Fixtures

Premier League fixtures announced for 2018/19

The Premier League fixture list for 2018/19 was released today at 9am, giving Fantasy managers an early idea of which teams to target in the opening few Gameweeks.

Manchester City’s initial fixtures particularly stand out: the reigning champions begin with an away trip to Arsenal before they encounter all six of the sides promoted from the Championship over the last two seasons.

Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea only meet one of their fellow “big six” clubs in their opening half-dozen fixtures, meanwhile.

Newly promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers (EVE, lei, MCI, whu, BUR, mun) and Fulham (CPL, tot, BUR, bri, mci, WAT) have mixed starts, while Cardiff City have a decent trio of matches (bou, NEW, hud) to begin with before their fixtures toughen considerably: the Bluebirds then face six of last season’s top seven in their subsequent seven matches.

Wolves and Cardiff also have tricky-looking final-day encounters away at Liverpool and Manchester United respectively.

Southampton and Everton assets might be among those to consider in the opening months of the season: they are the only two clubs not to play any of last season’s top six sides in the first five Gameweeks.

For anyone with the armband currently on Al Dawsari as a punt...

Odds on him to score anytime - 13/2
Odds on a Saudi Arabia red card - 13/2

So in reality he’s at least 11x more likely to score than he is to be sent off

If you're benchboosting I'd give B some proper thought, although I'd also save the cash by going with Cavani, but that's just me.

Btw, any thoughts on how big a gamble BBing in rd1 is? I'm really tempted, but just keep telling myself that we really don't know much right now.

I've played my BB for Rd1, but I've made sure to go with players who are 100% nailed to start. I've had guys like Mendy, Lo Celso, Pavard in my various drafts, but ended up picking the ones who barring a huge surprise will all be playing.

    Muslera, sceszny

Hegazy, Godin, dalsgaard, Marcelo/kimmich, Ben alouane

Golovin, lo Celso, llajic, de bruyne, Sanchez

    Mandzukic, Neymar, Lukaku

    Rate please

      Kimmich
Not sure KDB worth it- plays quite deep for Belgium
Not 100% Lo Celso will start
Think Jesus better value than Neymar

The plan is to wildcard in Rd2. I don't fancy BRA-SWI to be a goalfest and want to avoid Spain for now as well. With that in mind, any thoughts on this?

    Greizmann Lukaku Cavani
    James Mueller Samedov Meza (Nandez)
    Kimmich Meunier Pavard (Varela Idowu)
    El Kajoui (Uzoho)

Also, any issues with the order? Cheers all.

    1. Klopptomist Scott Jelly
      • 6 Years
      5 years, 10 months ago

Yes the issue with the order is that Meunier and James play after Nandez and Varela, so you can't use your subs properly. Check the rules on manual substitutions

Cheers, K. I read them yesterday but ... so if Nandez and Varela play, but do nothing, I can still sub them out for Meza and Parvard? So it's the same system as for the captain?

Yep! As long as the person you are subbing in hasn't played. (So James would be good for the bench unless you're worried about missing a deadline)

Basically thinking that he stands chances of assists by happening to be the last person to touch the ball before Messi/Aguero/Higuain/Di Maria do something

Because there are other good options at their price ranges. Di Maria and Messi too expensive for me, Aguero and Higuain eat each other as options.
