Monitor – Adebayor and Eriksen

As Tottenham’s momentum under Tim Sherwood continues to build, two of their first-team have emerged as leading contenders for our Fantasy attention. Since the departure of Andre Villas-Boas, Emmanuel Adebayor has played a part in six (three goals and three assists) of Spurs’ 11 goals over five matches, whilst Christian Eriksen has chipped in with three goals and an assist.

With 36 points apiece in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, many wildcard drafts currently include one of the duo in light of Sherwood’s penchant for attacking football. Both are still very favourably priced, with Adebayor slightly more expensive at 7.8 to 7.3 and, as interest intensifies, we cast an eye over the pair’s recent displays and also compare them to other options in their respective classifications.

Afternoon gents...

Haven't been on (much) since before the last deadline when my internet inexplicably failed and disconnected before the deadline...

I was all set to play my WC, but since I couldn't get online to do it, I obviously didn't... but I prefer to think of it as a sign that I shouldn't have played it anyway...

There would have been around a 20-25pt swing, so I probably should have, but I digress... and now I'm committed to holding onto it until after the GW23 deadline...

Quite an extraordinary thing to happen if you ask me... it certainly makes you wonder...

  Sometimes, we cannot understand why the Fantasy Gods act the way they do. I know one thing.....they can be quite temperamental. I think they especially don't like it when too much trash talking is done. I've been burned on that before.

      I think the idea to cycle Marshall/Mannone was legit. I took it a step further a plan to rotate Mutch/Ki along with them.
      
      The fixtures are great. Either those games will have droughts or will be blow outs. It's worth covering both angles. ;P

        Was going to do Gerrard, Ade > Aguero, Ki but decided to get rid of Mert for M.Olsson instead as I already have Kosc. Scared Mert will go get a 15pt haul while Ade bags a brace 🙁

This is what my current WC Draft looks like:

0.0 bank

-Will double up on Boruc/Clyne or Mannone/Brown to try to make up some ground.
-Dropped Coleman for Baines. Smart or idiotic?
-Rotating Januzai and Ki as 4th mids.

  I would consider dropping Baines for a normal 5ish defender and get a more secure 4th mid. If you like the idea of rotating 4th with Baines though then looks like you are all sorted. Good luck mate.

  I'm not a favorite of doubling up on defenders. Why not Clyne and Brown to Ward and Williamson which gives you perfect rotation [CRYS, CRYS, NEWC, CRYS, HULLC, NEWC] for coming six weeks.

Have spent 16 points on transfers this week but am still reluctant to wildcard - am I mad?!

Team is:

Mannone(-4) (Marshall)

Kompany Coleman Cahill ( Chester(-4) Dawson )

Wilshere(-4) Gerrard(-4) Lallana Sterling (Oscar)

Aguero(-4) Adebayor Suarez

Am happy with my transfers (except maybe Gerrard - don't remember doing that!), and am hopeful they will make back the 16points.

My wildcard team would probably only see Sagna, Johnson & Sturridge in for Cahill, Sterling & Adebayor.for this week's team.

I know it sounds mad but it doesn't seem worth it, would rather still have my wildcard left in 2 weeks time ?!

I accept that m/f is light but Walcott inj, YYT back problems, Silva injury conern/inconsistent, Ozil does not justify price tag & is inconsistent. Of the other mid-range players both Lallana (sun-a, ars-h) & Eriksen (swan-a, mci - h) have difficult fixtures for the next couple. Oscar could be a good shout but 1 Che m/f is enough plus I think mu will be harder than predicted this week.
