FFS Cup

The FFS Cups – Finals

The final Gameweek of the season sees the conclusion of our two Premier League cup competitions. Here we reveal who has made it through the finals as well as the managers competing in the third place play-off matches.

K3lviN took giant killing to new levels to book his seat in our open to all cup final, after seeing off 134 ranked Live Hall of Fame top ten manager My Pretty Pony (aka Peter Kouewenberg). This 80,381 ranked manager’s sensational score of 199 proved too much for Peter’s 180 return in Gameweek 37.

He will meet another Goliath in the final after 740 ranked Sleepysi defeated Choppers13 in his semi-final.

Of the pair K3lviN has the experience of pressure, having finished 2012/13 second in the overall rankings. Sleepysi’s top 10,000 ranking in 2013/14 also means he is no stranger to impressive end of season runs.

In terms of key differentials, Sleepysi has Spurs’ Christian Eriksen, who should start away to Hull City on Sunday after was rested against Leicester City last night. He will also be hoping for an Arsenal clean sheet, at home to Everton, with Petr Cech expected to be fielded by Sleepysi alongside Nacho Monreal, who is owned by both.

For K3lviN he has Southampton’s Nathan Redmond, Leroy Sane of Manchester City and Spurs full-back Ben Davies as his main differentials.

Chelsea’s teamsheet could prove decisive, with Sleepysi stocked up with Eden Hazard, Marcos Alonso and Pedro, while his opponent has Cesar Azpilicueta as well as the Blues’ Belgian schemer.

With two free transfers to play it remains to be seen whether they will make dramatic changes. Philippe Coutinho may be one key target ahead of Liverpool’s home clash with Middlesbrough. The Brazilian could also offer a strong differential armband option.

With a £200 Amazon voucher to the winner and £100 to the runner-up, risks may need to be taken.

There’s a £50 voucher up for grabs for the winner of Choppers13 and My Pretty Pony’s third place play off.

In the Members Cup aspern goes through the final by the closest of margins, with his 2890 rank proving the difference after both he and his 4120 placed semi-final opponent Dynamic scored 175.

He will meet 8122 ranked Malaikat Jahad, who had a far easier semi-final, seeing off Barwood 196-171.

Of the Members Cup’s two finalists, Malaikat is the more seasoned veteran, with two top 10,000 finishes in his previous nine seasons. In contrast, aspern is in his third campaign and has yet to finish in the top 100,000.

Both only have one transfer to play and aspern may be tempted to use it to ditch Southampton’s misfiring striker Manolo Gabbiadini, who netted zero points in double Gameweek 37 after a no-show and missed penalty. Aspern’s key differentials include Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, Eriksen, Bournemouth’s in-form midfielder Josh King and Leicester City’s Marc Albrighton.

For Malaikat he will be hoping his differentials Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas, Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne and Tottenham duo Heung-Min Son, and Dele Alli will be more than a match.

As with our open to all contest, the winner of this final will scoop a £200 Amazon voucher, with £100 going to the runner up.

A £50 voucher is available to the winner of Barwood and Dynamic’s play off.

Good luck to all those involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes click this link.

One of my rivals wildcarded last week and so I've only just realised he's got his bench boost to play this week.... Sunday suddenly became a whole lot more nervy.

I'm pretty sure it was an error (I don't know him to ask) and if he had WC-ed in 36 he would probably have won the ML.

I really want Fabregas this gw but one concern I've got about brining him in his fact that matic didn't start the last game. If we expect him to start the final, do we really see him missing two games in a row beforehand?

Point I'm getting at is if matic starts, and you would think Kante would for same reason, where does that leave Fabregas?

It's frustrating. Maybe I should get the boring but safe coutinho after all. That Chelsea game has so much more upside though.

Caballero - easier fixture, but city struggle for clean sheets and possibly without Kompany
    Or
Pickford - saves, lots and lots of saves!

Im both chasing and leading in my two ML (by pretty even amounts - 10 ish points) so im a little stuck.

    Cech Willy
    Alonso Cahill Kosc (Stephens Holgate)
    King Hazard Sanchez Alli Sane
    Kane Jesus (Anichebe)

    0.0 itb 1FT

A simple yes or no question here:

    -8 for
    Kosc, Hazard, Sane out
    Lovren, KDB, Coutinho in

2/3 of the players out are doubts, all 3 coming in should play. But is it worth it?

Klopp was worryingly optimistic about Firmino though.

Fantasy Football Scout daily hot topic

Who will win FPL this year?

With a 33 point gap between second and third this year’s FPL looks to be a two=horse race between Uwais Ahmed (2469 points) and Ben Crabtree (2467)

Here are their teams. Who do you think will win?

What advice would you give them to ensure victory?

Who should they captain? What transfers should they make? Who should they bench?

Uwais – 1 FT All Out Attack Chip available

    Pickford Hennessey

    Vertonghen Alonso Monreal Clichy Stephens

    Jesus Kane Anichebe

Ben – 2 FT No chips left

Sunderland have 11 injured players. I say go triple Chelsea because it could be an 8-0 or something silly.

Someone like Ogie from FFS should go for it and try and win. How often do you get even the smallest chance to win the whole thing? You have to go for it!

Ogie is now 71 points behind Uwais, 17th overall and down to 6th in the main FFS league.

Mervyn Glasgow and Billy Ketsu are the current top two in the main FFS league, but they are both now over 50 points behind Uwais, and that is a lot of points to catch up in a single game-week not enhanced by chips, wildcards or teams playing twice.

I think Ben has the stronger squad and the 2FT mean that Uwais will not be able to easily second guess him. He'll bench Anichebe and may opt to swap out Hazard for Coutinho but what would he do with the other transfer?

Meanwhile Uwais's AOA chip will be wasted unless he spends points to upgrade Anichebe

On paper this looks like Ben's to lose. But captaincy is very likely to be the decider...

I'd bring another Chelsea def in for one of saints. Azpi looks good to start. He's going for playing every min of campaign.

Ben also has 0.5 in the bank, while Uwais has none.

If I was Uwais I'd consider a hit for that Anichebe upgrade to a player Ben won't get such as Vokes or maybe Llorente.

Midfield is where it'll be won or lost I think.
The one chasing should definitely get rid of Hazard as Uwais doesn't own him and get someone like Coutinho and then use the funds on a defender maybe.

They both need some Liverpool. And captain Kane.
But with a rank of 210K I don't think in a position to advise.
      Both nice teams.

Its often very close....actually most seasons there's usually three or four that can win it.

Our own Evs was very close one year - think he was in fourth. Be good to hear from K3lviN - our cup finalist this year - he was second one year.

I think there were about 4 or 5 of us who could have realistically won it in 2012/13 so it made it quite open and difficult to block off any one player. Captain was always going to be key, I was second going into the final day so had to do Bale(c) and hope my other players picked up the points, I think this years top two will have to do the same, captain one of obvious players (Sanchez/Kane) and see what other gambles they can make to make up the points to clinch the title, nothing too risky though.

Looking at their teams, I know which player I'd gamble on for the final day, one that I've not seen mentioned much surprisingly. I can't name him as I'm weighing up a gamble myself for the cup final. The one good thing about not having a decent rank vs somebody who does, means I can take more risks if I wanted to.

Hi, K3lvin, meant to congratulate you on your semi-final win over me. I imagine my emotions when (a) Azpil got his only goal of the season and (b) Eriksen started on the bench, were the opposite of yours! Well deserved win and good luck in the final.

Hi Peter, thanks very much, it was great going up against you. I couldn't believe it when Azpi got that goal, especially given the Chelsea lineup and I was nervous about what Costa would do for you. I was actually a little disappointed when I saw Eriksen was benched, I was hoping to watch that match and it be a really close end to the round.

The cup has certainly put a positive spin on a disappointing season for me. Hope you have a good battle in the third place playoff, I'm left weighing up what risks to take tomorrow, I'm looking forward to it whatever the outcome.

It wasn't just a charity walk, he was on a pilgrimage to Medjugorje in the mountainous region of Bosnia and Herzogovina.

He renamed his team Divine Mercy just before GW38.

Both of them have players that have doubts as to whether they will start

The likes of Holgate, Stephens, Fabregas, Anichebe, Clichy would certainly not be 100% nailed. GW38 has always been a major headache for rotation

With Anichebe in the squad and zero in the bank, the AOA Chip is no use to the leader without a hit. Hard to see an obvious transfer as well.

Its a toss up though -

I hope others respond too 😉

Vardy gets my vote - frightening consistency - Bournemouth are leaky away and Lei will not want to depart the season with that 6-1 defeat being the story. Pride is at stake. With Huth and Morgan out this will be a high scoring game I think.

Sturridge has potential - but with Firmino possibly starting will Daniel get the minutes? Also as we know with Liverpool - the points get shared around - even Wijnaldum can outscore him they have so many attacking players.

I am but won't captain. Coutinho is different to Sturridge - he is nailed and is the more likely to be involved on current form.

But yes - when you get a liv player you have to keep in mind that pts will b shared

You already covering ARS def with Cech and if Hazard starts and it turns into a bloodbath he will score much more than Holding

And if he doesn't play Holding comes in from the bench

What to do for GW38 :

    Willy l Pickford
    Alonso l Vertonghen l Monreal l Yoshi l Stephens
    Sanchez l Alli l Hazard l Sane l King
    Costa l Jesus l Anichebe

    1FT / 0.4itb / AOA available

I was thinking of doing Haz + Anichebe --> Coutinho + Llorente for -4pts.

Do you see any better transfers?
