Monitor – Adebayor and Eriksen

As Tottenham’s momentum under Tim Sherwood continues to build, two of their first-team have emerged as leading contenders for our Fantasy attention. Since the departure of Andre Villas-Boas, Emmanuel Adebayor has played a part in six (three goals and three assists) of Spurs’ 11 goals over five matches, whilst Christian Eriksen has chipped in with three goals and an assist.

With 36 points apiece in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, many wildcard drafts currently include one of the duo in light of Sherwood’s penchant for attacking football. Both are still very favourably priced, with Adebayor slightly more expensive at 7.8 to 7.3 and, as interest intensifies, we cast an eye over the pair’s recent displays and also compare them to other options in their respective classifications.

Hey guys. I'm on holidays so don't have much time for FF at the moment. Thoughts on Aguero? Wildcard time or stick it out? I was planning on WCing in 2 weeks.

  I wouldn't WC it will ruin your holiday 😉
  Aguero is a worry to non owners but he will prob play between 30-70 minutes and negredo on good enough form to out score him anyway. City also have tough couple of fixtures despite them being fairly fixture proof. So points wise you can get away with it but his price will rise a bit so that may reduce the rest of your team in your WC.

    Thanks, agreed maybe a bit unnecessary but don't have too any other options to spend elsewhere. Only option I can see is to keep some money back to upgrade Giroud to Rooney when he returns.

  I don't like it much, Ozil is wonderful at home, and has Fulham coming up. Southampton also have some good fixtures. You can switch Ozil to Silva later. But not this week.

    Considering Ozil is even more expensive yet people keep him...I have no room for Giroud in my team, so Cazorla in his prime would be a nice way into the Arsenal attack formation. Of course I'd rather have a 7.x Ramsey but still.

      Exactly... Cazorla is really having a bad season, even Pod should be playing more. I don't want to rely only on Ozil home games at this price, so I decided to go for Wilshere as differential then upgrade to Ramsey

      I read that Sherwood wants to play Lamela in the hole at some point and with so many options in Spurs midfield, I don't think Eriksen will be playing 90mins every game...

  Could pay off. Oscar plays as a CF so you could get scenarios where Hazard gets an assist for a Oscar goal. For Chelsea's upcoming fixtures though I wouldn't go with two Chelsea attackers.

      You could upgrade Kolarov (his gametime is not 100% guaranteed) to Zab.
      Zab is the safe option.
      
      Can you do Januzaj to Noone then Kolarov to Zab then Wilshere to Ramsey (when fit)?

    This is a fair point but remember with a strong 5th mid , ok around 1m dearer - when you have an injury / someone rested it does allow you time to fix it slowly ,
    Play your ' decent ' 5th mid whilst say Ramsey returns and panic doesn't have to set in to get rid of say Ramsey in a rush (hits etc) ,
    I think both are viable strategies based on personal opinion.
