The Big Numbers – Gameweek 4

It’s time for our post-Gameweek members article next as we assess the data from the previous round of fixtures.

Manchester United and Spurs midfielders feature in our analysis, as do Stoke’s weekend goal hero and Newcastle United’s new frontman.

A Burnley centre-half and West Ham wing-back also catch the eye, while we also check in with a pair of two-goal frontmen from Arsenal and Man City.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Nobody really knows for sure, but he did cost Stoke £15m. Don't think they would pay that much for a bench player.

    WC team with a 4-4-2:

    Foster (Elliot)

    Davies, Luiz, Mendy, Walker (Ward)

    Salah, Alli, Mkhi, Gross (Carroll)

    Kane, Firmino (Hemed)

Thoughts on this? Can do it for exact money at the moment.

Thoughts on this WC vs. my team with 2 FTs.

    A. Wildcard:

    Elliot
    Davies • Maguire • Kolasinac
    Eriksen • Mkhitaryan • Salah • Choupo-Moting
    Kane • Lukaku • Joselu
    (Krul, Yedlin, Loftus-Cheek, Mee)

    B. 2FTs:

    Elliot
    Trippier • Yoshida • Daniels
    Eriksen • Mkhitaryan • Antonio/Pedro • Atsu
    Kane • Lukaku • Firmino
    (Foster, Suttner, Carroll, Long)

If you filter the midfielder to players under 7.4m, who honestly do you think you need in your team? Its just a complete sea of average useless players that are a waste of funds. 433 looks a lot more appealing at the moment.

Who do you think could be the shining light of the sub 7.4m midfielders? Ramsey? Ayew?

No city is scary, but United, Spurs, Liverpool, Chelsea and City are all capable of high scoring games. One or two of them is simply going to have to go without coverage.

I'm playing my WC too. Not sure about that one. I don't think I've got enough money as well. I think I'll be keeping Alli.

Who are you picking for your forwards? They all seem so expensive, that you can only have about two of them, without having a rubbish midfield or defence. I've picked Lukaku and Kane at the moment, but Morata looks good and Man City have good fixtures coming up, so Jesus and Aguero are good options too.

I have Lukaku, Kane and Chicarito as my front 3.

I hv 2 players I really need to change......Pogba (injured), Chicarito (Could be under some rotation risk with Carroll back, misfiring and already have Antonio).

    So I did:
    Lukaku >> Rashford
(Helps me generate funds whilst covering the United attack....Other alternative was to do Alonso >> Daniels)
    Pogba >>> Mkhi
    Chicarito >> Jesus

Is it a good move for a -4 hit?

Not sure why I can't just pick nailed players and be done with it - always leaning towards riskier high-upside ones like Son, which went horribly wrong.

TAA and Holgate are the latest on the radar, both would be great picks if nailed - thoughts?

It's the thrill of the pay off if the gamble works that you can't resist.

It's sensible to choose the players everyone else is choosing, but feels boring. When you gamble on outside chances, and they pay off, is fantastic.

Sadly they don't often pay off.

Do you always pick the 50/1 shot in the Grand National?

Usually a 33/1 poke 😉 Yeah, sensible is rarely fun - but neither is getting 1 pointers 😀

My team just looks too good/boring 😀 need to spice it up somewhere, Mahrez is the only slightly exciting/not obvious one and he's only in because of the Pogba injury
