FFS Cup

The FFS Cups – Finals

The final Gameweek of the season sees the conclusion of our two Premier League cup competitions. Here we reveal who has made it through the finals as well as the managers competing in the third place play-off matches.

K3lviN took giant killing to new levels to book his seat in our open to all cup final, after seeing off 134 ranked Live Hall of Fame top ten manager My Pretty Pony (aka Peter Kouewenberg). This 80,381 ranked manager’s sensational score of 199 proved too much for Peter’s 180 return in Gameweek 37.

He will meet another Goliath in the final after 740 ranked Sleepysi defeated Choppers13 in his semi-final.

Of the pair K3lviN has the experience of pressure, having finished 2012/13 second in the overall rankings. Sleepysi’s top 10,000 ranking in 2013/14 also means he is no stranger to impressive end of season runs.

In terms of key differentials, Sleepysi has Spurs’ Christian Eriksen, who should start away to Hull City on Sunday after was rested against Leicester City last night. He will also be hoping for an Arsenal clean sheet, at home to Everton, with Petr Cech expected to be fielded by Sleepysi alongside Nacho Monreal, who is owned by both.

For K3lviN he has Southampton’s Nathan Redmond, Leroy Sane of Manchester City and Spurs full-back Ben Davies as his main differentials.

Chelsea’s teamsheet could prove decisive, with Sleepysi stocked up with Eden Hazard, Marcos Alonso and Pedro, while his opponent has Cesar Azpilicueta as well as the Blues’ Belgian schemer.

With two free transfers to play it remains to be seen whether they will make dramatic changes. Philippe Coutinho may be one key target ahead of Liverpool’s home clash with Middlesbrough. The Brazilian could also offer a strong differential armband option.

With a £200 Amazon voucher to the winner and £100 to the runner-up, risks may need to be taken.

There’s a £50 voucher up for grabs for the winner of Choppers13 and My Pretty Pony’s third place play off.

In the Members Cup aspern goes through the final by the closest of margins, with his 2890 rank proving the difference after both he and his 4120 placed semi-final opponent Dynamic scored 175.

He will meet 8122 ranked Malaikat Jahad, who had a far easier semi-final, seeing off Barwood 196-171.

Of the Members Cup’s two finalists, Malaikat is the more seasoned veteran, with two top 10,000 finishes in his previous nine seasons. In contrast, aspern is in his third campaign and has yet to finish in the top 100,000.

Both only have one transfer to play and aspern may be tempted to use it to ditch Southampton’s misfiring striker Manolo Gabbiadini, who netted zero points in double Gameweek 37 after a no-show and missed penalty. Aspern’s key differentials include Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, Eriksen, Bournemouth’s in-form midfielder Josh King and Leicester City’s Marc Albrighton.

For Malaikat he will be hoping his differentials Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas, Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne and Tottenham duo Heung-Min Son, and Dele Alli will be more than a match.

As with our open to all contest, the winner of this final will scoop a £200 Amazon voucher, with £100 going to the runner up.

A £50 voucher is available to the winner of Barwood and Dynamic’s play off.

Good luck to all those involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes click this link.

    Chelsea will get a Guard of Honour tomorrow and the 11 that won the league will surely start?

      I think Terry will start and get taken off to an ovation. He won't get the same send off if brought on as a sub and then finishes the game along with everyone else.

    Just crept into the top 1k with a mere two points to spare. What is the best way of maintaining my rank? Should I go for a differential captain pick and hope I strike lucky or continue purchasing the players that are most owned in the top 10k?

    P.S. I know the cop out answer is purchase the players that you think will score most, but I have never been so close going into GW38.

      Play the odds.

      Captain most captained.

      Own those high up on the polls.

      Your team is solid if anything you go higher pal.

      Great season for ye.

        Cheers Hibbert, hope the MLs are going your way 🙂

        At the moment I'm thinking Kane (C)

        Then with my 2FTs, Hazard -> Coutinho and maybe Alli -> to someone else. Triple Spurs seems like overkill, though it could have paid off had Eriksen started last time out.

          That all seems fairly template which is good to me.

          Hazard out is something I'm fairly unsure about personally for me own team.

          I may ditch Alli though. The ideal for me would be sorting Albrighton or JWP and keeping those two but no finances and one transfer.

            I'm struggling to see a midfielder I want other than Coutinho atm. Maybe KDB, but then there's no guarantees that he will outscore Hazard or Alli.

            I can see Albrighton scoring well, Leicester vs Bournemouth could be a proper goalfest.

              Yeah as it starting Albrighton.

              It will be something tight for me Coutinho in for free and captain Kane or Sanchez.

      Purchasing the players you think will score most isn't copping out, it's what gives you the best chance to maximise your points.

      If you have decided that's a bad idea, then it's better to purchase much owned players than differentials if you just want to maintain rank.

      1. Godot - Fashanu Zealand

        It's a tricky one to call based on my previous experiences with GW38. Coutinho is the calibre of player I'm looking at. Not owned by too many in the top 10k, but could score very well this week and playing in a team that still has something to play for.

      Great team, why not get another defender in place of macguire, u can put him on bench as well, but just in case any of your XI gets rotated, better to have someone who plays rather than an injured defender,

      Davies first sub or maybe even start him ahead of Yoshida...He has assist potential

    There was a talk last weeks about best time to use your second WC and BB so i checked how did i do with my WC GW 36 and BB GW 37.

    I had a template team on my WC, with most of the FFS comunity having simmilar team.

    Cech Caballero

    Monreal Alonso Davies Yoshida Stephens

    Sanchez Hazard Pedro Alli King

    Kane Jesus Anichebe

    Pretty standard team with high owned players and no crazy punts that can make a big difference.

    My scores was :

    GW36 = 92
    GW37 = 187

    I allways compare my scores with top 10k average because those are the guys i want to beat and thats my starting goal every season.

    Average scores for top 10k for those two GW are :

    GW36 = 63,6
    GW37 = 143,2

    So over those two GW i got 72,2 points more that top 10k average with a template team. And there was a lot of people doing their WC,BB and TC in those GWs.

    So for the conclusion, even tho there was a lot of rotation, i think that next year i will be doing the same combo of WC and BB unless we get some big DGW earlier in the season.

    How did everyone else who did this combo of WC and BB do compared to top 10k, i guess there will be a lot of scores simmilar to mine.

        I personally scored
        GW36 - 79 (WC)
        GW37 - 176 (BB, didnt use the FT)

        Rank improved from 49K before GW36 to currently just under 17K.
        The strategy worked for me, I must say, thank you FFS!!!

    I'm sure this has been covered but is anyone thinking that there is potential for getting early lineups and making changes?

    I think you need to be happy with your lineup at 1.30pm in case the site crashes but I'll certainly try and cast around as you often get news more than an hour beforehand - confirmation eg Terry starts even if not necessarily the whole lineup.

    Chasing 20 pts so:
    a) Ozil to Sanchez and Hazard to Fab/Willian for -4 ( assuming Hazard wont start)
    b) keep faith in Ozil and Hazard and just do Daniels to Lovren for free.

      A. Hazard not starting will kill you off for sure so might as well roll the dice.

    I've a 33 point lead but ml rival still has BB

    Should I Hazard Albrighton > Coutinho Zaha (-4) just to block.

    Better option for -4?
    A: JWP->Fabregas
    B: JWP->Siggy
    C: Bailly->Matip/Clyne

    My team for this week,

    Willy

    Bertrand (doubt) Alonso Monreal

    Hazard Sanchez Albrighton Sane

    Kane Jesus Gabbi

    Need to get rid of Gabbi, only have 1 FT, would like Cout but would be for Hazard.

    Could do Albrighton and Haz to pedro and son then bench Gabbi?

    Also, who do i TC this week

    Got to be Kane surely?

    Teams who can't change position...
    SUN MID HUL EVE MAN TOT CHE
    Champions league potential 3-5th
    MCY LIV ARS
    The following can gain over 2 million pounds per place in the league, so could be on big bonuses....
    Can move three positions.....
    SOU
    5 positions....
    WBA BOU
    6 positions
    SWA
    7 positions
    WHM CPL STO BUR WAT
    8 positions!
    LEI

    From this it seems Liverpool and Palace and Arsenal have the most to gain and are against teams with only pride to play
    I have a feeling the LIV and ARS games will be tense
    If liverpool go 1 or two up, they might shut up shop
    BUR is tempting, but West Ham lots to play for
    There's usually a crazy end result, which could be Chelsea.....but who plays?

        The number of places teams can move seem wrong.

        Swansea can move only 2 places unless the get a double digit change in goal difference, even then only 4 places higher.

        The number of places other teams can move seems to be based on maximum and minimum points for evert team at the same time, but Burnley play WHU and Leicester play Bournemouth so these 4 teams can never have maximum 'and' minimum points at the same time

        It is a good message though, that teams and players do have something to play for
