The ScoutCast – Episode 129 – Bitter

There’s no getting away from it, Granville and I are nothing short of bitter middle aged, middle of the table Fantasy managers. This week’s ScoutCast is a vitriol-filled slab of double Gameweek failure, inspired by Yaya Toure’s relentless point scoring and our stubborn reluctance to recruit his talents.

Of course, in between skinning our sour grapes, Granville and I dabble with the podcast regulars, whilst responding to another round of community posers including a lookey-likey query that smiles kindly on my co-host and has me recounting the tale of my very own office doppleganger.

Planning for the upcoming DGW, trying to work out the best way to max out on City players, how does this look?

Hey, morning all!

Whom shall I play - Kolarov or Sterling?
Or shall I use the FT and 2.6m to swap out any one of them?

The money and FT are crucial to my plans for the final run in. WIthout those, I have to take some hits later down the road.

  Don't think to much ahead, just do the obvious.
  Not sure which one is obvious replacement tough, Azpli or Demi.

Christian Eriksen

So many are looking to get him after his 18 point haul against Southampton but be warned.

I watched the highlights and his goals were tap ins/ a mix of Southampton errors.

Yes, his fixtures look nice but let's dig a little deeper.

Next 5 after Liverpool:
SUN(H) - fighting to stay in the Prem, didn't look too bad vs Pool 2nd half. Will be a nitty gritty match ending 1-0 to either side.
WBA(A) - West Brom have proved to be a bogey side at home this season, taking points away from Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton and Liverpool, while also beating Man.Utd. Also fighting to remain in the Premier League.
FUL(H) - This fixture looks juicy on paper but let's be honest, it's the nicest fixtures in FPL that usually let us down. Fulham also trying to fight for their lives.
STK(A) - Never an easy match against Stoke. Britannia is simply a hard place to go for any club.
WHU(A) - Hammers are usually defensively sound at home, could easily end 0-0 or 1-0, and anyone from Spurs can score, also consider they are not a free flowing scoring team.

Positives
(+) On corners and FKs
(+) Playing in an advanced position and sometimes in the "free role"

Negatives
(-) Sherwood is a poor manager, and not necessarily nailed on (some may argue this)
(-) Tottenham don't score enough goals
(-) Not necessarily involved in all Spurs attacks
(-) Not explosive (2 big hauls - coming where you don't expect - mun, SOU)

In conclusion, it's a risky decision but at 6.5 he could be a decent bargain.

I'll monitor closely at Liverpool but he might turn out to be fool's gold.

      Have the double since 2 weeks ago. So it's a long term project haha. Will ditch Baines post GW34 for Arsenal or Chelsea defender and dtich Lukaku for Giroud or someone. To be honest Baines and Lukaku are good enough to hold their own against any team so not too pushed about getting rid straight away. but could be a massive haul in a DGW

      The WC was all about GW29 and GW31 (with a view to later DGW). I'd say it netted me 25-30pts so more than happy with that. I still keep an eye on the LMS score and shake my fist at Hazard and his 21pts 😀

That link on the main page about the Silva injury seems rubbish really. No sources.. they just say that he looked injured in the derby(why did he play 90 mins for once then) and that he may need to prove his fitness on friday. meh.. i'll just wait for the press conference before panickin

  I would save this week and monitor Barkley one more GW. I wouldn`t get near Dzeko. With Kun possibly back and in form by then his minutes might get chopped. Downgrade one of your mids (preferably Nolan ---> Mutch 4.5 to get some $$ on the side) and be ready to bring in Kun if fit and/or a MCI defender
