Captain Sensible – Gameweek 24

Our Gameweek regular for members is rolled out once again ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Liverpool’s trip to West Brom sees Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge place highly in the Captain Poll, whilst United’s visit to Stoke also supplies our analysis with a couple of popular contenders. Arsenal’s home game against Palace also comes into the reckoning, whilst we also unmask this week’s “Captain Unsensible” and cite the statistics to back up our bold punt:

    -------Yaya Fernandinho
    Navas-------Silva------- Kolarov

      Virtually nil.

Why would they change from two up top that has worked all season, especially at home?

To have an extra body in midfield. They don't need to win this game, they just can't lose it.

Course they'll go for the win, they might just be a bit more caustious to start with as they lost to Chelsea last time out.

Which of these combos do you prefer, I narrowed it to three options:

    A) Yaya and Sturridge (double up on City mids and Liverpool attack)
    B) Mirallas and RVP
    C) Mata and Dzeko

Lescott will only leave IF City get a new CB. With their fixtures all their defenders will get games, no one Pelle will let one leave without someone else coming in

I have that pairing, though I have the marginally more expensive Shaw, simply for certainty of starts.

They have nice rotation, Sunderland's away fixtures basically mean survival comes down to home form. West Ham have as many league clean sheets as Arsenal do, and with with their injuries starting to clear I'd back them to get back to their old solid selves. Andy Carroll is a big factor here as well.

yeah, you should have gone on Tuesday, missed a few price rises, I will get a double rise out of AJ and Sturridge tomorrow.

Decided not to have Arsenal defence either. I am determined to keep Evans, after this week I'd back Azpi to get me a few and i reckon rotating 3 strong home defences (Norwich, Palace, Saints) can easily match Kos, especially with Arsenal's fixtures

Probably will go for the same - even when they lose, they tend to get save points, especially Mannone.

The only worry I have is that the Saints defenders are all injury prone - Boruc looks the safest way into their backline. :/

So maybe Boruc/Adrian/S'land defender. Or Boruc/Mannone/Reid. Will check the rotations though.

Hi all, couple of questions, bit long but won't take long to answer.. Much appreciated if any help.

        1) Will Aguero fall today? Is quite far off on TotalFPL but due to timezones I will be asleep when price changes occur.
        2) Will Fabio change to Cardiff before the deadline? Want to bring in RVP/Rooney for Aguero but already have Mata, Januzaj and Fabio.
        3) What is the best way for me to bring in RVP into my team? Team is:

        Adrian Marshall
        Coleman Terry Ward Fabio Bardsley
        Hazard Lallana Januzaj Johnson Mata
        Adebayor Aguero Suarez

0.3 in bank and 1FT. Could do Ade > JRod and Ag > RVP. The following week do Lallana/Johnson to Eriksen? Or should I sell Terry...? Will leave me with 5.4 for a defender which could buy me someone of decent quality but its hard letting go of Terry.

        4) Why was I so stupid and did not captain Suarez and bench Adrian last GW??

So I've narrowed it down to Benteke or Giroud as my Aggy replacement (max available spend is 9.3m).

        - RMT tool has Giroud miles out in front

        - Player stats over the last 4 weeks has Benteke miles out in front

        Which gets your vote?

I see.. No obvious choice is there. Perhaps Per after CPL, or Johnson.. but to who is tough.

Pretty set on Benteke I think as a replacement for Kun.

Would leave me 4.1 itb so a bit of a dilemma next week!

Have SS and Mata so don't want Roo, would like Rvp but can't afford it. Leaving Tekkers or Giroud, or Ade ...

Someone do a post listing all the potential Aguero replacements, giving the pro's & con's for each.

A wee sticky for you if you do.

Apart from Adrian, what's the best route in the West Ham defence? Is Collins pretty nailed on?

Cheers Sir. Can't afford Reid right now but will hold off on getting Collins in until things are clearer.

I'm on my wildcard, and I'm thinking of getting Johnson for a 2 week punt? Is it worth it? It means I'll have to do Johnson --> Eriksen in two weeks, I just really like Johnson's upcoming two fixtures. Plus, I don't wanna double up on Spurs attack in the next two weeks either. So, should I get Johnson for a two week punt, or isn't it worth it?

          It is.

That's exactly why I got him.

Could someone clarify what teams are missing upcoming GWs and if any DGWs are confirmed? Bit confused as to what is going on in that regards.Thank you.

Man City, Man United, West Brom and Sunderland all out on GW28 and the games now on GW31.

GW29 could feature more blanks (and therefore more DGWs) depending on the results of the FA Cup 5th round matches.

        Who to captain?

Giroud, Sturridge, Rooney, Hazard, Mata, Yaya Toure, HBA?

It's on Giroud at the moment.

        Hi Guys, on my Wildcard,

        Please do your worst!

        Adrian - Mannone
        Evans - Koscielny - Ward - Yoshida - Burner/Fabio
        Gerrard - Mata - Cazorla - Puncheon - Noone
        Adebayor - RVP - Suarez

Will have 1.1 in the bank for a rainy day or tweaks. Thanks.
