Dugout Discussion – Wednesday

We take a break from the incessant transfer speculation to address the small matter of seven Premier League matches, bristling with a cast of major Fantasy assets.

Sergio Aguero is undoubtedly the leading man. Signed by over 310,000 managers as the top transfer target for Gameweek 25, he goes into his clash with West Bromwich Albion wearing the armband for 960,000, including fifty of the top 100 managers.

Fresh from a hat-trick and 17-point haul against Newcastle United last time out, Aguero will be expected to return and at least keep pace with Mohamed Salah’s 8-point score from Liverpool’s win at Huddersfield.

Harry Kane remains the most captained player in the Gameweek – with “ghostship” teams no doubt playing a part in that statistic.

Even so, Kane is a key figure as always, as he faces off with a Manchester United defence that have earned shut-outs in their previous four Gameweeks. Kane has just a single goal in six league outings against the Red Devils, though that strike arrived in the corresponding fixture last season.

Alexis Sanchez earns his United debut in opposition and, as expected, it’s Juan Mata who makes way in Jose Mourinho’s line-up. It remains to be seen if Sanchez is retained on the left flank, with Anthony Martial shifting to the right. Alternatively, the Chilean could deployed in the No 10 role, though Jesse Lingard starts and seems likely to be favoured in that position.

Meanwhile, at Stamford Bridge, Eden Hazard is yet another heavy-hitter in action. He claims just 128,000 Gameweek armbands and looks set to lead the attack for Chelsea against Bournemouth, with Pedro and Ross Barkley providing support flanking the Belgian.

Paul Lambert will go in search of a successive three points when Stoke City take on Watford at the bet 365 Stadium. From a Fantasy perspective, Shaqiri is the key asset on show. The Swiss playmaker claimed 145,000 new owners as the fourth most bought player ahead of Gameweek 25

Riyad Mahrez proved even more popular prior to Tuesday’s deadline, attracting over 154,000 new owners but, as expected, he is omitted from the Foxes line-up amid “intense” interest and numerous failed bids from Manchester City over the last 24-hours.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

          He's played pretty much every minute of the season, has solidfied his understanding more this season playing frquently, Pep seems to prefer him and praises him etc, he's a great mainstay in that defence.

      Ota most nailed as he's been the best performer of those and seems less injury prone. Feel Laporte will be favoured over Stones but doubt any will play all 13 remaining games.

      Don't think any will be 'nailed'. Otamendi might play the most.

    Please reply.

    Christensen has been my biggest disappointment last 5/6 GW in a row! Take him out for a hit?

    Best replacement under 6.3? Already have jones.

      Totally agree, injuries and bad luck. Too expensive not to earn points

      I'm in the same boat have Jones.

        Just do it, Jones is nailed and great returns - only has one bad week - this one.

    Christiansen seems injury prone who should I move him to?

    Lascalles time to go? If so who to?

      Maybe look at Liverpool, West Brom or Swansea defenders.

      Unless you really need to find the extra money I'd keep Lascelles and bench him when he has a bad fixture.

      Go Hegazi or Bem Mee and save the cash. They got nice fixtures

      Average. But tbh the whole united team were poor. Spurs dominated them and deserved the win.

      His worst performance in PL. Not his fault though, he never played in a park-the-bus team before. Even at 2-0 down, they were prking the bus

    Son + Niasse -> McArthur + Auba (-4)

    Worth a punt? Will play 3-4-3

    Does anyone know if KDB price will rise. He's gone 10.2 then 10.3 and back to 10.2. Surely after his 14 points he'll go up again.
    I can't really afford Kun as his price went from 11.6 to 11.9 in 5 weeks. No doubt it will be 12 by the morning for scoring last night.
    I took a hit to get Hazard in. Which of these 2 would be best long term

    Pogba over Martial
    Wilson Ayew fine but I'd have Kun then switch to Kane
    Azpi over Alonso (think Alonso will get rested soon when new lwb gets fit)
    Get Bauer for Simpson

    So ever since I brought in Christensen into my team, he has earned me three 1 pts. First, he came on as a sub after 33 minutes against Leceister. Next game he got injured on 57 minutes. Last night injured after 27 minutes. It is time for him to leave my team!

    This is my current team:

    Pickford/Elliot
    Azpi/Christenses/Lowton/Kenny/Ogbonna
    Sterling/Allen/Salah/Arnie/Lingard
    Kane/Aguero/Wilson

    I am thinking Christensen annd Arnie out for Pogba and Francie. Any thoughts or suggestions? Many thanks.

      Too expensive mid and Striker. Chris to Jones. Arnie to walcott?

        Thank you for your reply.

        Unfortunately do not have the funds to make those transfers. Like the thought of Jones though. Just need to find a mid for 6.7 but there are not too many good ones out there.

        1. No Salah

    Best replacement for Christensen? Preferably under 5.0m. A few teams showing promise under new managers (Stoke, Watford, etc.)

    Speroni (Pickford)
    Otamendi Jones Dunk (Ogbonna, Gomez)
    Sterling Salah Son B.Silva (Walcott)
    Kane Firmino Wilson

    Thoughts on this starting line up? With Sterling as captain?

    Thoughts on these moves?

    Christ ---> Jones
    DCL ----> Wilson

    Alternative moves could be:
    Christ ----> Chilwell
    Son ----> KDB
