Mondogoal Arrives At Fantasy Football Scout

Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to announce that we’re teaming up with Mondogoal, a new daily and weekly Fantasy Football game, for the 2014/15 season.

Mondogoal arrives as a new player on the scene, backed by two of the Premier League’s elite – Man City and Liverpool – and delivers a new experience, allowing Fantasy Managers to compete for free or for cash prizes across a range of games in any given Gameweek.

The game not only covers the Premier League; Mondogoal support both the Champions League and Europa League and run contests for all the major top flight leagues – Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and Major League Soccer (MLS).

Getting involved is simple – you register an account, find a contest to join and then go about selecting your starting XI.

The basic principles will be familiar, although Mondogoal has its own scoring system which introduces new factors into play when considering your lineup. Points are awarded for completed passes, defenders benefit from interceptions gathered, while the propensity to draw and commit fouls is also key.

Each week we’ll be presenting you with our assessment of the top targets on offer ahead of each set of Premier League fixtures. Throughout the season, Mondogoal will be hosting Fantasy Football Scout contests with prize pots on offer for our visitors.

A full strategy guide, discussing the finer points of the Mondogoal scoring system and assessing how this will shape our tactics, will be published later this week.

For now, check out Mondogoal’s introduction movie below and scan their site for more details.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

First RMT of the year, replies appreciated 🙂

    Mannone/Krul
    Davies, Cahill, Evans
    Mata, Fabs, Ramsey, Henderson
    Rooney, Costa, Bojan

    Krul, Sigs, PVA, STaylor

Not 100% sure on Staylor, just lookn for a 4.0 def as I got a pretty solid 3 in the back already.

Bojan rotates brilliantly with Mutch for the first 10 wks and it would solve the STaylor problem for you too...or 0.5m to spend elsewhere......

I thought I'd have a look at a coupla' big issues. 🙂 biggisshuuu, biggisshhu sir?

    1. The Chelsea defence. Yawn. 😉

    The key man last season....

Without him: 0.90 goals conceded per game
With him: 0.47 goals conceded per game

It's the man who made Yaya look like Bambi... http://goo.gl/w1Tr1d

Now, I'm not saying get him. I'm saying double up. JT + Gaz = CSx2. 😀
And before you say "wah wah fixtures"... with HIM last season, ZERO goals conceded against the big 7 (5 fixtures). Do it. 🙂

    2. Dzeko or Jovetic?

With the range of premium mids this season, I think we've all been looking at a cheaper striker.. and where better to find a 'mid-price' forward than at the free-scoring champions? 🙂

The premium strikers (Studge/Roo/Costa) are then followed by options twinged with doubts. Giroud? Fitness issues. Ade? Selection issues. Bony? Unresolved transfer issues. Bojan? Sanity issues. 😉

Don't get me wrong, Dzeko/Jovetic have their own issues and neither were convincing yesterday (but don't read too much into that).

But here's why I'd choose... DZEKO. 😀 I think we'd all agree, it's Aguero + 1 when he's fit. Jovetic has done the biz in pre-season, but it's all about the next 4 or 5 games.

I.e. - City playing Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea.

    So, why Dzeko?
    1. City will continue to score big. The fixture is irrelevant. Last season vs the big 7, City scored an average of 3.08 goals per game. Goals mean points. 🙂
    2. On a basic level, Dzeko is the more natural foil for Aguero.
    3. In the equivalent of 22 games against the big 7, Dzeko has 14 goals and 7 assists. Pretty decent!
    4. To compare Jovetic (vs Milan, Inter, Juve, Roma and Napoli for Fiorentina), in the equivalent of 25 games, he scored 8 and assisted 7. Not comparable, but the point is Dzeko does the biz vs the big boys.

So I see Dzeko as the man for City’s big occasions coming up, and the one to keep his place. 🙂

    Problems solved, right. 😉

I should've split it. Basically, stats show...
Chelsea are awesome with Matic. So double up on Chelsea defence.
Dzeko scores in big games. Get him over Jovetic.

    I'm going for a 4-3-3 for GW1 before changing to 3-4-3

    DDG (Myhill)
Lovern / Debouchy / Davies / Luis (Vlaar)
Hazard / Ramsey / Mata (Siggy, El Almandi)
    Rooney / Dzeko / Austin

I feel Siggy will not meet the mark in GW1 versus man united so I feel it is best to go with the three heavy hitters in the midfield alone with a defense you can expect 4 clean sheets out of five (including goalkeeper) even though you might not get that, it is possible!

Siggy will make a GW2 entrance, most likely for Austin as I do not see QPR scoring at White Hart Lane, maybe a consolation goal.. GW3 is where will start to roll out the 3-4-3 formation. This is an obvious estimation and prediction and not accounting transfers in (if any at this stage but most likely)

Apart from maybe thinking too far ahead what do people think of the thought process and do people think it may achieve maximum points out of that crop

too much cash in defence...usually attacking players get the points...attacking players get the bandwagons and price rises...attacking players become "essential"...it's a 38 week game...you're making a strategic mistake

    @JK - I've considered your GK issues.

I don't think Begovic or Forster are worth 5.0.
We'll be weaker and Hughes doesn't have the defensive awareness of Pulis.

If it wasn't for Begovic's injury, he would've been the third highest scoring goalkeeper last season despite Stoke keeping only 9 clean sheets. . He also had the second most saves per minute out of all goalkeepers last season. His ability along with his amazing fixtures make him a very good pick as a solo goalkeeping option.

Injured at the moment. Not in the squad at the weekend. Don't risk it unless 'Arry says he's fit to start

    Need some opinions here.

What is the best options for two defenders priced at 4.0 and a midfielder priced at 4.5?

Based on game time and quality.

I'm thinking, Wisdom, Bruce and Traore. Thoughts?

We've bought in more than we've sold and still bringing more in.

Clyne was Koeman's first choice, hence why Chambers was allowed to go.

      Terrible

They didn't win it last year with no Europe , knocked out of both cups early

They have also lost their best player , who is one of the best in the world

Their rivals - Arsenal , Chelsea definitely stronger , United probably too
