The ScoutCast – Episode 235 – Swingers

Careering out of the international break at speed, the ScoutCast returns in anticipation of a turning point in our seasons.

We’ve been chattering for several weeks on the much anticipated “fixture swing”, and now we’re all set to put ourselves at its mercy.

What does it mean for our Fantasy line-ups?

In truth, with multiple transfers and Wildcards at our disposal, Jonty, Andy, Luke and myself started this latest episode still seeking our own answers. Over almost 90 minutes and with your community questions providing the steer, we do our best to reach some conclusions.

We weigh up Manchester United exit plans, Liverpool’s blunted attack and Jamie Vardy’s recuperation techniques, before previewing Gameweek 8 in the usual hap-hazard style.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Remember what happened after this tweet?

Looks very similar to the most recent tweet...

Well, he was benched after the top tweet. So, all I’m saying is that he’s trolled us before.

WC down to two - which is best

    a) 442
    Fabianski
    Otemandi, Davies, Jones, Ward
    Coutinho, Hazard, Sterling, Richarlison
    Kane, Lukaku

    b) 433
    Fabianski
    Cedric, Davies, Jones, Ward
    Coutinho, Hazard, Sterling
    Kane, Jesus, Vardy

Hazard risk and reward. Not often will he be a differential. If he fires, expect a .5 mil price rise in the next month. If not, well, you know the answer.

    Morning chaps, a cheeky RMWCT

    Pope Eliot
    Ward Otamendi Davies VVD Yoshida
    Choupo-M Erikson Silva Carroll RLC
    Kaku Kane Vardy

    Boom!

    Current team

    FOSTER* Eliot
    KOLA* JONES* Davies LONG* ROSENIOR*
    MKHI* Erikson SALAH* Carroll MOOY*
    Kaku Kane ABRAHAM*

    0.3ITB

Think I have cracked it...Maybe Aurghhh! Few punts VVD and Yosh double up instead of Maguire for the next 4. Keep Erikson and Kaku and sort the chealsea cover when we know more.
Wasnt gonna play the WC but the team is tempting me... And price rises making me twitchy.

Planning wc on saturday afternoon, so would you change this players:

ddg, dawson, ramsey, atsu, carrol, jesus, firmino

    to this one:

gomes, mariappa, sane, coutinho, hogg, mitrovic, lukaku

rest of team: elliot, otamendi, davies, mee, mbemba, eriksen, sterling, kane

🙂 so that will be first time lukaku in my team. Still confident that Jesus is 10 times better player than trlokaku

Up wimmer to simpson. Wimmer is very uncertain and if luiz doesnt play youre in trouble. Simpson is a safe bet with good fixtures. You can always get wimmer/cameron later but I would see which one plays before I put them in my team

Don’t like Simpson. Might get Clark over him. But with Shawcross injured Wimmer will start. Surely they dint spend 18m on him to bench him?

Good day, people. Thought on using WC here?

    Current team:
    Foster*, Elliot
    Jones, Naughton, Ward, Yoshida, Lejeune*
    Salah, Eriksen*, Mkhi*, Ritchie*, Tarroll
    Kane, Jesus, Jayrod*

    WC draft:
    Courtois*, Elliot
    Jones, Naughton, Ward, Yoshida, Otamendi*
    Salah, Sterling*, Fabs/Pedro*, Choupo*, Tarroll
    Kane, Jesus, Vardy

      This GW:
      Elliot ok
      Erik for sure ok.
      Chup you want next week
      Otamendi slight risk
      Fabs Pedro good.

4 Tfrs not required yet. 16 points.
Save your WC and maybe -4 for Sterling and Pedro/Fab

        You would think so!

"I am definitely convinced some of my team-mates can join," he said.

"I just need to have further conversations and have more detailed conversations with them in order to try and explain to them what we are doing."

Players like Ronaldo, Messi & Neymar should not even think about it and join it. On 500k+ a week. They wouldn’t even notice that 1%.

Great work by Juan. Hopefully he can get 100 of them!

The only thing I can say in the players defence is a lot of them already contribute to charities.

Lots already have huge extended families they look after or charitable projects or their own. Craig Bellamy oversaw a lot of great projects from what I remember. Schools in Africa kind of things, but never making a big fuss about it like Moviestars.

But yeah I imagine a lot will join up.

Both Stones and Otamendi played the full 90 mins in both their internationals. As did Jesus. Pep won't be happy.

    So a -4 next week with 3.5ITB
    Eriksen and Mbemba
    To Hazard and Otanmendi
Gives this team and maybe enough cash for Jesus to Kun when required.
Good moves or other suggestions please?
Hate going without Morata but Hazard allows Vardy which I think I prefer over a 8.5 mid.

    Elliot

    Alonso Davies Jones Cedric Otanmendi

    Hazard Sane

    Kane Jesus Vardy

    Pereira Tarrol A. King Chalobah.

    Who would you sell first?

    A) Bertrand
    B) Trippier

    Who would you bring in?

    A) Cedric
    B) Creswell

I will need the money to switch Morata > Jesus.

See if Trippier is nailed but I'd sell Bertrand first and bring in Cresswell.

We've all been fooled about Aguero's injury.

A broken rib. Most jumped to the conclusion that this meant a full snap and some serious rehab. It clearly wasn't this and was either a tiny hairline fracture or something else, or else we wouldn't be seeing or hearing the stuff from him and City that we are.

Everyone still so keen on Jesus Sterling and Sané?

Sterling yes, Jesus will have to go.

No, but still confident Aguero won't start vs Stoke - until Pep says otherwise in his presser today...

Hope Morata will be fit for Watford though because I'm not keeping Jesus with a fit Aguero.

Sterling and Sané, it's different - they are less expensive and even when they don't start they give it a real go from the bench this season.

The Argentina team doctor - a doctor, mind - that examined him 10 days ago said he'd be out for 4-6 weeks. Which he still may be, by the way. So I hardly think any "jumping to conclusions" has occurred.

Why should I? I don't even need to. I am reliant on advice the same as anyone else is. Which includes the player himself, by the way.

    Thoughts on my WC team?

    Fabianski (Elliot)
    Ward Otamendi Yoshida Davies Naughton
    Couthino DSilva (Choupo-Moting RLC Carroll)
    Vardy Kane Aguero

    2.3 ITB
Going to switch between 5-2-3 and 4-3-3 with Choupo as a 3. mid. Bringing in Morata for Vardy in 2 weeks time. Taking a risk on Lukaku blanking vs Liverpool and Aguero probably getting some minutes.
