With five weeks of the season now behind us, Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey and Everton’s Ross Barkley have been two of the biggest success stories thus far. Racking up 32 points and 25 points respectively in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, the duo’s displays, allied with their mid-price appeal, continues to tempt huge numbers of new owners.

Drafted in by over 510,000 managers last week, Ramsey has already picked up over 144,000 transfers in since Saturday’s deadline and with 31% ownership, is now the most popular midfielder in the game. Barkley is not far behind – now residing in 27% of teams, the Toffees youngster is third in terms of midfield ownership, with only City’s Yaya Toure separating the pair.

With Fantasy managers looking for ways to free up cash to acquire the returning Luis Suarez, we take a look at the pair’s performances over the first five Gameweeks so far to ascertain just what sort of an impact they’ve been making on the field of play:

      Think I would actually. Would get rid of the -8 and allow you to fix the team up a little bit (Chester, Hernandez) and potentially get in Rooney/Suarez.

    Most annoying .... so many people making transfers on Walcott, Benteke, RVP that I stand to lose 1m by friday and won't be able to make the transfers anymore ... grrrrrrrrr!! Will have to follow the sheep and do it tonight I guess 🙁

    I am thinking of Lukaku but was just checking Jelavic game time to get some idea of Lukaku's chances of starting on Monday. Does anyone know why on FPL it says Jelavic played 44mins v WHM? I thought he got replaced at half-time.

    With the theo news and rvp being a major doubt for the weekend now is the time for me to sell both as theres no way im benching 23 mil plus.

    I would rather take hits now early in the season than be too cautious and regret it later in the season because at this early stage points deficits are recoverable.

      Yeah I had a season rule not to take a hit, and stuck with it and lost value. But having 2 more casualties took it too far, and getting ride felt like a relief than defeat, like getting rid of a cancer. I couldn't have been relying on Kasami and Morrison really. Actually I might play Morrison, i think he'll come good.
