Injuries

The Treatment Table – Gameweek 29

Once more, we scour the weekend’s matches and analyse the press reports for news of any fresh injuries to concern Fantasy managers as we tentatively pencil in plans for the weekend and beyond:

Arsenal
Kieran Gibbs is a doubt for the Gunners’ Champions League clash against Bayern Munich on Wednesday evening after being subbed off with a calf complaint in the weekend FA Cup win over Everton.

Cardiff
The Bluebirds centre-half Ben Turner was forced off in the dying minutes of Saturday’s 3-1 win over Fulham due to injury, reports the club’s official website.

Chelsea
Fernando Torres was named in the starting line-up to face Tottenham on Saturday evening but was withdrawn after picking up a problem in the warm-up. Jose Mourinho revealed he could be without the Spaniard for the next fortnight:

“Torres has a muscular problem and even when they are small it is always a couple of weeks. He has to go for scans. He’s already had two problems, in both knees, both ligaments, but his recovery was faster than we expected. He also had a little muscular problem and now he’s having another one. Sometimes it happens. There are other players who have the same. Others have a complete season without problems.”

Fulham
Reports in the local press confirm Ashkan Dejagah was forced off just after the break in the 3-1 defeat at Cardiff due to injury.

Hull City
Jake Livermore was omitted from the matchday squad in yesterday’s 3-0 FA Cup win over Sunderland after picking up a thigh problem, according to local reports.

Man United
David Moyes confirmed Rafael was subbed off late on in the 3-0 win over West Brom after sustaining an ankle knock.

Newcastle
Reports in the local press indicate Loic Remy will be assessed ahead of next weekend’s trip to Fulham. Remy is hopeful of returning in time to face the Cottagers after receiving lengthy treatment on an ankle problem sustained during France’s friendly win over Holland last Wednesday evening.

Southampton
Jack Cork was subbed off in the first-half of Saturday’s win over Palace with an ankle problem. Early reports indicate he left the stadium wearing a protective boot and may be facing weeks on the sidelines.

Sunderland
Gus Poyet confirmed Jozy Altidore, Wes Brown, Valentin Roberge and Craig Gardner all missed yesterday’s FA Cup clash against Hull after picking up knocks.

Tottenham
Michael Dawson was withdrawnin the second-half of Saturday evening’s hammering at Stamford Bridge after suffering a hamstring injury. Mousa Dembele also missed the match with a similar complaint.

West Brom
Claudio Yacob, Chris Brunt and Steven Reid were all forced offin Saturday lunchtime’s home loss to United due to injury. Yacob picked up a hamstring problem, whilst the latter pair both sustained knee injuries.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

2 FT, 5.1 in the bank

Adebayor, Paulinho, Mertesacker ->>> Lukaku, Yaya, Baines is my plan

Worth the -4 or should I wait to get Yaya or Baines next week?

Am considering captaining Ricky Lambert this gw. Suarez is always an option and will come close.

Norwich are a bit rubbish and I can see him scoring before swapping for Aguero.

        A. Zabaleta, Chambers, Mannone/Adrian, Davis
        B. Collins, Shaw, Mannone, Adrian

I am as well. My reasons are simple - DGW teams have good fixtures in the upcoming one; due to low TV I wouldn't be able to afford team I want for the DGW, becaue a lot of players will rise this week already

            2 reasons.

            1. Aguero, won't be able to afford him at 0.3 higher, struggling enough with value as it is.
            2. Simply, I think my WC team would outscore my previous team in GW30.

I really like Zabaleta, think he could have a big end of the year, but Chambers looks to be deadweight, no? So I'd say A with a different budget defender (If it exists)

Now I honestly don't think I can do better than this with my GW 31 WC. Agree?

        MANNONE (Gazzaniga)

KOMPANY - DISTIN - CHESTER (Azpi - Ward)

        YAYA - NOLAN - STERLING - KI / Hazard

        STURRIDGE - KUN - SUAREZ

0.2 in the bank as safety.

I've got Baines,Smalling,Collins and Mannone in defence (not particularly happy with my backline except Baines)
Mata,Mirallas,Sterling and hazard are mids (Ki on the bench)
              SAS front line.

would like to strenghten defence regarding to fixtures, not sure of Mirallas' play time also.
except these eventual changes, wouldn't do anything.

        Hi folks,

        Could do with some help.....

How do you see the best changes to the team below for GW31?
        I have 2.5m in the bank & 2 FT's.

        Mannone Marshall
        Ward Koscielny Collins Bruce Coleman
        Mata Hazard Lallana Mirallas Januzaj
        Adebayor Sturridge Suárez

The obvious move is Ade > Aguero, but need more cash, so was thinking of also doing Mirallas & Lallana > Yaya & Noone. Problem is that both those guys have good fixtures in GW30.

        I would appreciate your thoughts......

Watching the game, Noone was their stand-out player but not sure if that shows on the stats?

One FT. Looking for big points and a price riser since I'm playing my WC next week for sure.

        Mannone, Marshall
        Terry, Azpil, Coleman, Turner, Ward
        Mata, Hazard, Snodgrass, Ince, Lallana
        Suarez, Sturridge, Rodriguez

        3.7m in the bank

I'm thinking Mata > Toure, but maybe there's a smarter play out there for one week..

But I'd be giving up JRod against Norwich at home... Do you think Everton'll do better against Cardiff?

norwich arent gonna play that open as well

also check jrod stats scores away from home due to the style they play

Which would you rather have for the double:

        a. Mertesacker and Sissoko
        b. Kolorov and AJ (-4 points)

How essential is Aguero for the DGW? City don't look the threat they were a matter of weeks ago. Thinking of having only Yaya for City cover as Sturridge and Suarez should comfortably cover a lack of Sergio.

Nobody convinces me particularly. Could be crucial though. Aguero and Rooney are the premium options; Lukaku and Remy slightly less but could do well; Carroll the wild punt.

I think looking at current form and fixtures Jelly is also a good option, just not a trendy one.

Ok Stoke are a tough nut at home but with Long and Jelly up front they could still do well there. The thing is though at 6.9 it gives other options. Like Baines instead of Distin etc etc

        RMDGWT:

        Mannone
        Baines-Evra-Demel
        Hazard-Silva-Mata-AJ
        Suarez(c)-Sturridge-Lukaku

I am one FT away from this team (Schurrle to AJ). Should I try to wiggle Aguero in?
