Monitor – Romelu Lukaku

After starting our series of members’ articles on Wildcard targets with a look at Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, our sights turn to another in-demand frontman.

With Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero currently nursing injuries, Romelu Lukaku’s recent resurgence has not gone unnoticed by Fantasy Premier League managers.

Three goals and a pair of assists in the last five Gameweeks, allied with a trio of strikes over four cup outings in the same timeframe, means that the Man United striker is the second most bought player in FPL ahead of Gameweek 32.

Following a barren autumn period, Lukaku seems to have stepped up his output following the arrival of Alexis Sanchez.

With two double Gameweeks anticipated for the Red Devils, can the Belgian claim a place in our frontlines for the run-in?

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Even if he wasn't before (I think he was), he will be after the recent brace. He's easily one of their best players and very versatile.

A potential DGW 37 which includes Watford away will be a popular enabler move.

How is this WC team? Already have FH chip. Quite like the balance and 9 players that have 2 dgw to play. Have 2 FT for gw34 and then I will swap Deeney out for JAyew/Murray/Barnes

    DdG Flappy
    Vertongen Christensen Smalling Morgan Tarkowski
    Salah Mahrez Son Willian AKing
    Auba Lukaku Deeney

    0,1m in bank.

If you've used your FH then I think you have too many players who blank in 35.

Also don't like Deeney as a pick - just get Murray.

Are people still confident of making some decent profit wildcarding now? Only thing I'm confident about is saving a couple .1s on the players I want

ye I don’t think we’ll see any double risers apart from maybe kaku and auba. but by the looks of the template if mahrez/willian/son etc all rise once there could be a 0.6 extra saved. the only positive I can take from this sh*tshow

    2. Woy of the Wovers
      • 13 Years

Never expected any profit. It's all about getting players while they're cheaper. After that every extra 0.1m is virtually worthless now.

Yeah looks like quite a few have and will go up 0.1m so just worth getting them in before the rise and that can add up quite quickly

Totally agree. It's not the worth the risk. The Russian state offer no assurances. I think the violence will go two ways.

No violence, on which case we will get the usual Russian protests of claims of unnecessary scaremongering. All playing into the Putin narrative of the world against Russia.

Or extreme state organized violence. Which will be under played by the kremlin and blamed on the victims.

The last thing Russia will want is violence to mar the tournament they need Russia to be seen in a good light

If any locals or ultra's decide to go against the state and cause trouble they are literally taking their lives in their hands... Putin will make them suffer and they might never be seen again

I've been to 4 World cups and 2 Euros without any trouble ever - despite plenty for some England fans at each. If you behave reasonably and avoid obvious flash points you'll be fine. Having said that I'm not going this time as the fun for me is being part of a proper tournament atmosphere with loads of other countries' fans, and the games/cities are so widespread I can't see that happening this time.
