The Weekend Team News

Arsenal are missing a trio of players for the visit of Fulham. Swansea’s injury troubles ease. Sylvain Distin returns for Everton. Joe Allen is back for Liverpool. John Guidetti is in Stoke’s squad to face Palace. Nathan Baker is ruled out for Villa, whilst James Collins may be fit for West Ham’s home clash against Newcastle:

Aaron Ramsey is still ruled out for Arsenal’s clash with Fulham and is joined on the sidelines by Thomas Vermaelen and Mikel Arteta, but Arsene Wenger expects the two midfielders to return for the Gameweek 23 trip to Southampton. Nacho Monreal and Tomas Rosicky are set for late tests, though the Gunners boss thinks ”both of them will be alright”.

Sylvain Distin has returned to training for Everton and could figure against West Brom on Monday evening. The Everton squad flew out for warm weather training in Tenerife and Roberto Martinez revealed new boy Aidan McGeady “looks sharp” as he continues to build up his match fitness.

Rene Meulensteen has confirmed that Fernando Amorebieta is Fulham’s only doubt as they prepare to take on Arsenal. The defender picked up a knee ligament problem in training and will need to be assessed.

West Ham are ”hopeful” James Collins will return from a calf injury for the home game against Newcastle. Ravel Morrison also confirmed to the club’s official website he has been working hard to get back to full fitness following a groin injury.

Chris Hughton gave an injury update on Thursday revealing that winger Anthony Pilkington and central midfielder Alex Tettey have both returned from injury lay-offs. The duo will be in the squad for Norwich’s clash with Hull this weekend.

Aston Villa will be without Nathan Baker for the trip to Anfield this weekend. The defender was stretchered off with concussion against Arsenal on Monday, with Paul Lambert revealing “he’s still feeling a bit groggy with a bit of a sore head”.

Brendan Rodgers reveals that Joe Allen has returned to training following an abductor problem and could figure against Aston Villa. The Liverpool boss also intends to check on the fitness of Mamadou Sakho, who has missed the last couple games with a hamstring issue.

Thomas Sorensen is back for Stoke but will have to accept a role on the bench, with Jack Butland a confirmed starter for the trip to Palace. Loan signing John Guidetti is also in the squad, though Robert Huth and Andy Wilkinson remain sidelined along with Asmir Begovic.

Swansea delivered positive news on the fitness of wingers Nathan Dyer, Pablo Hernandez and Roland Lamah ahead of the visit of Tottenham Hotspur. Roland Lamah is expected to return to the Swansea squad to face Spurs this weekend, whilst Pablo Hernandez and Nathan Dyer and Dwight Tiendalli are all in with a chance of shaking off injuries. Jonathan De Guzman remains sidelined with an ankle problem. Michel Vorm should return to training next week after minor knee surgery and Jose Canas awaits further scans on the ankle injury that forced him off at United.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

I hope Ozil ups his game this week for all you owners..That wasn't the same Ozil last weekend that signed on in the summer. He was an imposter...Rubbish.

Yes. Fulham at home seems a good game to turn it on.
And it's a chance for Arsenal to get points on the board ahead of the Liverpool & Chelsea games.

Should be yeah..if he's anything like last week it's time to go. Most have him as an alternative to Wally...but...Wallys last four games 15 shots and 37 penalty area touches...Ozil's last four games 3 shots and 12 penalty area touches....I'll wait for Ramsey !!

Only brought Ade in last GW.. After the article yesterday about the stats of him and Eriksen I'm tempted to save a transfer and see how he does against Swansea.. Swansea haven't been exactly tight at the back this season.

I feel like I've finally cracked it,
If you're bored of RMWCT's please look away now - unless I gave feedback on yours and there's been a few!

    Boruc, Mannone
    Baines, Coleman, Koscielny, Kolorov, Chester
    Hazard, Ramsey, Silva, Cabaye, £4.1m
    Suarez, Aguero, Sturridge

To be played on Saturday as soon as the game is live again.
£0m in the bank so I can't cope with any rises.
Kolorov is a luxury but Kos is a good first sub to have.
Baines and Coleman have some great home fixtures and are both very attacking, I can't think of a single other defender I would rather have.
Having 1 decent sub means I don't have to panic if a player is out for the week.
Having 4 expensive defenders is a luxury but I think my front 7 are on the same level as all other teams anyway.

    HELP!!!!

    Cole, Azpilicueta or Chiriches???

Points per game: Cole (5.5), Chiriches (4.9), Azp (2.8)

3 players with low ownerhsip and could be a great differential! My heart says Cole but head says Chiriches! Don't understand the Azp bandwagon, yes he is part of the Chelsea defence but never gets any bonus or assists....

Only when they keep cleanies and I don't see a lot of those coming. And when Vertonghen comes back, it's between Dawson and Chiriches to partner him and I'd back Sherwood to pick Dawson.

Not guaranteed but I think he will. Apparently those games he missed was down to a rib injury. Fully fit now.

Chiriches is brilliant, I love him and so do the fans. He's very much an AVB style player, like a mini-Vertonghen. He'd be nailed on under AVB but Sherwood is a different kettle of fish, much more old-school and Dawson is as old-school as they come. Spurs fans on here agree with me on this.

And clean sheets don't look as likely under Sherwood either.

    Cheap double up rotation

I'm doubling up Mannone/Beardsley and Boruc/Fonte and will play one pair each week with Kolarov and Baines. Some great fixtures and a fair chance of some double cs. Of course it won't work most of the time but neither does playing two cheapo's from different teams. It gives you

SOT, STO, ful, HULL/STO, hul, whm, WBA, cpl, CPL/NOR, nor WHM up to gw32

I don't see any thrashings but a fair few double cs opportunities. What say ye?

Considering I will do Ozil to Ramsey and then up rare amalf in next few weeks, is it worth downgrading Mert (who I prefer) to Kos and upgrading amalf or 4.0 now or is this ok for now??

    Thx

Why the need to upgrade Amalf when you would never want to drop the other 4 anyway?

similar to mine. Only I have Mannone, Kos, Silva instead of your Boruc, Kolarov and Erikson.

No to your question. Your team looks good

Liverpool are on the verge of a €9m move for Lazio midfielder Antonio Candreva. (Source: Tuttomercato via: @nikpostinger)

    Any good?

Certainly better than Luis Alberto and Aspas that both cost them about the same. If they get him for that money, it shows that Liverpool's status has risen a bit. I think that if he joins Pool he will make the right flank his own.

        good to hear
Aspas and Alberto look very average, at best.

That was known already when Pool paid those ridiculous sums for them. It is beyond me why anybody would pay £7M (or what was it) for a 20-year-old Sevilla reserve player. With £7M you'd expect to get a guy who starts for Sevilla's A team

Candreva is perhaps not amazing and has some more years behind him (26-year-old) but at least he is proven on a high level. He is Italy international, be it without many appearances.

Didn't they turn down some offers last summer? Maybe their bad league position has changed their minds, but seen that they still are involved in Europa League and it is unlikely they make it to Europe in Serie A, you could imagine they are not parting with their best players easily. So, as Candreva is also wanted by more than one club, I'd be a bit surprised if he moved for that fee.

I was thinking the same, yet I am struggling for funds, to get Silva I would need to switch out Lallana and Cabaye for Silva and Wittingham. So, in short, the options are
        A) Lallana + Cabaye
        B) Silva + Wittingham

Looks good! Would start Sterling over Sess though.. Don't think he'll sit out, fancy him and Coutinho to start with Lucas dropping to bench. Just my opinion though 🙂

    A)Speroni,Clyne
    B)Boruc,Ward
    C)Boruc,Clyne
    D)Speroni,Ward
