All these impressive ranks (granted you're the only ones bothering to post) has led me to decide to give OR priority next season, none of this Bolasie tc rubbish. Bookmark this, there will be a Rhino on the charge 😛

Don't get me wrong, I always try to do well, and become dullard if mini league dictates, but this season my method of catch up has been low percentage punts rather than highly owned players. Not next season

Nah I stand by it. Loads were moaning that no standout option in 37. Palace had great fixtures, he was unlucky and still beat Lukaku that week. Payet end to man u game was another dullard victory though

I learnt this seaakn not be be stubborn about anything. Go where the points are. Most decisions probably have to be dull ones, but as long as you're working in a smattering of differential punts then it's justified.

Finished with an overall rank of 73,706. Always aim to finish top 25K but after the start I got off to this year (didn't crack the top million until gameweek 7) I revised that and aimed for top 100K. Broke into it last week at the same time as I went top of my minileague so overall, pleased with my finish. Like everyone else, thanks to all here for the invaluable advice, not that I always take it but yeah...

    See you all next season.

I won my fifteen year mini league by 8 points
    Couldn't believe it
Took a -8 for mane ozil tadic in
    I was fifth since Xmas
Trading for hits and value gains for the first half of the season has helped me rise from the ashes year after year
Stick to yr guns and remember that being 100 points behind is never a reason to punt

Normally I avoid taking hit and only take a total of -16 hit throughout the season, but this year I took a different approach and took hits whenever I felt like, which didn't work for me.

So do you guys prefer taking hit or not?

I took about -32 at the start of the season over 5/6 weeks.

Basically saved my year buying in all the form players and selling my tripe... Like Rooney!

Bandwagons and TV are essential at the start of the year. Build it and you reap the rewards in the second half.

I always do my transfers on Sunday or Monday night in the first half. Then go safe the second half. Been burned once or twice.

Take as many hits as necessary to get the right players in at the start of the season, the trick is to remain patient with the right players and distinguish which bandwagons are just false prophets.

Tend to stop taking hits in November / December until the end of the season, when it becomes punt-time 😎

Exactly this. In the first half of the season I too a fair few hits, aiming to build TV while following form players around. This worked more often than it failed. In the second half of the season I had a fairly strict no-hit policy, Onky taking one since January, for gw37. TV wasn't quite as necessary this season in the nod, but I hit all the players I needed to.

Saw a lot of posts in recent weeks about different chips etc and just wanted to throw my idea in the mix. In my head it's an exciting idea but what do I know!

So, the idea simply is....an extra point awarded for an away goal scored. For example 5 for a forward, 6 for a midfielder maybe even 7 for a defender. I could see this kind of rule really influencing our decisions on which players to transfer in and even captain each week although it would make the game a bit tougher and more of a head scratcher I'm sure.

    What do people think?

Don't see the point. Plus need to make this game accessible to the masses. Would hate it just to become one where only great strategists could compete

I couldn't believe it when I logged on this morning. Bloody Chris Smalling, I bet he has lost a few minileagues for a few punters last night.

Just logged on this morning to find out Smalling scoreed a last minute own goal. Well, what a terrible final game week, just 28 points. But to be fair its been a great season, OR 4366.

As I'd never finished inside the top 100k ever I set myself the seemingly fantastical target of a top 10k finish this season, with the help of this site I placed 7624th.
Big thanks to the team running Fantasy football scout and the myriad contributors for the stats and opinions it has been really good fun.
Looking forward now to the Euros and next season.
    Thanks again

    Morning all!

    How were the final ranks?

92k here after the Smalling O.G last night and autosubs. Not the greatest finish I've ever had but won some money at least 🙂

Similar, I think just under 70k. Was pushing 2 mill in Jan/Feb, so fairly happy!

Let's hope for a return to norm next season. And Rooney as a midfielder. Please.

Rooney might play in midfield but I'm not convinced he'll be classified as one 🙂

        Blind as a defender please!

I've got a 142k finish which after starting in gameweek 5 I'm fairly pleased with.

The Smalling OG cost me 1st place in the gameweek 5 league by 1 point though so I share any frustration.

Well done on the money wins and top 100k finish, here's to a better 16/17.

As a perennial slow starter, a few things I learned this season :

    1. This game is a marathon in the truest sense. A high-percentage few-point gains by smart decisions is always better in the long run than low-percentage high-point punts. You have 37 chances to slowly but surely gain on your ranking and rivals.

    2. Statistics are good, but nothing can replace your own two eyes. If you can watch the games (or at least highlights), then do it. You can tell so much about a player's state of mind from reading his body language during a game.

    3. Bandwagonning is nothing to be ashamed of, provided you've done your homework about that player. Pride has nothing to do with points.

    4. When your OR is still low, pay attention to the player ownerships of the top 10k and model your team around it. At least you will be doing as good/as bad as them.

    Cheers

My euro team currently, playing a 5-2-3 formation:

    ------------------------- Patricio ------------------------
    Alba // Hummels // Alderweireld // Kosc // Cahill
    ------------------ Perisic // 7.5m Mid ------------------
    ------------ Bale // Griezmann // Muller --------------

Bench: Lopes --- Altintop // Bonaventura // Rafa Silva

    Does this look fine?
What other 7.5m Mid should I go for?
Should I Downgrade someone to upgrade someone else?

too much spent on expensive defenders....
      alba to Juanfran... 1.0 saved
      Hummels to Hector... 1.0 saved
      Alderweireld to Verthongen... 1.0 saved

Suddenly you can upgrade anywhere else

Well chaps i would just like to firstly say a big thankyou for all your help and advice once again this season. Although my overall rank was no where near as good as last years the main thing was i finished top in all my league par one. As always your advice and feedback is always appreciated and as always the choice is ultimately down to me but i certainly couldn't make them choices without you guys. Hope all went well for you and i am certainly looking forward to next year.

P.S. For those who feel paying the membership fee is not worthy, well i started to pay last season and again did so this season and both years i have finished 1st in my money leagues - make of that what you will but for me its most definitely worth it and i certainly will be doing the same next year!

Long may this site be up and running and long may the members keep flowing. Thanks all and thanks FFS for your website!

    Ciao.

Just wanted to log on briefly to say thanks to everyone for the help and advice this year, particularly at the beginning. I'm seeing some really outstanding ranks on here this morning, despite Smalling's sabotage, so you should all be proud. And a great community spirit present today, lovely.

My final (at least for a while) FFS season yielded an OR of 4,715, up from 7k last year - satisfyingly this was my highest rank of the season. A great week after my Champions League tournament win in GW37. 🙂

I hope you all have a smashing season next season. I may bid fantasy football one final farewell with a 'casual' approach to the EURO 2016 game. 🙂
