Win prizes with RealFevr’s World Cup Fantasy

RealFevr are giving away a host of prizes to those who win their World Cup Fantasy game.

Victorious managers can get their hands on a Ledger Nano S, a RealFevr jersey as well as FevrCoin bonuses.

Players are allowed to create five different teams with the same account and there are also prices on offer for every Gameweek, for Group and Knockout Stages, and the overall winners at the end of the season. Find out what they are below.

HOW DO I PLAY REALFEVR’s FANTASY GAME?

In RealFevr’s World Cup Fantasy game you have a budget of £100m to build a squad with two goalkeepers, five defenders, five midfielders and three attackers. In the group stage and the round-of-16, you can have a maximum of three players from the same national team. In the quarter-finals the maximum rises to four, in the semi-finals it’s six and in the last Gameweek (the final plus the third and fourth place match) you can have up to 12 players from the same national team.

After completing your squad of 15, you can prepare your starting XI for the first Gameweek. You can use seven different tactics: 3–4–3, 3–5–2, 4–3–3, 4–4–2, 4–5–1, 5–4–1, 5–3–2. To change your tactical formation you can simply substitute someone from your starting XI with a player from the bench. If you’re in 4–4–2 and change a midfielder with an attacker, the team changes automatically to a 4–3–3. If you use manual substitutions (more on this below), you can change your tactics during the Gameweek.

For captain and vice-captain you should pick the players that you believe will have the higher scores of the Gameweek. Your captain’s score will be doubled, so the greater the outcome of his performance, the more you’ll benefit. If your captain doesn’t play in the Gameweek, the vice-captain will have his points double; otherwise, the vice-captain has no benefit. If you use manual substitutions, you can change your captain during the Gameweek. In this case, the best strategy is to give the armband to the player who plays first and keep changing it for every game, until you have a captain with a good score. This means that every player — not just the stars — is a potential captain when you use manual substitutions.

By default, your team will have the automatic substitutions turned on. With this option, if a player in your starting XI doesn’t play, he will be replaced by someone from the bench who has played. As mentioned before, if your captain doesn’t play, the vice-captain will have double points. The order in which the bench players will replace the ones that haven’t played is the order in which you organized your bench. This automatic changes will only take place at the end of the Gameweek.

In the manual substitutions mode, you’re in charge of everything. To activate this mode, you just have to make a substitution or change the captain. With manual mode on, you can change your captain in every game — but beware, once you change it, you can’t go back. You can give the armband only to players who are yet to play. You will also have the advantage of being able to take off the pitch someone who has already played. If you have someone with a disappointing score, you can replace him with someone from the bench. The substitute must be someone who hasn’t played yet. When using the manual substitutions, the best strategy is to leave on the bench the players whose matches will take place in the later days of the Gameweek. You’ll give a chance to the ones who play first and replace them when they disappoint you. Beware: if a player is sent off with a red card, you won’t be able to replace him, nor can you remove the armband if he was your captain.

For each new Gameweek, you can transfer players to and from your squad. For Gameweeks two and three, the group stage, you can make two transfers. For Gameweek four, the round-of-16, you have sixteen free transfers. In the remaining Gameweeks, you have eight transfers. If you don’t use all your available transfers, you can have 2 more in the next Gameweek. Every transfer you make beyond the free limit will result in a 4 points penalty on your score.

You have access to a WildCard that you can use in whichever Gameweek you choose. When active, the WildCard allows you to make unlimited transfers for the next Gameweek. You can change all the squad as many times as you want until the market closes (1 hour before the first match of the Gameweek). When the market for a Gameweek closes, you can start making transfers for the next one. (however, this is a bad idea: you should wait for to make transfers, because of late injuries and other problems that arrive).

HOW DOES POINTS-SCORING WORK?

Points-scoring is largely similar to what we are used to on Fantasy Premier League.

The only difference for all players is that are a minus one deducted for conceding penalties.

Meanwhile, goalkeepers earn extra points for every save, instead of three. Defenders, midfielders and forwards win a point for every four tackles made, every five balls recovered and for every two shots on target.

WHO ARE SOME OF THE BEST PLAYERS TO SIGN?

In the goalkeeping department, Jordan Pickford (£5.5m) is a key-player in England’s attempt to erase their latest World Cup performances. Getting off the blocks with a double-header against Tunisia and Panama is a divine combo, which should not be ignored.

Group G is also the best place to look for quality defenders. The tactical change promoted by Roberto Martínez in Belgium, now playing a 3–4–2–1, made Thomas Meunier (£6.0m) one of the best heavier options for your back-line. This Belgian tank covers the entire right flank and collected five goals and eight assists on the Belgians way to Russia, impressive numbers for a defender. He also banked five clean sheets (of eight possible) and 49 recovered balls. Playing against the likes of Tunisia and Panama from the get-go may prove to be a gift to the defender with more big chances created during the qualifiers, on a par with Germany’s Joshua Kimmich.

The most expensive player in the game is forward Lionel Messi (£12.5m) although Fantasy managers could look to the supporting cast of Angel Di María (£9.5m), Sergio Aguero (£10.0m) and Gonzalo Higuain (£9.0m) for help. Defending European champions Portugal will be lead by Cristiano Ronaldo (£12.0m) who bears the hope of a country trying to win its first ever World Cup. But Ronaldo is not alone. The Real Madrid attacker has a lot of young talented company in the national team in the likes of Bernardo Silva (£8.0), Gelson Martins (£6.5) or Gonçalo Guedes (£7.0) and the one with whom Ronaldo established a fruitful partnership in attack, AC Milan striker André Silva (£7.5).

But don’t forget about Brazil. Gabriel Jesus was their top goal-scorer with 7 goals, and Neymar was king of assists, with 8 goals created. Both of those attackers will have great Fantasy value in Russia.

Why is everyone on Lukaku and I don't see anyone with Mertens? Mertens made more appearances and participated in more goals in qualifying than Lukaku and is £1m cheaper.

(Besides Lukaku always lets me down in my FPL team ;))

Pretty happy with my captains and subs. I think it's a good idea to play the cheaper/worse lottery tickets early so you can tear them up if they don't come through. I'd be interested to see how many people will be weighing up whether to sub their superstar's 5 points for risky cheapos. What do you think?

Well I picked him in part because I think he has a chance of scoring goals, so it doesn't make too much sense to avoid the double points for those goals if they happen. Without the captain on the first match, he becomes much less desirable, because his second fixture is tough. So the captaincy is about maximising the player's potential output over two fixtures.

True. I got him. Just took the armband off him earlier. Just scared of the 5% chance that I dont get to give a "heavy-hitter" a chance for the armband. On another note, when do you decide that your captain points will do? Lets say Suarez scores 1 goal and he is your 1st captain?

            1. Deulofail
              • 8 Years
              5 years, 10 months ago

A goal and CS from a mid is probably enough for me in the first half of the week (i.e. 8 points x 2). A goal from a forward (6 points), probably not, unless we're already in the second half.

I prefer to save money where I can with these manual subs in play, so I'd go for Jesus and use the money elsewhere. That said, I finally cracked and went for Lukaku over Jesus given the spare million I got from Mendy > Pavard and Belgium's fixtures. I think Griezman would be my least favourite pick of the 3 you's listed.

Settled on this. Would love some input.

    El Kajoui Uzoho
    Kimmich Meunier Danilo Pavard Varela
JRod Erisken Meza Al Dawasari Inui
    Neymar Lukaku Cavani

Inui, Varela, Pavard and Meza are the uncertainties.

    Thanks.

Nice team, but I am of the opinion that one of Meunier and Kimmich is enough, not both.
Other than that, pretty good. Inui is simply an enabler, so just keep. Pavard should start for first game. Varela is iffy, as is Meza.

I'd wait with this team. After the first round, we'll get a better perspective of who starts and who doesnt.

I took out Belhanda after the rumours that Meza might start. Guess I'll learn the hard way 😀

    FIFA WC Team Draft No....36?

    Muslera/Schmeichel
    Trippier/Meunier/Danilo/Kimmich/Hegazy
    Miranchuk/Sanchez/Aldawsari/Willian/James
    Kane/Jesus/Azmoun

    Azmoun £8m & Willian £8.5m seem expensive differentials...suggestions?

8m for Azmoun does seem a bit much. Willian, I can tolerate that price tag.
Muslera+Schmeichel seems odd, why not go for Uzoho for one to free up funds?

Any thoughts on this? Quality? Balanced?

    Muslera
    Mendy, Godin, Kimmich, Meunier
    Coutinho, Milinkovic-Savic, Mueller
    Griezmann, Jesus, Cavani

    Uzoho, Shoji, Kvist, C Sanchez

    Is Milinkovic-Savic a worthy gamble?

Milinkovic-Savic, isnt he like a deep-lying playmaker? I'm not that familiar with Serbian football.

I thought so but told he plays too deep? Can no longer fit him in team due to price but if you can I’d do it.

hard to pick, as both are just essential for their respective teams.
I have both rn, so hard to choose.
Eriksen just edges it I guess. Denmark are just so reliant on him, if Denmark scores, he's bound to be involved.

Across all 3 group stage games I'd probably lean towards Eriksen. First round only I'd lean towards JRod. Very close, though.

Hello all! Do you have any thoughts about my latest iteration?

    Uzoho | Al-Muaiouf
    Meunier | Guerreiro | Trippier | Sabaly | Idowu
    JRodriguez | Coutinho | Muller | Isco | Al-Dawsari
    Mbappe | Messi | Sarr

For me Sabaly, Idowu and Sarr are nailed. Only concern is Al-Muaiouf and maybe Isco. Thoughts?

I mean, just play Aldawsari over Jrod from the get-go? You can always sub him in in later on, as James plays on las day of GW.

Mendy likely to start for France? Or are there other options I should go for?
Max 5.5, already have danilo, varela Sabaly under that price threshold
