Double Gameweeks 34 and 37 Announced

The Premier League have announced a number of rearranged fixtures this afternoon, affording Fantasy managers plenty of time to now plan and prepare around the upcoming double Gameweeks 34 and 37.

Gameweek 34

The following fixtures were previously postponed due to domestic cup matches but have now been added:

Tuesday, April 19 – Newcastle vs Man City

Wednesday, April 20 – Liverpool vs Everton, Man United vs Crystal Palace, West Ham vs Watford,

Thursday, April 21 – Arsenal vs West Brom.

Gameweek 37

The following fixtures were previously postponed due to domestic cup matches but have now been added:

Tuesday, May 10 – West Ham vs Man United

Wednesday, May 11 – Liverpool vs Chelsea, Norwich vs Watford, Sunderland vs Everton.

Schedule Re-cap

Long story short, then, five teams – Liverpool, Watford, Everton, West Ham and Man United – have doubles in Gameweek 34 and 37.

United, West Ham, Everton, Palace, Norwich and Watford have no fixture in Gameweek 35, however, due to the FA Cup schedule.

Arsenal, West Brom, Newcastle, Man City and Crystal Palace have one double apiece, in Gameweek 34.

Chelsea, Sunderland and Norwich have one double apiece, in Gameweek 37.

This leaves Everton’s clash with Palace, which was originally pencilled in for Gameweek 35, as the only fixture yet to be rearranged. This is due to the fact that the pair go head-to-head in the FA Cup semi-finals that weekend.

We’ll go into much more detail in future articles but here’s a quick check on what today’s announcement means..

Man City’s trip to Newcastle in Gameweek 34 is preceded by a trip to Chelsea that weekend but the surrounding fixtures are due to promote big investment, with a favourable (WBA, che &new, STO) run between Gameweek 33 and 35.

Newcastle, meanwhile, also host Swansea at St James in Gameweek 34, with a home clash against Palace and trip to Villa in their subsequent three.

United are handed a very promising pair of Gameweek 34 fixtures, with back-to-back home encounters against Villa and Palace. The downside, though, is that they face a blank the following week. Their Gameweek 37 double consists of trips to Norwich and West Ham.

Liverpool look ripe for investment as we prepare for our wildcards, with their schedule from Gameweek 33 onwards (STO, bou & EVE, NEW, swa, WAT & CHE, wba) looking very promising.

In addition to their two doubles and yet-to-be-schedule clash with Palace, Everton also host Southampton, Bournemouth and Norwich in the final five Gameweeks.

Arsenal, meanwhile, play twice at the Emirates in Gameweek 34, as Palace and West Brom pay visit. The Baggies precede their trip to north London with a home match against Watford.

Palace’s double in Gameweek 34 (ars, mun) will struggle to persuade many suitors, though that game in hand against Everton could come in handy further down the line.

West Ham’s trip to Leicester in Gameweek 34 has now been softened by a home encounter with Watford in the same round of fixtures. Like United, they then blank the following week but a pair of home matches in Gameweek 37 (SWA, MUN) is bound to see significant investment, bearing in mind that these are the Hammers’ final two matches at Upton Park before moving ground in the summer.

Watford hit the road in all four of their double fixtures – Gameweek 34 (wba, whu), Gameweek 37 (liv, nor) – and also blank in Gameweek 35. Chelsea also play twice in their double Gameweek 37, making their way to Sunderland and Liverpool.

Elsewhere in Gameweek 37, relegation candidates Norwich (MUN, WAT) and Sunderland (CHE, EVE) are both handed home matches that look vital to their survival hopes.

*We’ll be updating our fixture ticker later today in light of the news and roll out Scouting the Doubles articles nearer the time.

Hot Topic – Double Gameweek Strategy and Discussion

So we now know when the double gameweeks will be with GWK 34 and 37 looking like busy times for being a Fantasy manager.

Here’s what we know so far.

DGWK 34 confirmed for Newcastle (SWA, mci) and Manchester City (che, new)
DGWK 34 confirmed for Everton (SOU, liv) and Liverpool (bou, EVE)

DGWK 34 confirmed for Manchester United (AVL, CPL) and Crystal Palace (ARS, manu)

DGWK 34 confirmed for West Ham (lei, WAT) and Watford (wba, whu)

DGWK 34 confirmed for Arsenal (CPL,WBA) and West Brom (WAT, ars)

GWK 35 Blanks - Crystal Palace, Everton, West Ham, Manchester United, Norwich and Watford

DGWK 37 confirmed for West Ham (SWA, MANU) and Manchester United (nor, whu)

DGWK 37 confirmed for Liverpool (WAT, CHE) and Chelsea (sun, liv)

DGWK 37 confirmed for Norwich (MANU, WAT) and Watford (liv, nor)

DGWK 37 confirmed for Sunderland (CHE, EVE) and Everton (lei, sun)

Still to be confirmed Crystal Palace v Everton (from GWK 35)

Fantasy managers now face a tough set of choices. Which are you going for?

Option 1 - Wildcard in GWK 33 and stock up on GWK 34 assets.

But there’s a sting in the tail with Palace, Everton, West Ham, Manchester United, Norwich and Watford all missing GWK 35.

The only DGWK 34 teams with a GWK 35 fixture are - Arsenal, West Brom, Liverpool, Man City and Newcastle.

This means that any GWK 33 wildcarded team has to focus on players from these teams with around three from those missing a GKW 35.

You must then decide which chip to use if you still have it.

Bench Boost looks ideal with the amount of teams playing but there are one or two good triple captain choices too. Payet (lei, WAT) or Ozil (CPL, WBA) and Lukaku (SOU, liv). Also Anthony Martial (AVL, CPL) for those wanting to take a punt.

    Option 2 – Wildcard GWK 36

The cons of this are that GWK 37 is more prone to rotation, especially coming a few days before the final GWK of the season. But on the plus side there are no blank fixtures afterwards to contend with.

This looks potentially a less lucrative set of fixtures than DGWK 34.

There are some potentially good triple captaincy contenders though including Payet (SWA, MANU), Firmino (WAT, CHE) and Lukaku (lei, sun).

GWK 33 wildcard, GWK 34 bench boost, GWK 37 triple captaincy looks the best so far. What do you think?

That's what a few others seem to think. Andy G too is saying same on Twitter.

Given that my team doesn't have many DGW players in already I think it's the way I'll probably go.

Lets me have some punts in the next couple of weeks too.

        Fixture-wise certainly 34 looks preferable.

It'll all come down to whether there's enough good DGWers for 34 to still field a decent team for 35 I think

No bench boost for me but I really like the idea of a )boring) TC of Ozil or a serious punt on Matial or shudder to think, even Lingard for GW 34. Villa and Palace both at home!!

I could use WC in 34 (no bench boost) and triple C in 37 (there will be plenty rotation-proof players fighting for EL or CL spot).

Having no BB, wildcarding in 33 would compromise at least one gameweek too many.

Wildcard gw 33 and get 14/15 players with a dgw 34.

Make sure you have no more than 6 (one must be a keeper) who have a blank in gw35. Save transfer gw 34.

Then use 2 FTs to remove two blank gw35 pkayers. You can then field a starting 11 in gw35. Boom

The issue will be then having to re-buy players, as Everton, West Ham, Watford and Man United all blank GW35 then have a DGW37.

4 of your blank gw35 players can be from those teams (i.e. payet, ighalo) and you have two weeks after gw 35 to get two more to add to that bunch.

IF you WC in 33 surely you only get 1 FT for 35. Don't you need to WC in 32???

You get two for gw 35 as long as you don't do a transfer in gw34.

This is all very much depending on absolutely no injuries during this period

I think the goals might dry up in gw37. Might consider using TC in gw34 rather than gw37.

Sunderland might be defensively good in gw37.
Norwich will park the bus in gw37 to fend off Watford and Man Utd, and mainly to battle against relegation.

Gotta see if Lei will wrap up their season before gw37 which affects Lukaku's prospects.

For the GW35 issue, if we wildcard in gw33, and roll the GW34 free transfer, we can then have 2 free transfers going into gw35. If we take for example triple Liverpool, double city and double Arsenal + 2ft that's already 9 players for gw35.

Then if like me, people are going to keep two single gameweek players for the DGW (e.g Mahrez and Kane) then that's 11 for gw35.

However, if people are wanting a full 15 for GW35 bench boost then doing the same as the example above (triple Liverpool, double city and double Arsenal) plus one Newcastle and West Brom player, it is certainly possible to ride gw35 whilst still fielding a strong team.

If I can get 9 DGW in 34 without hits, my current thinking is it doesn't make sense to wildcard for that one, and I should go for the Wildcard GWK36 strategy.

WC in 33, BB in 34 and TC in 37.

3 LIV, 3 ARS and 3 MCI to have 9 players with DGW 34 and no 35 blank. Perhaps Elliott as well for his price and DGW 34 + no blank 35. 2 FT for 35 should Ensure 11 players in 35 + possibility of extra transfer for injury/suspension.
3 EVE players for their 3 DGW's who will remain on the bench in 35.

Just 2 extra places left then. Easy 🙂

I may be missing something....But is there a banana skin of a rubbish GW 33 on the cards? Haven't looked at the fixtures to much, but in stock piling on the DGW players a week early seems like it needs even more planning to factor in 33 also.(Man UTD away at Spurs for example - not sure I want 3 payers for that one) ...... goes to a dark corner of a dark room and dribbles.

That's why I'm planning to WC exactly in 34 (since I've "liberated" myself of the BB chip earlier).

I get a feeling that the BB and being too wise about it can easily screw many teams over just as it may elevate them.

Wasn't too disadvantageous v Norwich! If city keep playing 2 up front aguero will keep being rubbish as he drops too deep.

I suffered badly with this last season when captaining aguero for something like 6 straight blanks (maybe an assist or two in there) when bony got in the team bony was dropped for Leicester and kun went ballistic by which time I'd decided against captaining. So as you can see I'm fully aware of the pitfalls. I'm not saying I'll do it but I think I probably will

      Going to leave this here.

      Pros of 33WC

      - Go with FFS
      - Less rotation
      - Cant punt without worry in GW 31,32,33
      - Possible TC for triple GW in Lukaku in 37
      - Lesser chances of rotation

      Pros of 37 WC

      - Can already get 10 out for 34. Current planning goes to waste
      - Differential final chance to get boost in rankings
      - Better TC options in 34 with Kun, Arsenal and United fixtures
      - Will get 3 optimum Everton players if its an Everton Triple GW (basically will have one Lukaku less)
      - Possible team combo
3 WHM (SWA, MUN) - Will almost certainly have 4th/5th spot to play for. Don't see much rotation
3 MUN (nor whm) - Could have 5th to play for
      3 EVER - Probably DGW
3 SUN - Could be fighting for their lives. Hello Defoe + Khazri + PVA
4 from LIV and WAT (Clyne/Mignolet, Firmino, Ighalo - less prone to rotation)

        Pros of 37 WC

Can hold Leicester/Tottenham/Southampton assets for plum GW35 fixtures and get 15 dgwers out in gw37.

      And this.

Current Squad with DGWers marked in Caps

      butland mccarthy
      BELLERIN williams targett fuchs
      OZIL FIRMINO SILVA mahrez alli
      AGUERO kane vardy

Have 5FTs and 1M to play with. I went reverse and added the players i want/could have

Gives me this for 34. Sort off.

      De Gea
      Bellerin Clyne Fuchs (Williams Targett)
      Ozil Silva Sanchez Firmino (Alli)
      Aguero Martial Rashford

Gives me a 35 team of

      Butland
Bellerin Clyne Fuchs (Williams Targett) (all five defenders playing in 35)
      Ozil Sanchez Silva Firmino Alli
      Aguero (Martial Rashford)

With 1FT to convert Martial to Kane.

Means i can now go all in with a GW36 WC.

This is is a first draft plan. Seem reasonable folks?
With a current draft of DGWers that i would definitely want in my WC - Firmino, Ozil, Bellerin and Aguero and one doubtful one that i am carrying - Silva, seems like a waste to use a WC in 33.

I think if wait until 32 or 33 price will increase for some of target players.

Will run some scenarios now that we know the fixture list, but on the surface, my team is set up for 11 DGW (TC chip) in 34, WC in 36 (with great fixtures that week) and BB in 37.

At first look if you manage to save 2FTs for gw35 you are able to have 6 players for dgw from Palace, Everton, West Ham, Manchester United, Norwich and Watford without taking a hit to field 11 players in gw35.
