Indian Premier League Fantasy – Mid-Season Update

The Indian Premier League (IPL) Fantasy game is already into the second half,with only 23 more matches to play. Let’s take a look at the season so far.

Chennai Super Kings

CSK are having a dream comeback to the IPL having already won six of their eight games. A play offs place beckons.

Key players: 

Shane Watson: The Australian veteran opens the batting for CSK and is in great form. With bowling also in his armoury he is a great Fantasy pick.
Suresh Raina: Raina has been in patchy form this season but is highly owned for CSK games.
Ambati Rayudu: Rayudu has been a revelation at the top of the order for CSK, having already scored 350+ runs in eight games.
Differentials: MS Dhoni,Dwayne Bravo,Lungi Ngidi

Sunrisers Hyderabad

The Sunrisers have the best bowling lineup in the tournament, which has helped them secure six victories so far in the campaign. They are comfortably placed to make the playoffs.

Key Players:

Kane Williamson: The New Zealand captain has been a consistent source of points all season. That doesn’t look like changing anytime soon.
Rashid Khan: The Afghan leggie has troubled batsmen all his career and this season is no different. He continues to be a solid Fantasy pick.
Siddharth Kaul: The young pacer has been brilliant this season with his consistent line and length bowling. His uncapped status makes his an even better Fantasy option.
Differentials: Shikhar Dhawan, Shakib al Hasan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar(whenever he returns from the back injury)

Kings XI Punjab

The new look Punjab team has looked good this season so far with five wins.

Key Players:

KL Rahul: Rahul has so far justified his massive price tag with some match winning knocks. His goalkeeping abilities add to his points potential.
Chris Gayle: The West Indies legend is back to his best this season. His destructive ability makes him a scary prospect to be without.
Mujeeb Zadran: The 17 year-old has has bamboozled some of the best batters in the business this season, providing steady Fantasy returns.
Differentials: Karun Nair,Andrew Tye,R Ashwin

Kolkata Knight Riders

KKR have a 50-50 win loss record so far. Improvement is needed if they are to make the playoffs.

Key Players: 

Robin Uthappa:  Uthappa has  failed to convert his starts into match winning innings, however, a big knock is just around the corner.
Sunil Narine: The Trinidadian opens the batting, bowls four overs and is decent at both. A perfect Fantasy asset.
Andre Russell: Dre Russ has been in destructive form with the bat, and can chip in with the ball too.
Chris Lynn: Lynn hasn’t been at his best this season, but has still managed to rack up runs at a decent strike rate.
Differentials: Nitish Rana,Kuldeep Yadav

Rajasthan Royals 

The Royals have only three wins so far and and need five wins in six games to progress to the playoffs.

Key Players:

Jofra Archer: One of the best T20 bowlers in the world, the Barbados born Englishman is almost essential for RR games. He can chip in with the bat too.
Ben Stokes: Stokes hasn’t been in form this season, but his all round credentials still make his a good pick.
Jos Buttler: The 18 ball 50 against DD, combined with RR’s opening woes, should seal his position at the top of the order. That makes him a good fantasy asset.
Differentials: Ajinkya Rahane,Sanju Samson,K Gowtham

Royal Challengers Bangalore

RCB once again seem to be struggling with their bowling and will struggle to make the playoffs.

Key Players: 

AB de Villiers: Essential
Virat Kohli
: Essential
Umesh Yadav: Yadav has been brilliant in the powerplay overs and is the best route into the RCB bowling attack.
Differentials: Quinton de Kock, Tim Southee, Yuzvendra Chahal

Mumbai Indians

The defending champions have had a disastrous start, losing six of their eight games so far. However, they have fought back from such situations in the past and shouldn’t be ruled out.

Key Players: 

Rohit Sharma: The MI skipper hasn’t been consistent this season. But when on song he is one of the best batsmen in the world.
Jasprit Bumrah: One of the finest T20 bowlers, Bumrah is always a good Fantasy pick.
The Pandya Brothers: The brothers bat in the top six and bowl three to four overs each, which enhances their Fantasy appeal.
Differentials: Ishan Kishan,Evin Lewis,SuryaKumar Yadav

Delhi Daredevils 

The Daredevils have three wins in nine games and need to win their remaining games to make the playoffs.

Key Players:

Rishabh Pant: The youngster is in blistering form this season and is the current holder of the Orange cap.
Shreyas Iyer: The new DD skipper is also in good form, scoring four 50s in his last five games.
Trent Boult: Boult is spearheading the bowling attack in the absence of Kagiso Rabada and Chris Morris. He is also the current holder of the purple cap.

FFS League Standings

The FFS League on Fandromeda is currently led by Dreams, while the Official game league has Brain Damage at the top.

      Batsmen surely tend to get more points this season. Points system seems fair though.

    Does 'MULITPLY" chip only double 6 players' score in that game?

    I had used in one of the MI game few days game and it didnt double up K. Pandya's score (he was 7th player)

      Don't think there's such a rule. All players points should get doubled.
