Ultimate Fantasy Premier League – Fantasy Football Scout League Details

Last week saw the official launch of the new pay-to-play Ultimate Fantasy Premier League (UFPL) game for the season ahead. After taking part in the beta-phase in the final few months of the previous campaign, we’re keen to get involved again and plan to publish an in-depth guide over the next week or so, assessing the rule set and variety of strategies involved:

Costing £5 entry per team, the UFPL is a squad-based game that offers a cool £25,000 winner’s prize and a monthly prize of £1,000. For those unfamiliar, we’re essentially handed a budget of £160m to build our 25-man squads but, for each Gameweek, can only select an 18-man squad, leaving seven of our squad out in the cold.

The UFPL favours the more hands-on approach and affords us a “stick or twist” dilemma for every day of the Gameweek, which allows us the option of replacing poor performers with options off the bench – a concept familiar with those who played the FIFA McDonald’s World Cup 2014 or the UEFA Champions League games.

For those who are looking to get involved or have already began to tinker with their first drafts, we’ve set up the official Fantasy Football Scout league – to join, the code is 524-87.

So Borini is gonna stay and fight for his place at Liverpool. I'm beginning to think BR has gone a bit mad..seriously..why does he possibly need all these players ?

I believe Pool accepted Sunderland's transfer bid gut Borini didn't agree to terms. not 100% sure on the accuracy of that though

In other words Borini is waiting for an offer from another club. Sunderland would wait, he's keeping his options open.

Borini's delaying in case an Italian team becomes interested in him, at least that's what I've heard.

        Not overly like Spurs.
At least he's buying players who have played in the Premier League, and young players who can improve lots in some cases.
Spurs bought lots of middling, average age players from foreign leagues.

Has to be Beatles for me. The innovative production and songwriting on Revolver, Rubber Soul and Sgt Peppers alone makes them the greatest pop band ever. The Rolling Stones had an interesting take on blues and r n b but the Beatles took that inspiration to whole new levels .

Not a fan of the keepers at all, think Newcastle are distinctly shaky.

Defence is very nice indeed apart from Vlaar, don't see the appeal personally, Villa are terrible and fixtures turn sour.

      Mids and forwards great.

Dangerous going without Sanchez with his ownership (35%) regardless of whether you rate him.

RVP may not start the season and i think the 2mill difference sways it in Rooneys favour anyway - expecting both to play up top with Mata behind.

I personally believe that Chelsea could get a few CS even at the start of the season.

However I also believe that many of the smaller defences will as well, as teams haven't worked them out yet (thanks to Ginkapo for that one) and that therefore there could be just as many clean sheets floating around in the bargain basement (though I am nervous about Burnley and Leicester given their starts). But, if used properly, teams that are solid at home, like Stoke, possibly Swansea, Saints, Hull could do just as well if not better, for less money

It's a conundrum, but the less you spend in defence the more you can spend in attack, which, as it always has been, is where the points lie in FPL

      Unpopular Opinion Alert:

I liked last year's Bouns Points System.

The idea that a backline could share in the bonus points for a communal effort seemed like a brilliant idea to me.

"Too many bound points given out ruins the integrity of the game!" they shouted...

"It's Fake Footy mate... What are you even on about?"

    De Gea/Myhill
    Debuchy, Filipe Luis, Shaw
    Arnautovic, Ramsey, Hazard, Eriksen

People won't like your team as you haven't gone cheap at the back. However, you've got good balance with good Spurs, Man U, Man C, Arsenal and Chelsea players. Plus you have great punts in Arbie and Pelle. Oh and you have a great defence. Like it. Stick with it.

Debuchy has tough fixtures at start of season... would go a different direction and get him later

Which Davies? B Davies or C Davies? if B and goes to Spurs, fine fine

think Chester or Rosenoir may be a better choice than Figueroa for same price at Hull, watch predicted lineups closer to season start

fwiw, most rotations have at least one or two bad weeks

of all the 9m combos, only Sunderland/Burnley doesn't have any really bad weeks in the first half of the season:
