Monitor – Adebayor and Eriksen

As Tottenham’s momentum under Tim Sherwood continues to build, two of their first-team have emerged as leading contenders for our Fantasy attention. Since the departure of Andre Villas-Boas, Emmanuel Adebayor has played a part in six (three goals and three assists) of Spurs’ 11 goals over five matches, whilst Christian Eriksen has chipped in with three goals and an assist.

With 36 points apiece in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, many wildcard drafts currently include one of the duo in light of Sherwood’s penchant for attacking football. Both are still very favourably priced, with Adebayor slightly more expensive at 7.8 to 7.3 and, as interest intensifies, we cast an eye over the pair’s recent displays and also compare them to other options in their respective classifications.

      Oscar v Silva is a tough one upon reflection. Oscar quite central to all that they do attack-wise and seems to be more often involved in the goals for Chelsea while City score a ton more but Silva assisting the assister is rough. May do well to get Oscar and use that bit of difference saved elsewhere and just go without a City mid.

    SAS is the correct term for Studge and Suarez after Shearer and Sutton. You lot on here modified it to include aguero!

  -Navas is a rotation risk.
  -SAS is a bad idea. Think of the times they play against the top ten clubs.

    I don't understand how eager some are to ditch him. Yes, I'd love Aguero back, but Negredo is on fire and has 6 in his last 3 games. Ditching a player in that kind of form before a favourable home game is asking for trouble.

WC team good to go? Been mulling over the Negredo to Aguero transfer but I think it's worth it. Aguero on pens and will save an inevitable transfer later on.

  If I had some way to get both in without taking a hit this week, I would. But, as I can't, I'll be waiting until after those two fixtures to consider them again. City don't score big away from home, and Jose has proven he's more than capable of shutting up shop away to the big guns.

With Arsenal, Everton and Chelsea conceding the same amount of goals (19) and having almost identical clean sheet stats (9,9,8) does anyone else think the 'don't double up on defence' argument a pointless one?

In that light, Baines & Coleman seems like a win-win to me.
