The ScoutCast – Episode 129 – Bitter

There’s no getting away from it, Granville and I are nothing short of bitter middle aged, middle of the table Fantasy managers. This week’s ScoutCast is a vitriol-filled slab of double Gameweek failure, inspired by Yaya Toure’s relentless point scoring and our stubborn reluctance to recruit his talents.

Of course, in between skinning our sour grapes, Granville and I dabble with the podcast regulars, whilst responding to another round of community posers including a lookey-likey query that smiles kindly on my co-host and has me recounting the tale of my very own office doppleganger.

At Colonel Shoe re my lack of punts vs having fun

Try to get as many points as possible. Try and win my mini leagues, get the highest rank I can, win head to head matches, etc.

But I would never really go "I think I'll get Michu in this week or Carroll etc". Too conservative I guess.

    Thought you might. Often think it's harder to do nothing than something in this game. Obviously you can't just sit back and hope for the best, but patience is more rewarding points-wise than punts.

  nothing wrong with that. i don't think you ever need to look for a different player for the sake of being different, there are good players who just happen to be different, every bandwagon has to start somewhere. who started the season with yaya toure? who started last season with fellaini? also stigmas surrounding some players makes a good option a differential, e.g demichelis

    The trouble is we can't really take it down now, not this season anyway. If we do so it will look really bad and will be a sign of no confidence in Moyes. Next season it can go though as he would be established as the United manager (assuming he stays).

      I'm not ignoring him. i considered him a couple of weeks ago but I chose to buy Nasri and allocate the funds I would use to buy him to improve other areas of my squad whilst retaining the DGW players I already had.

    You don't fancy my chances of beating him again then? You're probably right, but I was successful when we met in the FFS Cup 2nd round, and now I will be attempting to repeat the feat in the Elite64 1st round. Perhaps I was just lucky to catch him in the right game-week last time!
    
    By the way, what was the safety score in LMS and how many are left in now? I thought my 154 (-4) might have stood a chance of surviving if you were only going to eliminate about 10 teams.

4 times I've seen it asked if Evra will be rested for Bayern. HE'S FECKING SUSPENDED. So he won't be rested, there's an argument to say Buttner should play to get him minutes before that. But conversely he could be left out to avoid the risk of injury

Which player this season have you had in your team that has done nowt for you whilst you have had him in your team and flourished every time you have got rid of that player?

For me Adebayor has been a major troll for me this season.Had him twice and got zero rewards yet as soon as he is out he explodes.

On the other hand i did get Jonny Evans for a short period of time and he immediately wrecked my head,he is the uber troll of FPL
