The Big Numbers – Gameweek 4

It’s time for our post-Gameweek members article next as we assess the data from the previous round of fixtures.

Manchester United and Spurs midfielders feature in our analysis, as do Stoke’s weekend goal hero and Newcastle United’s new frontman.

A Burnley centre-half and West Ham wing-back also catch the eye, while we also check in with a pair of two-goal frontmen from Arsenal and Man City.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

With Pogba and Kompany out and Willian subject to rotation, no choice but to WC. How's this?

    DdG | Elliot
David Luiz | Dawson | Trippier | Cedric | Mbemba
Mkhi | Eriksen | David Silva | Mooy | Carroll
    Lukaku | Kane | Ayew

Not 100% sold on Dawson - any other good 5.0 defender to get him out for or a 4.5 that would allow for an upgrade elsewhere, perhaps Trippier to BDavis?

Davies has been my best player yet, with the clean sheets and attacking points. I thought about getting Lowe

DDG is expensive and could get defender instead?
      Not really sure about Ayew....
Think the structure is pretty good just question marks over returns for silva I feel.

Ayew is a cheap forward that will be on the bench most GWs.

      I'd go for a 4-3-3

      Ayew to Firmino,

Drop DDG, Elliot can be played for next 3- weeks np, get another 4.0 GK.

Drop Mooy also to fund Firmino

DDG too expensive. I'm going Elliot and 4.0. Another option would be Elliot/4.5 rotation. Jones 5.1 best option for United D cover.

My current WC team, would really appreciate some feedback! Thanks!!

    Elliot (Foster)
    Alonso Kola Jones Davies (Hunemeire)
    Eriksen Mhki Choupo (Atsu Carroll)
    Kane Morata Firmino

Spending heavy in defense, is this the strongest defence?
Still uncertain about Jesus vs Morata

    Thanks 🙂

Choupo is as good a pick as any in that price range. A midfielder playing up top for 5.5 and no1 else standing out at that price it's worth a punt

My WC looks very similar. I'm going with Elliot and 4.0 until GW12 or GW15 though. And not sure if I'll go Lukaku or Jesus/Morata. Other than that, very similar.

Good team. Assuming 4-3-3. I think I'd upgrade TAA and downgrade Foster and play 4-3-3:

      Elliot 4m
      Alonso Davies Jones Cedric (Mee)
      Eriksen Mkhi Gross (RLC Carroll)
      Kane Lukaku Firmino

    Elliot | Foster*
    Alonso | Davies | Bertrand* | Yoshida* | 4.0
    Eriksen | Pogba*** | Phillips* | Atsu* | Carroll
    Kane | Lukaku | Chicarito**

1 FT, 0.4 ITB so I could do Pogba -> Mkhi

    I'm seriously considering WC. Comments?

I've got some of the same *problems.
Also seriously considering WC to put in Gross and all the other knee jerk cheap MF options.

I would bring Mooy and go 4-3-3 with strong 4 back, no Lukaku. What do you think? Really awful time Pogba to get injured. I was going to save FT and do Bertrand -> Kola (fund somehow). If I do Pogba -> Mkhi I cant even bring Kola in.

Atm I'm 70-30 on activating WC. Need to do some research on fixtures beforehand if it makes sense.

Not sure I want to take a hit. Not even sure how I'd use it. So many issues.

Pogba -> Mkhi only move I can see me doing. No Pool cover for next 3 weeks is a concern (can't bring anyone in w/o WC).

    A) Mahrez + Joselu
    B) Choupo + Vardy
    Hmm?

Joselu's underlying stats ain't half bad and has slightly easier fixtures. Plus (I'd assume) Vardy could be sliiightly more at risk in terms of playing 76+ mins. Yes I'm trying to convince myself...

bottomed :i want to do three transfers because of price fixtures and form:

    schindler to ben davies
    chicharito to joselu
    richarlison to choupo moting

of course doing all three means -8

how would you prioritize? which 1 or 2 to do? maybe all three??

I don't have Eriksen, just Kane. It's between those two for sure but the fact that Alli is suspended in Champions League for three games make me think he won't be rotated and will be more fresh.

Yeah, Lukaku keeps scoring but if we captain Kane every week, there's more value somewhere else I reckon. And Vardy got great fixtures.

100% agreed. I might be a bit biased preferring Eriksen as he's one of my favourite players (not many elite players from Scandinavia in PL). And he's on form. Should get at least 60-70min / game even with CL going.

Scraping the bottom of the barrel, but:

    a) Choupo-Moting + Atsu + Hemed, rotating the three (3-4-3/3-5-2) based on fixtures

    or

    b) Choupo-Moting + Tom Carroll + Joselu, C-M and Joselu play all the time, TC benched.

Definitely go mendy over a southampton defender. He did get forward alot but he was giving no help to otamendi and is really lucky to have gotten away with a clean sheet, i feel this may be the case for the entire season and he looks really clumsy to me, like he is seconds away from a card all the time, given the other 6.5 options i really wouldnt get him

I dont know who you have but Azpilicueta, Valencia, Kolasinac and davies all look much better options

Imo Otamendi is at risk of losing his centre back position to Danilo, once Kompany is back. He was poor against Liverpool while Danilo looks much more dependable.

    A or B

    A)
    Forster Elliot
    Duffy Jones Dawson Naughton Cedric
    Brady Salah Alli Chalobah *Mkhitaryan*
    Morata Firmino *Jesus*
    ITB 1.1

    B)
    Forster Elliot
    Duffy Jones Dawson Naughton Cedric
    Brady Salah Alli Chalobah *Richarlison*
    Morata Firmino *Kane*
    ITB 1.4

Surely A but I can't go without Kane and Lukaku, can I?

Because they haven't let in any goals in 3 of the games they have played (Brighton, Southampton, can't remember the other one)

Hey Klopptomist , just a quick one i guess you are a LFC fan? would you know if TAA may play this game week ? or what hes chances are in your opinion, thanks in advance. And i am slowly coming around with Morata i guess he is pretty solid with his head and if Zappacosta starts soon these two could be trouble..... took me a bit but i am there right? 🙂

Hey there! I am but not sure to be honest. I would hope so - imo he's more attacking than Gomez but slightly less solid so Burnley at home seems like his kind of fixture, can't be sure though! Haha assuming he left the toilet seat up this time then? 😉

Mini poll please guys, replacing Pogba is messing with my mind, to give a context I already own Mkhi, best move of these

    A) Jones to Davies, Pogba to Antonio -4
    B) Alonso to Davies, Pogba to Eriksen -4
    C) Pogba to siggy, week early but free
    D) Pogba to silva, not too sure on him as an option as has a much lower ceiling that Pogba looked to have this season

I guess so, tough losing Alonso but there's a real dearth of options At the 8m price bracket other than the two United mids who were my enablers for Alonso
