody know where we can access nailedoniness information ?...I can obviously find appearances and minutes played but that means little without the information of "when available"...Put simply...How could i find how many games Chadli plays (for example) when fully fit and availabe...is it two out of four games or three out of four games...? With Chelsea/Spurs/City/United looking like a minefield it's surely one of the biggest considerations this season...Anybody know how i could access/track that ?

      I second that request. It wold be really nice to know when players were fit but did not play/start.

        yeah...i would imagine you could get a rough idea of a games ratio for some players...but i have no idea without being able to track them..

    For members, check out the threat stats and specifically Eto'o this GW. Interesting if you ask me, especially his shots in box ratio. Watching the game I thought he looked sharp, considering he was just thrown into it. He missed his chances but he was in the right areas, movement was good.

        He got 90, Torres coming in alongside him. I think he's first choice and Mourinho knows him, knows how to use him and how to setup the team around him. I'm just speculating though, we'll have more answers after CL and next weekend's game. I think Ba will gather dust and Torres be second-choice.

    Really keen on doing lambert -> sturridge but to do so i need 0.9. Which is the best way to fund this? All transfers are for -4

    a) hazard -> lamps

    b) hazard -> eriksen

    c) mertesacker -> wisdom (back line of coleman, shaw, ryan bennet, chester and wisdom)

      Top 4k right now, anything better than last season.
      11/12 - 431
      12/13 - 52 k +

      I'm pretty happy with my start at 53k.

      Made a few mistakes (Lamela in for a hit, Dzeko captain etc.) but think I've got a pretty good team and would be happy anywhere inside 100k or so, as long as I'm heading in the right direction!

    One Suarez brace, or hat-trick and the whole complexion changes, perhaps. Current ownership 0.6%. Due back in two weeks, nailed on every week and easy to captain (first game sunderland). RVP until then 😉

      Everyone's I reckon, at the moment this is popular - Benteke/Sturridge/Giroud
      But when Suarez comes back Lukaku may free up the money for (Benteke/Giroud)/Lukaku/Suarez, probably to early to make any moves though.
