Fantasy Football Scout Cup – The Final

After two months of ties, we can now reveal who has made it through to the final of our Fantasy Premier League Cup, which takes place over Gameweek 38.

An impressive score of 86 points was more than enough for 2EyedTurk to see off PetesBlair’s tally of 48 and book his place in the final.

Ranked in 20,336th place, he will be up against Boxing Can Girouds, who is 9,486 places above him in the overall standings and had a far tougher semi-final clash, beating Batmaniac by a slender 82-79 margin.

Each of our finalists currently has eight differentials for the season finale.

Both own Manchester United stopper David De Gea, Manchester City duo Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling, Chelsea’s Marcus Alonso, Spurs striker Harry Kane and budget defenders Matt Lowton of Burnley and Crystal Palace’s James Tomkins.

In midfield 2Eyed Turk can call on Manchester City winger Leroy Sane, Spurs midfielder Dele Alli, Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard and Stoke’s Joe Allen.

Whereas Boxing Can Girouds is at a slight disadvantage in the centre of the park as Newcastle midfielder Kenedy is ineligible to face parent club Chelsea. However, he can turn to West Ham’s Marko Arnautovic, Burnley set-piece specialist Johann Gudmundsson and Paul Pogba, of Manchester United.

Boxing Can Girouds’ striker differential of Jamie Vardy has good recent form, having found the net against Arsenal midweek. However, a trip to Spurs looks tough for the Foxes’ striker. In contrast, 2Eyed Turk’s selection of Jordan Ayew has the stronger fixture, at home to Stoke, but poor form, having failed to score in each of his last four run-outs.

De Gea looks set to earn a rest in United’s final day encounter with Watford at Old Trafford, which leaves Boxing Can Girouds relying on Brighton’s Mat Ryan to earn points away to Liverpool. Meanwhile, 2Eyed Turk will be hoping that Burnley’s Nick Pope, who hosts Bournemouth, can keep his spot ahead of Tom Heaton for the final fixture.

Elsewhere in the selection, 2EyedTurk will rely on Spurs full-back Ben Davies to avoid rotation, while Boxing Can Girouds will be optimistic of a start for Manchester City centre-back Nicolas Otamendi, who was rested midweek.

The winner receives a £150 Amazon voucher, while the runner-up earns a £100 Amazon voucher.

The contest is not quite yet over for Petes Blair and Batmaniac, who go head to head in Gameweek 38’s third place play-off. The winner of this encounter wins a £50 Amazon voucher.

36k OR, any hits in the final GW seem reasonable?

    A) Mahrez/Pogba > Zaha/Arny
    B) Mahrez + Pogba > Mane + Arny/Zaha (-4)
    C) Mahrez + Pogba + Kane/Jesus > Zaha/Arny + Mane/Salah + Auba

    Cheers

How likely is it that Jesus starts his 3rd game in a week? Do we think he is up for some Pep rotation?

    Love to hear your thoughts.

    Cheers.

The only other option is Sterling as a false 9, so it's 50:50. Imo, he starts

Looking for someone to tell me I'm crazy here.

De Gea (out), Lingard (likely out), Willian (likely out) -> Karius (BRI), ZAHA (WBA), ARNAUTOVIC (EVE). -8.

    Masterstroke or silly?

Asked differently, which group of players will score higher this week?

    A) Ryan, Hoijberg (if Lingard out, he will play) +8
    B) Karius + Zaha

I can see Ryan and Hoijberg combining for 2/3 total so + 8 = 10/11. If Karius keeps a CS that's 6 and means Zaha would need 4/5 just to match, so probably not the best move with only 1 week runway.

Ha. I am thinking of a boring Willian -> Arnautovic and keeping the likes of De Gea/Ryan and Lingard unfortunately rather than taking hits.

It's an optimistic move. I would shy away from - 8..
Maybe willian to arnie/zaha should be sufficient.

Very exciting question here. What order would you put these guys on the bench? Assuming Lingard misses out, one of them will likely play:

Morgan (at tot) - Hoijberg (MCTY) - Dunk (at liv)

    Pretty woeful options.

    Thanks

Sry Davies is the third starting defender, should be two of Naughton, Long, Daniels...

    New brainstorm is

Lingard + Willian -> Alli (or any 9m player) + Carrick (-4). Nostalgia pick. Carrick assist or farewell penalty, anyone?

So I have a 46p lead in my ML.

    My team looks like this:

    Ryan
    Lowton-Vert-Smalling-Christensen
    Sterling-Willian-Son-Eriksen
    Vardy-Jesus

    Bench: Ddg,Gross,Monreal and Barnes.

    My rivals team:

    Fabianski
    Smalling-Bavies-Robertson
    Sterling-Alli-Martial-DSilva
    Kane-Mounie-Jesus

    Bench:Lossl,Milli,Chilwell,Rosenior

    Should I;
    A. Monreal,Son and Vardy for Robertson,Salah and Rashford (-8)
B.Ddg and Son for Adrian and Salah(-4)
C.Do something else that you guys see is better..

Any help I can get is appreciated. A lot of money at stake.
