The Weekend Team News

Arsenal are missing a trio of players for the visit of Fulham. Swansea’s injury troubles ease. Sylvain Distin returns for Everton. Joe Allen is back for Liverpool. John Guidetti is in Stoke’s squad to face Palace. Nathan Baker is ruled out for Villa, whilst James Collins may be fit for West Ham’s home clash against Newcastle:

Aaron Ramsey is still ruled out for Arsenal’s clash with Fulham and is joined on the sidelines by Thomas Vermaelen and Mikel Arteta, but Arsene Wenger expects the two midfielders to return for the Gameweek 23 trip to Southampton. Nacho Monreal and Tomas Rosicky are set for late tests, though the Gunners boss thinks ”both of them will be alright”.

Sylvain Distin has returned to training for Everton and could figure against West Brom on Monday evening. The Everton squad flew out for warm weather training in Tenerife and Roberto Martinez revealed new boy Aidan McGeady “looks sharp” as he continues to build up his match fitness.

Rene Meulensteen has confirmed that Fernando Amorebieta is Fulham’s only doubt as they prepare to take on Arsenal. The defender picked up a knee ligament problem in training and will need to be assessed.

West Ham are ”hopeful” James Collins will return from a calf injury for the home game against Newcastle. Ravel Morrison also confirmed to the club’s official website he has been working hard to get back to full fitness following a groin injury.

Chris Hughton gave an injury update on Thursday revealing that winger Anthony Pilkington and central midfielder Alex Tettey have both returned from injury lay-offs. The duo will be in the squad for Norwich’s clash with Hull this weekend.

Aston Villa will be without Nathan Baker for the trip to Anfield this weekend. The defender was stretchered off with concussion against Arsenal on Monday, with Paul Lambert revealing “he’s still feeling a bit groggy with a bit of a sore head”.

Brendan Rodgers reveals that Joe Allen has returned to training following an abductor problem and could figure against Aston Villa. The Liverpool boss also intends to check on the fitness of Mamadou Sakho, who has missed the last couple games with a hamstring issue.

Thomas Sorensen is back for Stoke but will have to accept a role on the bench, with Jack Butland a confirmed starter for the trip to Palace. Loan signing John Guidetti is also in the squad, though Robert Huth and Andy Wilkinson remain sidelined along with Asmir Begovic.

Swansea delivered positive news on the fitness of wingers Nathan Dyer, Pablo Hernandez and Roland Lamah ahead of the visit of Tottenham Hotspur. Roland Lamah is expected to return to the Swansea squad to face Spurs this weekend, whilst Pablo Hernandez and Nathan Dyer and Dwight Tiendalli are all in with a chance of shaking off injuries. Jonathan De Guzman remains sidelined with an ankle problem. Michel Vorm should return to training next week after minor knee surgery and Jose Canas awaits further scans on the ankle injury that forced him off at United.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

So I intentionally missed out on Aguero rise last night as I can afford that 0.1 difference, now give me some info in the pressers about Kun and Rooney!

    Need to decide between:

Lukaku > Sturridge (keep Rooney for the next 2)
    Rooney > Aguero (keep Lukaku)
    Rooney > Negredo

If he's back though he has Cardiff (H) next game and I'm WCing after. Comes down to:

Lukaku (wba, liv) + Aguero (CAR, tot)
        vs
Sturridge (AVL, EVE) + Rooney (che, CAR)

B seems to be the better option especially if Aguero only gets about 45 this weekend. Will have to wait for more info but likelihood is that I'm doing Rooney > Kun.

You were going to play Bardsley over Lallana?

Big call, I'm playing Bardsley (don't have Lallana), but would quite fancy Southampton to score a goal.

The turmoil "may" have some effect though, so hoping on Bardsley maybe keeping a cleanie and hopefully some attacking points.

Haha, yeah, I wasn't clear at all.

Right now I'm playing Kosc-Azpil-Coleman-Kolarov with Lallana first sub. I thought Sunderland would keep Southampton out but that looks a lot less certain now, looking at Wakey's table.

Great table and timely reminder of Cabaye's potential. Fixtures actually pretty good as well for Newcastle, with only Chelsea looking like keeping a clean sheet against them.

West Ham's ability to keep out shot happy Cabaye looks pretty shakey.

Cabaye for that ultimate wildcard differential? I certainly think so.

Cabaye and ultimate wildcard differential should not be in the same sentence! Not to mention over 15% of the game own him 😀

Out of Eriksen, Lallana and Cabaye though, i'd probably go for the toon, bit of a stats geek like that.

As Wakey says though - Cabaye is not being mentioned as much as he should be according to the stats.

good luck if you pick him. He's certainly moved to the top of my midfield mid price list.

"Only good as your last game" has a tendency to be abound around football fans! Sure, people are going off Ozil after one bad game.

Cabaye is a fine pick, has that nice mixture of consistency, backed up by his stats. Only real worry, is that the toon's can have trouble against the poorer sides occasionally.

Pretty settled on this WC team, any glaring issues/suggestions? Also, is McCartney at WHAM a fill in until some players come back from injury, or is he a prospect? Any advice on a super cheap 5th mid would be much appreciated as well.

    Boruc, Davis
    Coleman, Azpilcueta, Kolarov, Chester, Marriapa
    Hazard, Silva, Ozil, Wilshere, Pozuelo
    Suarez, Aguero, Giroud

0.1m in the bank. Kolarov is a short term punt, will downgrade him to a 4.0-4.5 defender and upgrade Wilshere to Ramsey when he is properly back. Cheers folks!

Ok time to decide. Opinions on these options please:

    A) Evra + Bony
    B) Evra + Giroud
    C) Kolarov + Lukaku
    D) Kolarov + Sturridge (-4)

    Currently on A
