With five weeks of the season now behind us, Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey and Everton’s Ross Barkley have been two of the biggest success stories thus far. Racking up 32 points and 25 points respectively in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, the duo’s displays, allied with their mid-price appeal, continues to tempt huge numbers of new owners.

Drafted in by over 510,000 managers last week, Ramsey has already picked up over 144,000 transfers in since Saturday’s deadline and with 31% ownership, is now the most popular midfielder in the game. Barkley is not far behind – now residing in 27% of teams, the Toffees youngster is third in terms of midfield ownership, with only City’s Yaya Toure separating the pair.

With Fantasy managers looking for ways to free up cash to acquire the returning Luis Suarez, we take a look at the pair’s performances over the first five Gameweeks so far to ascertain just what sort of an impact they’ve been making on the field of play:

            Soldado drop wouldn't affect me just yet (got him at 9.5), Don't think Hernandez will drop either. Maybe should've transferred Hazard last night =/. I've got myself a Michu already and the Ramsey wagon is too far gone for me.

    Only really scored one wonder goal, and 2 'assists' with 2 wonder free kicks from Baines. Reckon Brady, Whitt and Ramsay are better options.

          At least everyone is sharing this conundrum. Go with your gut. I'm sticking with Sturridge because I like him, he's been really impressive. Maybe it was a good spell, maybe he'll get injured. I like Suarez too, maybe I should get him as well for Benteke, and keep in case Sturridge is rested/injured. And swap him for Remy. Not sure how much Suarez will rise.

        I think if you discount his attacking points so far, and compare him to those players now, i would prefer them. Not sure this Everton solidity will last. Miracle that they didn't concede against Chelsea and then letting in two against West Ham who are perennially awful in attack(sorry doosra 🙂 )

        I could be wrong but just don't feel as safe playing him each week than i would the above when they start. Happy to have ridden his points so far and he's done very well but just thinking about from now on

          He does seem a lot more attacking now than last season looking at the stats. I get what you're saying though, probably been a little lucky with his clean sheets so far.

          I think if I got someone else it'd be Nastasic, as I'm not sure Ferdinand will be nailed on moving forward (though you'd know more about that then me) and Arsenal always have an annoying habit of just conceding the one goal. Not just this season either.

      I'd be tempted to double up on Everton defence with him and Baines, if I was on a wildcard, to be honest.

        Was one of the first to have him and do rate him but his returns will be sporadic from now on, get rid if you have someone else in mind. Good player but too inconsistent, Remy will be getting the goals from now on

        No. I got him at 7.0 too, he was always a short term punt. With Walcott/Benteke etc. I'll have to keep him for this week, and probably next, but he is gone soon enough.

        I'm concentrating on my starting 11. If I need to take a -8 I would rather do that than Wildcard. Theo and Robin might be fit might they? Maybe even Benteke too
